They say you’ll never forget your first love,
and I know I never will.
and I know I never will.
Late afternoon and the sun would begin to change the ocean within the next two hours or so, or the ocean would change the sun. There would be tangerine and gold. Nathan was passing the beach on his way to the Amphitheater. His dark curls, tussled from the wind and his glasses reflected the setting sun. It was always a long day now a days. Nathan was constantly in the infirmary now, helping to heal the wounded it gave him something to do and didn't think to much of it when he signed up but now that he was helping Chiron almost every afternoon...Nathan only had so much energy in him. He didn't even know how bone tired he was until this evening. It was difficult not to close his eyes as he walked. He probably could if he wanted to, but his foresight was being a jerk to him lately. It would tell him what the volleyball score was for his cabin but wouldn't tell him that his sister was back after six years.
Nathan reached the Amphitheater as the sun was setting over half blood hill. Moving along the rows and rows of seats to accommodate the maximum capacity of camp half blood, he reached one in the middle to try and blend in with the empty space beside him. Down on the stage were some campers, he would have assumed his brothers and sisters but most of them were gone. It was only himself and Summer left. He had Mia but she stayed in the Artemis cabin... and no boys allowed. Plus he wouldn't want to leave Summer. The Apollo cabin hadn't had a musical practice in a long time, he noticed. Which of course he didn't mind, given that his musical abilities were on hold right now. Nathan knew he was going to have to face the music at some point...tell Summer that he couldn't play. Given that he had already told Mia and Summer was the only one left. Taking a seat near the middle he curled up and stared blankly at the stage, watching as the campers fiddled around on the stage, one held a guitar playing music while the others danced around and laughed with each other. Was that the power music had?? He had forgotten. Maybe he could go back to the cabin he had his guitar under his bed, accumulating cobwebs. NO! he pulled his knees closer to his chest as he continued to watch the musical spectacle.
The wind started to pick up and a leaf blew into his lap. He brushed it off. It reminded him of his time in the forest with Sara. It was a brief meeting before he went back to the infirmary to get his head checked out. She had startled him and he had fallen right out of the tree. It had been like nothing he ever experienced before. His foresight had shown her coming which means she must be important. He knew though, even without the foresight that she was special. She was charismatic, magnetic, electric...and everybody knew it. And in that way he...understood her. Even when he didn't really even know her at all. It was weird feeling all of these emotions when he barely knew Sara. Then again he didn't really have these feelings about anyone. He thought he liked Anabelle, who had been a daughter of Demeter but that had fizzled out quickly. Nathan didn't even know what love was. Maybe he loved Sara?...he didn't know.
