Devan is a counselor at the camp that has basically been her home since she was eleven. When her mother passed she left Devan the properties they owned in both California and England but Devan only visits them once or twice a year. She'd much prefer to be at the camp helping to mold the students into becoming the best warriors they can.
Since Devan lost someone whom she considered to be the love of her life she has a hard time letting other people in. The few friends she had before he died still remain her friends but she hasn't made any new ones. At least not with people she would consider true friends who she would actually share her secrets with. Although Devan does one day want a family she hasn't been in a relationship in over ten years. She just doesn't see the point to it when she knows she's still in love with someone else.
Even though it's hard for people to get to know her because she is so reserved, Devan is an extremely loyal person and will go out of her way to help her friends. She's the type of person who loves with her whole heart once she lets someone get that close. She isn't the type to judge someone on how they look or act when she first meets them. She reserves judgement until they prove how worthy or unworthy they truly are. She likes to give the kids a hard time when they're slacking off but she's always there if they need someone to talk to and she's usually the first person willing to give a kid another shot when they've screwed up.
