Of all the things Seri could have been doing today, picking up a troublesome sibling hadn't been on the top of her to-do-list. Sleeping, maybe going into the Arena for a good bout, was what she would have probably been doing right now if she hadn't been the freaking Cabin Leader of the Ares Cabin!
Sometimes she really regretted her job, though she knew if someone else had been in charge she wouldn't have liked it every much. She hated authority figures of all types, though strangely when she was in charge it was tolerable.
Still, it didn't stop her from getting mad about her duties. Why did her siblings have to get in trouble all the time? It was like they were little magnets to chaos.
Pushing open the main Big House doors, Seri eyes scanned the room until they landed on a brown mop of hair. The Ares Child looked no more than 10 years of age and she could clearing see a black bruise forming under the defiant boy's right eye. She recognized him instantly as Conner. He was new to camp. Only being here for a few weeks and she had already had to get him from the Big House three times. All of them fight related.
"Look at you." She said walking over to the boy and crouching down to examine his face. She tilted his head from side to side watching as he winced from her touch. His clothes were filthy, dried mud clinging to his sleeves and pant legs. The kid at got into a heavy tussle.
"What happened, Conner?" Seri demanded, watching him with slightly narrowed eyes.
The boy clenched his fists into his lap, biting his lip, "Nothing." He growled turning his head away.
Seri eyes narrowed. He always replied the same way. Nothing had happened he'd always say. Though his blackening eye was obviously something.
"Was it a Bully?" She growled, wondering why he wouldn't tell her. "Give me a name Conner and I will take care of it."
"It's nothing Okay?" He half-shouted, biting his lip again while turning his head away from her.
Seri sighed softly. She always was soft with kids, they were just to innocent to be cruel to. Conner didn't deserve to be beat up. He was a cute little thing. If it was a bully, Seri wanted to help, but she couldn't do that if he didn't tell her anything. Gods, what was she going to do?
