Lyall ‘Wolf’ Avery McCain
He’s a solemn, odd little kid and the youngest of the McCain family’s three. I kind of think he’d be the serious, thoughtful type that would be wary of the world but still rather naïve and trusting. Just make sure that he’d be the kind of person Finn would be very fond of (it’s not that hard to do) and you’ll be fine. I’ve just filled out the ‘General Information’ and ‘Family and History’ sections and stuck them in a code below. Everything else you can decide by yourself. And it would also be nice if you could PM me the app before you post it (: If you play him for me I will be indebted to your forever!

The young McCain clan had always been taunted with her wealthy father’s profession; a ‘preacher’s kid,’ the other children at school called them. Each child had had to find his or her own way of dealing with the mockery, as their parents were the ‘back off and let the kids fend for themselves’ type. John McCain, the eldest son, fought anybody who even vaguely offended him and was soon respected and feared. Melody and Melanie, the twins, used their charms to stop the talking. But sweet, shy little thirteen-year old Vivien McCain had no weapons to use except her goodness. And that was practically of no use. So she had to bear the teasing and ridicule, withdrawing into her own little soul, being admonished by both brother and sisters to ‘buck up and stop feeling sorry for herself.’
Thus she bore it until the day when her tolerance reached the hairline limit. Nothing out of the ordinary occurred; one of the many town bullies was just meaner than usual; the school seemed to hand out even harder homework than usual; it was just one of those times when everything seems to go wrong. That day, though, something snapped in her. Maybe it was when the bully told her that she was a wimpy, weird little odd ball and would fit better in a barn. Maybe it was when the same girl tripped her at lunch, making the already stressed pre-teen fall into her tray of food. Maybe it was when her bag broke, spilling her huge load of books all over the courtyard sidewalk, and she had to pick them up in the rain while the rest of the eighth grade went by - laughing.
At any rate, she snapped. Vivien sobbed herself to sleep with a broken heart, feeling extremely sorry for herself. Over the night, though, that little girl disappeared under the firmly fixed mask of a flirtatious, party-loving socialite. No one knew what had been the cause of the change in her. Her brother thought she had come around at last and gotten some guts. Her sisters couldn’t think at all why she was so different but were somewhat jealous at all the attention their younger sister was now getting. As for Mr. and Mrs. McCain, the standoffish parents? Well, they had never really loved any of their children in the first place, so they didn’t care too much. Maybe a thought crossed their minds that Vivien was a lot less shy than normally, but nothing more. It was harsh of them, perhaps, but the family had already been growing apart before even the four children were born; since the McCain’s marriage had really been one of financial convenience.
They got a little worried later, though, when Vivien was still a determined minx at sixteen. Every night saw her at some late night party or another, and did not see her home until the early hours of dawn. She met an unhealthy variety of people at several houses from all walks of live. Once, Vivien fancied that she had seen a drunken man staring at her… but when she turned to look at him, he literally disappeared. She went home right after that, deciding that she had gotten tired from staying up so late. But still, her parents were concerned.
Some pressure was put on the girl to ease up on her parties, and in retaliation, a rebellious Miss McCain threatened to run off with her latest boyfriend, Ethan Gardener. Well, whenever the McCain parents had met up with opposition in their children, they gave in; withdrew. But this time they were really alarmed; after all, such a reputation their daughter had been building that it was also tarnishing their name. So this time they insisted fairly sternly… only to be completely thwarted in their efforts. True to her word, the still-young teen disappeared with the penniless Ethan Gardener less than a week later and were never found.
However, a Mrs. Gardener and a Mr. Gardener appeared overnight, settling themselves into down-town New York with a hefty load of money that was missed by the McCain home that evening. It was an unhappy marriage, doomed to an equally unhappy ending. After a year, a sickly baby boy was born to the young couple. Ethan Gardener, who had always been a coward, albeit a handsome one, abandoned the mother and child to fend for themselves. Vivien was bitter over being ditched for a while, but soon learned to console herself in taking care of the child, whom she had named ‘Donovan.’ Soon enough she had recovered… and Vivien found that her pretty, flirtations mask had been outgrown. Caring for one of her own had developed the motherliness inside her, and produced a warmer, kinder, and more serious girl – for after all, Vivien was still only eighteen.
After about two years, Vivien started going on dates again. While her social butterfly mask had been destroyed, she still enjoyed going out with men. She met Dionysus at a party, and they got to know each other for a while. The god admired the still beautiful, sweet young lady, and sensed that something had hurt her badly. In a desire to help her, he offered to marry her. She, already in love with his kindness and consideration, accepted. They lived together for a while, Vivien in a state of bliss, and Dionysus daily growing to appreciate the truly wonderful woman Vivien was. Another son was born to the twenty year old woman, and they named him Carter Finn McCain, Dionysus insisting that he take his mother’s surname. Even then, the god kept in mind that he would have to leave at some point.
Tragedy struck, though, when Finn was only two years old. Vivien and Dionysus, going out for their anniversary dinner, had left them with a babysitter. When they came back, Donovan had disappeared and the babysitter was lying, unconscious on the couch. Vivien was frantic with worry, and Dionysus blamed himself for not being there to protect them. When the babysitter came to, they both questioned her thoroughly. It turned out that Vivien’s former husband, Ethan Gardener, had apparently come back for… revenge? In any case, he couldn’t be traced. Perhaps Dionysus could have found the culprit, but the Fates destined it not to be so, and he could not interfere.
It took a surprisingly short time for Vivien to recover, though. Most of this was due to the fact that Dionysus came to see her regularly throughout the day, but also because she still had Finn to look after, and was pregnant with yet another son. When he was born, though, it reminded Vivien too much of the first time she had held her first son… and so was hurt too much. She left the naming of the new child to Dionysus and Finn. The thirteen year-old took his younger brother’s naming seriously, and decided on ‘Wolf’ or ‘Lyall’ in the Scottish tongue, their heritage.
It was a long time before Vivien could look at Wolf without some distress - in every way he was the image of his still missing older brother. In that time, both sons still left to her bonded closely. They were hardly close enough to merit fights, and Finn felt protective of the boy he had named. So the family grew close together in that short two years before Dionysus decided that however much Vivien needed Finn to look after her, it was time that the boy went to camp, and to sooth the fears of his wife, he took Finn there himself. Of course, the boy refused to be a year-rounder and came back at the end of every summer to spend more time with his family. When he grew to old for the camp, Finn decided to stay on as a counselor, mainly because he enjoyed the job, and partly so he could look after Wolf when his time came.
In the meanwhile, Dionysus had been keeping a sharp lookout for Vivian’s son Donovan, but had been unable to find neither hide nor hair of the kidnapper or the kidnapped… until one frosty day soon after Finn’s departure to camp when he found out that Ethan Gardener had been killed - murdered, apparently - and had been dead for three years. Where was Donovan now? The god still had sources looking for the now twenty-six year old boy, but no trace had yet been discovered.
