Olivia had no damn idea what she was gonna wear. At first, she asked this Aphrodite girl - stupid idea - to make her a dress. Unfortunately, since the Aphrodite cabin holds a serious grudge against her and Chase, she was made a chicken suit and expected to wear it. So she went to the only eligible person she could think of that was amazing at sewing and fashionable: Cinder Lynn. Thankfully, Cinder made Liv a dress, but she had no idea how she was going to pull it off.
The dress, for one thing, was strapless. Plus, it was clearly meant for someone who was about one or two inches shorter than Liv herself and with a much slimmer body. It was a cream-ish sort of color with five slanted tiers. Every other tier was a gorgeous lace. Liv stood over her bed, staring at it. She could never do this. Unfortunately, she didn't own any other dresses. Eh, what the heck? She could try it.
Fortunately, the dress looked gorgeous on her. Olivia literally didn't recognize herself for a second. Her skinny and strong, tanned runner legs complimented the light shade of the dress, and the color of her eyes stuck out against it. She looked, well, pretty awesome.
Next she took out the sparkly jewelry she was given by another random girl - Olivia had gone around collecting accessories and such. The earrings looked like two gold and silver sparkled raindrops hanging from her ears. The necklace was three layers of big, clean pearls, and then one small row of tiny pearls. The bracelet had three layers of various neutral-colored designs and beads and jewels and then a layer of extra heart-shaped charms.
After getting all of her jewelry on, Olivia realized that she hadn't even decided what the hell she was doing with her hair. Carefully, she pulled it back in a long, thick French braid down her back, with her side bangs in the front. Again, she didn't even know how she could pull this off. But she was actually looking not that bad.
Then there was the tricky part. Make-up. Olivia had already had this, so she just used to her own. First she went with the eyeshadow that she had picked out. It was a soft pink with small sparkles in it. She lightly applied it. She didn't want to be one of those girls who go a party with crap all over their faces. She picked up the dark mascara she had picked and dabbed it on her eyelashes. Magically, they looked long and dark. Finishing up her eyes, she slid some eyeliner across her eyelids. Carefully, she pink-ified her lips with some lipstick. Finally, her beautying was completed with a soft spray of Katy Perry's "Purr". Olivia had really only bought it because the box was cute, a purple cat. She slowly put on her tan wedges and half-walked, half-sort-of-stumbled out the door.
Other people were walking up to the mess hall. Everyone was in packs of their same gender. Apparently, no one met their dates before the party. It was always in the party. Maybe they wanted some sort of red-carpet-wedding-walk-down-the-aisle moment or something like that. Oliviahikedwalked to the mess hall alone.
The hall looked epic. Olivia would have stood there in the doorway all night gawking at it if someone hadn't shoved her. And she would have eaten it if she didn't have awesome reflexes. She quickly regained her balance, stabilizing herself. The tables had been pushed to the side, but they were the first thing she noticed. They had little decorations and confetti and everything splattered all over them. In the center of the room, there was a huge, color-changing dance floor thing, and even a sparkly disco ball. It was the most amazing sight. And those were only the first things that caught her eye.
As she was walking out to the dance floor, she saw a few Aphrodite and Demeter girls sneaking glances at her, whispering who knows what, and then burst out with laughter. Olivia's cheeks darkened with chagrin. She was so stupid to try and do her make-up herself. She took a deep breath, composed herself, and walked along, examining the room.
