Cinder had started lots of parties, all with planning, decorations, and tons of food. But this was the first party that had a theme. She had gone all-out with the decorations, but more on that later. First lets focus on what she was doing at the current time: Getting ready. Heart pounding as she freaked the freak out about what people would think about her decorations, she took a shower. Then she slipped a robe on and curled her hair, letting hairspray be her best friend for one more time. But that wasn't all she did to her hair - she also sprayed it with Juicy Couture perfume (Black Friday sale, baby!), then dashed it with a bit of silver glitter, and flipped it over her shoulder. Usually she went with gold stuff, but not today; today she was wearing a festive silver dress, so she wore silver to go along with it. By the time she was done with her makeup, she had added a silver sparkle and little dot of gold eyeliner at the corner of her eye, so it made even her eyes pop with silver. She really hoped she wasn't overdoing the silver.
Then was her dress. She took it out of it's case just to look at it, and instead of putting it on, she put it back into its case and slipped on an old pair of jeans. The only thing she put on from what she was going to wear was her red jewelry, so she walked out of her cabin (fighting the mob of annoyed and eccentric girls trying to go to the Christmas party, with Max Darke yelling at them), moving slowly so she didn't touch her makeup and once she got to the big hall, she looked around. She was the first there, so she would have a crack at the last decorations she wanted. So she sprinted to work; hanging this, pinning that, writing this, folding that, laying a table cloth. Then she stopped being OCD and looked at it. Just really looked.
The Mess Hall had never looked better. There were several tables, all round, all thrown to one side in an artistic-but-comfortable layout to the left. Half the tables had white table clothes, half had red. There were four chairs around a few tables that were bigger, and two chairs around several more. There was more chairs then people that were expected to show up, but it didn't really matter. Anyway, the middle of the floor was polished and shining wood, with lights shining down it as a dance floor, then at the back wall there was a makeshift stage for people to preform at (Cody had planned the music, so Cinder didn't get much say in that, so whatever he said went) with musical instruments already in place. On the right, there was a long table against the wall, where people would put their presents if they wanted to give them anonymously. She, though, wanted to give Jamie hers herself. Back on decorationsbefore Aries has to re-write another description instead of copying this one: There where Christmas-esque balloons placed in lonely corners, and there where strings of popcorn hanging from the ceiling to look like snowflakes, and also a few balls of mistletoe placed where unsuspecting couples might walk.
She just stared in awe at it for a moment. The lighting and the music was going to make it so much better, but it was already perfect. But, before too long, she yanked herself out of that daze to go finish getting dressed, practically sprinting into the bathroom to make sure no one saw her before she finished.
Once there, she put on her silver dress and pinned her hair up into a formal, but messy-ish bun to show that she still had hair, she just wasn't leaving it down. Her dark hair glittered with... glitter as she shoved it in carefully, taking time to get every strand perfect. Then she realized she didn't have much time, so she put on her tailored dress and red heels, along with her red necklace and bracelet, then gave herself one more pep-talk to calm her beating-faster-then-normal heart, before she took James's wrapped present into her hands, and walked out of the door.
