RP Sample:Danny awoke to the sound of footsteps rushing across the Hermes cabin as campers hustled through the morning activities to be able to shuffle off down to breakfast. He felt the cold wooden floor beneath his left side of his face as someone shook him to get up. This is not happening Danny thought with a groan clutching onto his suitcase even tighter as he made sure the lock was still there. It was either too early or Danny was to lazy to get up. Most likely a mixture of both. Who could blame him from wanting to sleep though? He had a crazy past three days. From evil girls turning into monsters to vicious hell hounds, oh wasn't it just loads of fun Danny thought sarcastically as he closed his eyes again hoping it would all simply disappear. That none of what had happen happened. It was just too . . . Unreal. Demigods? monsters? Fighting? Sure he was good in the ring and he loved to make weird contraptions, designs, and such but that didn't mean anything, did it?
He just wanted to roll over and realize that he was still back home in New Orleans and his face was buried in a pillow. He would go out and say hi to his dad before going out to the Quarter with his friends. Probably laugh and joke with them about his bizarre dream. But it wasn't a dream. Oh no, this was much more. This was almost bigger than his imagination. This was bigger than when he won the silver gloves in Fargo. Just as he was about to finally fall back asleep he felt a splash of ice cold water on his face and simply opened his eyes with a frown as one of the Hermes kids or perhaps another unclaimed such as himself ran away having dumped ice cold water on his face for shits and giggles. Danny normally wasn't this uptight and wound up. In fact he was normally a laid-back, party type guy who normally loved a funny joke or prank because it kept life going and could make you laugh.
But there were two problems at that time. One the last few days had been absolute hell and two the joke in it's entirety wasn't all that clever or funny. In normal times it might've produced a chuckle or one of his signature lopsided grins but not today. He was too lazy to do anything though. Too lazy to even lift his hand and wipe the water from his face. Maybe if I just close my eyes they'll all just disappear he thought unenthusiastically as he closed his eyes again with a morning moan and grunt. He was normally an enthusiastic guy but not in the morning. No. Danny was not a morning guy unless he had to get up early to draw something from one of his dreams which had always been quite strange consisting of monsters and what not. Something that Danny was trying as hard as he could not to see the connection. To believe that it was just another dream like the ones he and his friends would often joke about. But deep down he knew what was happening. He was just too afraid to face it.
Once again his impotence was standing in his own way just like all the years he crushed on his friend Layla. Then it hit him. He would never see Layla again. They would never go on their date. The date that he had finally scored after so long of thinking and daydreaming about it. He wished he could be as surefire and confident as he was in the boxing ring or on the diamond or with his friends or when he made his diagrams which he didn't even fully one hundred percent understand but somehow knew that was how it was supposed to be and that it would work. But most of all he wished he was back in New Orleans performing some 'miracle mechanics' as his friends called it or just playing some pool at a club watching his friend Jake fail miserably at picking up a girl with his arrogant and cocky personality. He didn't want an explanation. He didn't want to find out what this all meant. He didn't want powers. He didn't want any of this. All he wanted was to go back to his normal life in New Orleans. He has a lean muscular build from boxing and baseball. He always wears his necklace with two silver gloves on it though it can often b tucked under his shirt. He also wears his grandfathers dog tags as well though, like the silver gloves, is sometimes tucked under his shirt. He can look somewhat unkempt and slightly disorganized when it comes to clothing having his shirt nonchalantly pulled out in certain places. He has a lopsided grin and a very white, charming smile. Danny sometimes wears faded, worn out, vintage looking clothing such as his worn out jeans or faded, vintage looking Aerosmith shirt. When doing mechanics, building something that could ruin clothes, or something similar Danny will often where a white tank top or under shirt or go shirtless in which some would be surprised by his six pack as he doesn't look the type to have it to some. Overall he looks nonchalant and laid-back. He also looks somewhat sweet or innocent which he sort of is.
What Makes Them Them
Personality Description: Danny never really faced any of the troubles normal demigod children did due to being born and raised in New orleans so the smell of everything masked his scent keeping away monsters. Originally at a young age he had a Hephaestus/Athena type personality however, because of growing up ina place like New orleans and through the help of family and friends at an early age he didn't grow up to have either an Athena or Hephaestus type personality. He is a party guy when it comes down to it though he's the person who's going to always try to help you whether you like it or not. He's very sweet and very normal. He is nonchalant and can be cool but at the same time a bit nerdy and can be jumpy at times. He is normally pretty laidback, but he does have his days like everyone else where his tolerance will be low. He can be a bit of a pushover and, though a boxer and baseball player, absolutely hates real fighting. Fighting like out there against hell hounds and Empousa and what not. He is scared of going back home because he doesn't want to bring any monsters to his family, but he misses them a great deal. He is very impotent when it comes to girls especially if he likes them or if they're cute. He isn't smooth with girls all the time though he does have his moments, but overall he's scared of being rejected or hurt. He loves cars, the mets despite being from New Orleans as he enjoys underdogs, mechanics, archetitecture, and the other things any child of Athena or Hephaestus would. He enjoys being around other people a lot and is a socialite. He fears not fitting in especially at camp as he isn't the kind of person to kill something, even if it is a monster. He is merciful which is a weakness on his part and he easily feels bad for others thouh he doesn't like people who bring him down. In the end he's the person that would stand by your side until the end though. He is very smart and loves inventing things however he's onyl ever really drawn diagrams andsketches of things as he never could make them without certain things. He grew up a normal life and is a normal guy thrown into the fray of this world and doesn't know what exactly to do about. He hasn't fully accepted things yet and feels like its a dream. He is very frightened by scorpions and, although not scared by them, absolutely hates spiders. He can be sarcastic at times, but underneath everything he is very enthusiastic usually but it will take some getting used to Camp Halfblood before he's entirely back to his enthusiastic self. He hates to lie and he hates to be lied to. He basically grew up in the French Quarter so he has many stories of times in the clubs and at wild parties with his friends. He is also fond of pool and loves a good joke or prank if he's not in a bad or cranky mood. He absolutely hates mornings unless he wakes up with an invention or diagram in mind from his dream in which he'll get to sketchign immediately. He can be funny at times and awkward at others especially if he likes a girl. Some may view him as weak due to him being afraid of killing something and because he is merciful. He get crushes on girls easily but is much too afraid and impotent to act upon. One of the reason he's afraid to go out into battle isn't because he knows he can't win it's because he's seen what he can do. He's also afraid of letting his friends or family or people he cares about down or causing them pain, suffering, harm, or worse. He's also not too fond of gossip, being left out of things, hates derogatory marks when uncalled for, hospitals and needles which he's deathyl afraid of, and having to bear bad news but when it comes down to it he would if he had to. He is the kind of hero that is made in a moment. He ahs to be pushed to his limits and see no other way but to fight and when he fights well . . . he fights.
Likes: Drawing, designing architecture, a good joke or prank, mechanics, building things anything, fixing things, making friends as he's a socialite, people, girls, pool, clubs, parties, wild parties, inventing things, cars, trucks, motorcycles, anything with wheels, technology, machinery, the heat, boxing, and baseball. Also under it all he will really like the Hermes children because they're the most normal in his mind and that's what he needs: normal. Also he will be very grateful towards Hermes due to Hermes allowing him to stay in his cabin. He also loves being ambidextrous.
Dislikes: killing even if it is a monster, spiders, feeling alone, derogatory remarks that are uncalled for, extremely cynical people, extremely dramatic people, liars, death, hospitals, needles, not fitting in, being left out, his fears, lying, bearing bad news, secrets, and gossip.
Fears: scorpions, needles, hospitals, being rejected, commitment in a relationship, not being able to protect himself or those he cares about, that he'll never be able to live a normal life, not fitting in, never seeing is family or friends again, putting his friends and family in danger, death or worse, and being taken advantage of.
Secrets: Is afraid to fight for real and never wants to again. It's different from boxing. In boxing there are rules and regulations that must be followed. He knows he's not going to die in the ring in boxing or on the mound in baseball. He just doesn't want to take the chance of endangering himself or worse those he cares about. He's actually impotent when it comes to girls.
Ambitions: live a normal life, grow up and have a family, become a boxing legend, play or manage a major league baseball team, and to restore and own all of his favorite old vehicles such as the cutlass and the impala.
Powers: Very smart with battle strategies (though is too afraid they won't work to actually use them) or even strategies just in boxing and baseball or in everything other than with girls though he does have his moments with them, Hepheastus passed down his mechanical abilities such as building and forging things, he can tell whats wrong with any machinery or things such as pipes, cars, etc, the normal demigod kick butt ADHD and dyslexia that translates Greek to English, very good at architectural designs, and good at inventing things.
Family and History
Personal History: Overall, Danny had a pretty great life. New Orleans, the parties, the clubs, the friends. He had what many demigods always wanted. A normal life. At a young age Danny was reclusive, kept to himself, was very cynical, and intelligent. His older brother Zack, who knew about Athena being his mother, made sure Danny didn't grow up to be that way however. Because of his brother and being born and raised in New Orleans, Danny grew up to become an enthusiastic, nonchalant, laid-back guy. He became very caring of others and became a socialite.
His father, a son of Hephaestus though he never told anyone, taught Danny about mechanics, building, and fixing things as he was a handy man. They grew a close relationship as Danny did with his grandfather and older brother as well. Danny can't remember a time he didn't know every tool due to his father teaching him from such a young age (around three or four). Around the age of five his father enrolled him in little league and his grandfather enrolled him in boxing as his father loved baseball and his grandfather was a retired boxer. He grew a love for both and took on second base until he was nine when he started pitching. He always had a great glove and anticipation as well as getting a hit every time he was up due to being a demigod, a bit of an unfair advantage but he didn't know. He loved boxing as well becoming extremely adept in both sports as he honed his skills wishing them to be perfect as he was a perfectionist with whatever he did.
For as long as Danny could remember he was always a great drawer. He would often wake up in the middle of the night and draw a diagram or idea that came to him in a dream. He would draw anything that came to mind really as it didn't entirely matter to him. But he always drew up the new inventions when they came to mind. The first that ever came to him in a dream was that of a sword in which could be used to reflect light. Another idea of his had been a gun that shot special bullets. His favorite was a retractable sword that would double down to a dagger or even a switch blade. Of course he never acted upon them or even truly understood them but somehow he knew that the diagrams worked. He kept them all in his sketchpad which he always keeps on him.
Growing up in New Orleans, Danny was never more than two or three doors from a bar or club so naturally he basically spent a lot of his life in clubs. He loved the French Quarter and he fell in love with Mardi Gras as well. He started going to the clubs with his friends when he was eleven and loved it from the start. He loved the mingling and the fun times and the interaction. He learned to play pool extremely well and it became a favorite of his. He was always good in school and, though shy, was able to keep a close group of friends and many acquaintances. He developed a crush on one of his best friends Layla when he was eleven, though being impotent, he was too afraid to act upon it. He began daydreaming about her and even at times avoiding her scared she might find out. Although the feelings never went away Danny and Layla became closer and closer knowing everything about each other with the exception of Danny's crush.
Danny spent countless hours with his guy friends in the clubs joking around with them and at times even watching them fail at trying to get girls. Hanging with his friends at the clubs is a favorite past time of his. He went to many wild parties with his friends, though he always stayed straight edge resisting any and all drugs and alcohol with ease. He didn't mind if his friends or others did drugs or alcohol but he was an athlete and he needed to stay clean, not to mention what it does to you. He was determined not to wind up looking like the heroin addicts and meth heads they showed in health class. Although he was extremely smart and did well in school, Danny did have trouble doing well in school. His dyslexia often messed with his head and he'd have trouble in classes such as English and Social Studies. In classes such as math and science his true smarts showed, not that he didn't do well in English and social studies and he tried as hard as he could and always managed to pull off early to mid-eighties grades in both. Danny's grandfather knew of Danny's godly parent and tried to focus much on his Athenian traits. Introducing him to art, architecture, math, and science at an early age. His grandfather also kept him well rounded with all different types of music and old movies. Danny grew to love older music such as the beatles and aerosmith but still being into Drake and other newer artists such as Daughtry.
When Danny had been seven disaster struck New Orleans. It was hurricane Katrina. Luckily Danny and his family had been lucky enough to get out of New Orleans before it all broke loose, but regardless going back and finding out several of his friends hadn't made it was rough. He didn't quite know what to say to several of his friends who had lost family members or parents, but regardless he tried to be there for them as much as he could. He would soon udnerstand the loss of a loved one however. When he was thirteen his grandfather started havign kidney failure. Unfortunately neither Danny's father nor his brother could give him blood or a kidney and it fell upon Danny. This is where his fear of hospitals and needles come from. First they couldn't find his veins which of course had freaked him out. Though he stuck in there knowing his grandfather needed him. He went through with the transplant but his grandfather passed before they could give it to him and he died in surgery. Now Danny was without his grandfather and was missing a kidney, though it was okay as he had enough. Not to mention this was when his older brother Zack went away to college. Zack had always been there for Danny and was the older brother many wished they had. He was a great odler brother and a great friend. Danny felt a bit betayed that Zack was leaving the family at such a time as he didn't quite understand everything.
Zack had taught him the things that his father and grandfather didn't. Compassion. Caring. Sympathy. All the things that he had lacked when young his brother had given him. He was like a third father right behind their grandfather and father. Danny decided to get through the death of his grandfather by fueling his boxing and training with his anger, fustration, and sadness. He got better and better with each match and each trainign session. He did everythign he could from jumping rope to lifting waits to intense work outs. He came up with surefire battle strategies by studying each of his opponents and when it finally mattered he came through. Fighting his way all the way to the silver glove championship in Fargo, North Dakota Danny won and took home the title and the belt. He also put work into his baseball and his team came out on top that year, but it wasn't as big of an achievement as winning the junior gold glove national tournament otherwise know as the silver gloves. His father was so proud of him that he bought him a silver necklace with two silver boxing gloves. He wears it all the tiem alogn with his grandfathers dog tags. The chamionship really built up his confidence and when he was fourteen he finally asked out Layla, onyl he'd never go on the date.
The monsters had followed him from Fargo to New Orleans. Desperate huh. He made his presence aware and they flooded in. His father immediately saved him and brought him to the only escape he knew. He told him about camp halfblood and put him on a box car carrying manuer. Of course he didn't dare touch it. He had very few personal belongings but he did have a celestial bronze dagger his father gave him. He had a suitcase of clothes, his laptop, his sketchbook he always kept on him, a small food supply he rationed, a couple of pencils with a sharpener, his cd player with all his music and a butt load of batteries, toilet paper, some materials for building and his construction/mechanics belt that held the tools he most used along with a large net he had put in there one time when he and the family had gone fishing, something that didn't happen too often but it was his first and only ever catch so he kept it for sentimental value. He kept his championship belt in his suitcase as well. The train would stop sometimes, though monsters didn't often show up. Unfortunately soemtiems they did and it as hard for him to figth tyhem. He felt like he was killing somethign living. He felt mercifulness and he didn't want to hurt them. It conflicted with everything he believed about killing. He did what he had to do though and he wants to vow never to do it again but he didn't as he felt that he would have to do it again and again when the time presented itself. It was hard on him and tore him into two different train of thoughts. his survival and his morals. He often chose to fend them off and let them live but they kept comign back. It was a full four days before they finally came to upstate new york from where he hitchhiked all the way to the hill. Though of course the man he hitchhiked was confused and asked him if it was the right place, Danny knew it was the place. It was like his father descirbed. The driver drove away leaving him behind at the foot of the alrge hill as he began to walk up nevertheless being followed by a group of four hell hounds unbeknownst to him at the moment. (This is where I will start off rping)

I, T.K., have made this entirely up. I did not rip somebody else’s application from any site, and have followed the rules accordingly.
And…? Yes.
