RP Sample:Kaylee's head was bent over her Arithmancy assignment reading, eyes following the text with intense concentration, trying desperately to focus on the numbers swimming before her eyes.
"Umph!" She groaned, resting her head on the solid pages. If this had been an extra credit assignment, Kaylee would have dropped it in a minute; but sadly, it wasn't.
"That's what you get for studying too long," she told herself with a sigh, glancing at her watch. She had meant to stop after an hour's work to take a break, but she had now been poring over the textbook for a total of two hours and thirty eight minutes. Yay.
Kaylee carefully placed a bookmark in between the pages she was reading and shut the book, but then thought better of it; instead, whispering a spell. “Memini.” It was a nifty little charm, helped when you had several books to read and no bookmarks. Kaylee liked to use it when she was too lazy to turn pages, though.
Stretching her arms luxuriously, the black haired Ravenclaw made her way out of the library and trotted the halls until she got to the courtyard, one of the only places she could relax a bit.
She glanced around the area, noting that not many people were there. Another Ravenclaw, on a bench nearby her; a couple of Hufflepuffs talking further away. Kaylee skirted both of them and glided to the farthest corner, where a crooked-limbed cherry tree grew low to the ground.
With expertise born of practice, she swung herself up to a nice, almost snow-less branch at a middling height, leaning back onto another branch and smiling a bit. Even in the winter, it was comforting just to be there.

Looks
Hair: Winter has light, wispy, medium-length hair that she is hard put to keep under control. It’s wavy, and a blondish color that is darker at the top but gradually lightens until the end.
Eyes: Winter’s eyes are an almond-shaped gray color. Many people are surprised by how they are almost transparent they are. When she looks at people, it’s like they’re looking into a clear window to her bright soul.
Height: Winter is actually four foot eleven, but she looks a lot smaller due to her petite build.
Weight: 109 lbs.
Picture: Click
Playby: Sierra McCormick
Dressing Style: Winter has always been a laid-back, shy kind of kid, so she’s not big on making fashion statements or standing out of the crowd. But Winter does keep herself looking decent. Most of the time, she can be found in something cute, simple, and sweet. Casual but nice tops and thin jeans are her thing. As for jewelry, she’s not too fond of bulky stuff, but does like an occasional necklace or bracelet. At the camp, she usually avoids doing sporty kinds of things, and so can afford to dress light and comfortable.
General Appearance: Winter is hard to notice, and that’s pretty much all that’s noticeable about her. She’s not ADHD, only middling height, not especially gorgeous, and doesn’t draw attention to herself. However, she’s got the sweetest smile that would make a Fury’s heart melt.
What Makes Them Them
Personality Description:
Up until her arrival at Camp Half-blood, Winter-Joy had just been another shy, introverted kid at Holloway Orphanage. She didn’t have much of a ‘presence’ that some other of the popular kids had. But one thing Winter did have was friends, and plenty of them. Though big crowds weren’t her thing, Winter handled one on one experiences very well. Her calm, compassionate and attentive nature appealed to people who wanted someone to listen to their troubles, and Winter was altogether willingly sympathetic. Even though she had a hard time with the general crowd, since Winter had a deathly fear of being embarrassed, she was usually left alone.
When she came to Camp Half-blood, though, it was all different. For one thing, everything was new to her. Winter did not cope well with new. She had a stutter that came out whenever she felt overly uncomfortable, and hated it. So Winter didn’t talk much at camp. Nor did she try to make any friendships. All these powerful, dangerous people cooped up in the same area definitely made her very jumpy. Though she made a definite commitment to stay unsociable and in the background, though, Winter could not help doing a kind deed here and there; it was in her nature.

-Not being able to heal someone/something she needs to heal; it's her worst nightmare
-being in very high places with no railing
-swimming anywhere
-being singled out
Secrets:
Winter’s mom has been dead for years. At least, she thinks so. But lately, she’s been getting letters, supposedly from her. Most of them don’t have return addresses, and all have arrived in her hands by some kind of curious means. The contents are never very long, nor detailed. Just something like: “Don’t worry about me, Winter,” or “I love you,” or “Be careful.” Just before she came to camp, though, she got an actual recorded Iris message from a real, flesh and blood Marian O’Hara, telling her to stay at camp until she could come and get her. Winter is not sure at all what to do about this, and is keeping the information to herself for now.
She’s also hiding a curse, too. Her music is horrible. She can’t play a note to save her life. That’s another reason Winter is so shy; she can’t bear being embarrassed.
Ambitions:
Winter wants most to become an Infirmary leader, or at least a healer for the camp. She admires the calm efficiency with which the healers go about their job, but knows that she isn’t old enough or experienced enough.
Another secret dream she has is to go on a quest. Again, she knows that she’s neither experienced or old enough, but she really wants to figure out what’s happened to her mom.
Powers:
Greater senses
Voice/Singing Skills
Healing Magics
Family and History
Personal History:
Winter's family history was relatively simple for a half-blood’s. Her mother, Marian O'Hara, was the most talented pianist her little hometown had ever known, and led a charmed life, not entirely due to luck. Marian was very hard-working and persevering, for of course, her remarkable talent could only get her so far. That was the one thing that most endeared her to Apollo when he noticed the vivacious young prodigy fighting against her lack of money and prejudiced authorities. Finally he decided to arrange an ‘accidental’ meeting where they both attended the same concert. They began to talk about music, but ended up discussing various other things too. Marian’s tastes differed greatly from her new acquaintances, but enjoyed a fellow human’s company, as she had been engrossed in accomplishing her ambitions for so very long and neglecting her social life. Apollo, however, was head of heels in love with Miss O’Hara. It wasn’t long before she had a most devoted boyfriend, was well on the way to a sparkling career (which may or may not have been due to her boyfriend’s influence), and had all the vigor and beauty of youth at 23 that she had had at 17. All that was wonderful... until a tragic car crash in which the couple, taking a pleasure ride around the coast, lost control of their car, which spun on black ice and over a cliff. The bodies of the pianist and her boyfriend were never found, but Marian's sister found Winter and a note on her doorstep. So then Winter was raised with her aunt's family. It was not an entirely disagreeable experience, though odd things seemed to happen regularly to the family after she arrived; like the time the family dog supposedly broke his leg and was going to have to be put down… and then they found Winter playing with a very much alive and healthy canine which looked, acted, and seemed to be exactly like their old dog. But of course, that was ridiculous. Still, the family loved Winter very much. Her two older boy cousins were like affectionate older brothers to her, her aunt and uncle loved her like their own, and Winter loved them all. But then THEY got killed in a car crash, so she went to the orphanage for about four years, a disagreeable, dark, gray and gloomy place... and then the orphanage sent her to camp, for reasons completely unknown to her. As soon as she stepped out of the taxi which had taken her to the place, she was met by Chiron, who explained as best as he could and then left her to her own devices.
