RP Sample:The waves lapping onto the shore were gentle and unobtrusive, as though they didn't want to bother anybody by crashing or even really be noticed. It was a disappointment to Amadi, who had faded away from camp to run off to the beach before the demigods were released from the parameters to roam it's shores. The mass of others didn't so much make Amadi uncomfortable as it tended to piss him right the hell off. It was annoying to try and enjoy some peaceful time swimming in the waves, only to have your thoughts interrupted by the high pitched giggles of children. When he had been told they had 'allotted beach time' Amadi had nodded quietly and mentally planned to avoid the public as much as possible.
Satisfied that there was no one around, Amadi pulled his orange Camp Halfblood shirt off over his head and dropped it to the ground. The patchwork of scars across his torso, most faded but a few still clearly recent, now visible in the clear light of the sun. He then kicked off his jeans to reveal the blue board shorts he had been wearing underneath, preparing for this precise moment.
The sun beat down on him, making the cool breeze blowing across the shore not entirely unwelcome. Though that would change once he was wet. Satisfied that his clothes were far enough away from the water's edge should the tide rise drastically, Amadi took a slow breath, then ran into the ocean.
The water's cold welcome was almost enough to elicit a yelp of surprise out of him, though he choked it back in time. He kept moving forward until he was waist-deep in the water, and then dived forward, immersing his head so that he could acclimate faster. This...this was nice. If nothing else of the camp appealed to him, not the people nor the nymphs nor most of the activities...at least the beach was here. Surfacing again, he floated on his back and stared up at the sky.

What Makes Them Them
Personality Description:
It's not so much that Rico doesn't like you as that he doesn't know what to do with you and would really prefer you get out of his way so he can finish his book. Or his studies. Or his video games. But probably his studies. He likes his studies. They make sense. They say what they mean and they don't have emotional...breaking point things that other people seem to have that require attention.
Not to say that Rico is emotionless, mind you, far from it. He just doesn't tend to know how to deal with other people's emotions. Rico's default state is "vaguely annoyed but tolerating" because, although he secretly likes people, he just doesn't seem to connect with them well, and he's not going to make great efforts to because then it might end in embarrassment, and Rico hates to be embarrassed.
Concerning personal matters Rico's strong willed right up to the point where it breaks. There's really no bending involved. He's either 100% about something and his mind won't be changed, or he'll quietly go along with what you want if you manage to break him. This is why he tends to never make decisions on the spot, preferring to take a few hours (or even days) to decide, alone, so that he's not swayed by anyone.
In battle or discussing strategy, it's a different story. He can anticipate those kinds of fake-outs or feints because by and large they all tend to rely on good old-fashioned, trusty logic. Logic's never failed him before or screamed at him for forgetting it's birthday. Logic will be there for him forever. (Except, of course, when he's irrationally angry at his father, or ridiculously upset over a joking insult he took the wrong way, but he'll deny those moments vehemently).

Family and History
Personal History:
It started with Maria, who's story might be much more tragic if she wasn't so filthy rich.
Once upon a time, Maria was a little girl who grew up in the same town as a little boy named Carlos. And their families were very close. Business partners, in fact. And they decided that, in the traditions of ancient aristocracies past, they would merge their two businesses through the marriage of their children. And Maria was in love with Carlos who promised he was in love with Maria, and it was good.
It was good, anyways, up until Carlos hit puberty and subsequently began to proclaim love to anything with a good enough body. And still Maria waited patiently, knowing that her fiance was just going through a phase and getting it all out before their wedding. Because he loved her.
And it seemed that it was true. For a year leading up to their marriage he paid no mind to anyone but her, saved his pleasantries for her ears alone, they didn't have sex but they made love. Then the honeymoon rolled around, and he was already hitting on maids at their hotel. Needless to say, this did not do much for Maria's self confidence. Over the years she'd alternate between raging at Carlos and just being silently depressed, watching as her husband disappeared into guest rooms with his latest squeeze. Leaving him wasn't an option, he'd taken everything she had and refused to let her go. He wasn't completely unkind, he urged her to take lovers of her own, but she refused. His bed was something she shared out of obligation, the unspoken understanding that she would bear him an heir.
That is, of course, until one fateful night. Another flock of girls had made their way into the Marquez Manor, to be entertained by the lord (or more accurately the little lord) and Maria made her way out and into the town, finally ready to take Carlos' permission and meet someone to erase the hate that was building inside her.
And that's where Hades came in. At a club that seemed a little bass-happy, Maria found herself drinking with a stranger who-- after a few martinis-- was no more a stranger but someone who knew nearly her whole life story. And perhaps it was the martinis, but when he invited her back to his hotel, she took the offer and...well... the existence of Rico and Simone should be enough evidence of what happened after that.
Both Carlos and Maria were overjoyed when she plopped out the twins. First the wailing Rico and then the mewling Simone a few minutes later. The couple had finally found something to bring them together, being parents.
The twins childhood was an easy and enjoyable one. Their family was rich, and Carlos was eager to spoil his sons with the affection that his father had never shown to him. They had horses before they could walk, dogs that towered over them until they were nearing the end of their toddler years, vacations to foreign lands at every break.
The finest tutors money could buy were hired to teach the boys, and the best medication money could buy was used to treat their ADD.
In his younger years, Rico was considered a darling with his snarky attitude and impatience for stupidity. As he grew older, it became more of a point of worry. Though his manners were impeccable, he just could not seem to get the hang of actual freestyle interaction with his peers. The boys were sent to the same German boarding school their parents had gone to, and Carlos and Maria hoped it would improve Rico's social skills, but to no such luck. They still received complaints about the way he talked to other students, or how he'd argue with a teacher adamantly on a trivial detail the professor had gotten wrong. Still, they could take comfort in the fact that surely Rico couldn't be the only one there to be quite so...Rico.
Rico did end up making friends of a sort. Not so much actual friends as they were a group of children who met in an empty classroom at lunch to eat together in silence and play their gameboys or read their books.
One might think Rico was a target for bullying, but that was never really the case. He had a certain...air about him that made people too uncomfortable to try and jostle him.
He did, of course, have his dirty little secret, which happened to be a certain oral fixation of his. Being a man of decency and standards, he rarely indulged in it. Unfortunately, going to a boarding school with a bunch of rich kids meant that occasionally study parties would end up requiring much more alcohol than one would expect, and after he imbibed a little too much of it, it wasn't hard for one of his classmates to convince him to perform in front of the camera.
Honestly, after that video got out it was nearly a relief when he and Simone were attacked by an Orthrus over winter break. It was then that Simone discovered his fantastic ability to raise the undead and save the arses of his brother and himself. The water nymph that assisted Simone was kind enough to explain that they were demigods and as such would not be going back to Germany, but going to Camp Halfblood right here in America.

I, Puck, have made this entirely up. I did not rip somebody else’s application from any site, and have followed the rules accordingly.
And…? Yes.
