RP Sample: RP Sample is from Shifter Academy using Tara Felis with Summer's Peeta Taylor - 409 words - just about average. but certainly am known to go well beyond that hahaTara watched as he rose and went to the door. Her heart was pounding, and she wondered if he could hear it. Surely not. She glanced at her dog. Levi still hadn't relaxed any, and she stood up, following Peeta to the door. Room service. Yes, that would explain it. Like Peeta she stuck her head out the door. There was a man walking away. She saw him and her heart stopped. Unlike Peeta, she HAD seen his back. It was the last thing she'd seen before she fell over the railing. It was HIM. It was the Creeper.
Before the lady had returned Tara disappeared into the room again, and waited for Peeta to return before slamming the door shut and locking the dead bolt. She wasn't taking any chances. She went back and sat down, waiting for Peeta. He was asking her something. She focused on his lips, catching the tail end,"Water?"she shook her head. She watched as he moved to lean against the headboard of the bed. He looked comfortable. So she forced a smile and moved to where she was beside him, and tried to force the Creeper out of her thoughts. He wasn't here. He'd been walking the other direction. Heck maybe it wasn't REALLY him and her imagination was just working overtime today. Yes, that was it. Her imagination was going crazy. Maybe it was the medicine. At least that's what she told herself.
She noticed his lips moving and snapped back to attention.Come on Tara, you're losing it, girl.she thought to herself. Twenty Questions? He wanted to play twenty questions. She smiled. She could deal with that. She leaned against him in a way that was comfortable, and she could see his face in the mirror across the room so she could still read his lips even though she wasn't looking directly at him. She made eye contact with him in the mirror so he would realize that's what she was doing, and smiled."You can go first."
While she waited for his first question, she looked at the two of them in the mirror. They looked cute together. They would look good walking around campus together. School. Part of her dreaded going back to that place and having to go back to normal life. With her roommates. But part of her wanted to get back into real life, and enjoy it with Peeta. It wouldn't be so bad.

What Makes Them Them
Personality Description: Adam is kind of quirky.
In general he is a good guy. He can come off as arrogant and conceited sometimes, but he doesn't mean it to be rude. He is just good at what he does and he knows it. He is incredibly smart, and kind of nerdy. He likes a lot of the sci-fi fantasy type shows, and watches those to the borderline of obsession when he's away from camp.
He is usually shy, at least at first, around the ladies, especially since Keelin broke up with him. He is pretty shut off from them now, afraid to let himself fall in love again so that someone can't hurt him again. But that doesn't keep him from being polite. He is generally a perfect gentleman around girls, he treats them the way he wants people to treat his mom, or Keelin. Yes, he still thinks about her. But you generally see him going out of his way to be helpful to females. He automatically defends them, and will do anything to keep them happy.
He is very family oriented. He keeps in almost constant contact with his mom (excepting of course the few weeks during summer when Camp is at it's fullest, but even then he calls or texts her at least once a week.) because he knows she doesn't have anyone else to talk to. He wants badly to have a family when he gets older.
Along with the family comes finding a girlfriend. You have to find a girlfriend before a wife and family. But, he is still messed up from Keelin leaving him that he wont completely let himself love someone else. He's tried, but so far no luck.
He is very good with weapons since he has been training here since he was young, he is also a very skilled pick pocket since his father is Hermes, although he is picky about what he picks. He is also very organized. He keeps his things put together and has an amazing memory.
He likes to work, and I mean physically. He loves the weapons training and working around the camp. He just enjoys being physically phit.
Likes:
'Science Fiction and Fantasy TV shows
'Stealing the occasional object. Rarely of huge monetary value (huge being more than a couple hundred bucks), and even more rarely something of sentimental value.
'Training. He loves the physical work involved.
'Rain. It's relaxing.
'The occasional theft. He is a son of Hermes afterall.
Dislikes: 5+
'SOMETIMES working with kids. They are occassionally annoying.
'Extreme ends of the thermometer. He likes days to be in the 40's-70's range. Anything above or below and he's miserable.
'Dancing. He's good at it when he wants to be, but he feels kind of stupid sometimes.
'People that steal large items (i.e. tv's, computers, etc, just big expensive stuff)
'Kids ganging up on another kid. He's a sucker for the underdogs, and he'll always back the kid up.
Fears: 3+
'Something happening to his mom.
'A crazy attack on the camp.
'Fears rejection in romantic prospects.
Secrets: 1+
'Still misses Keelin.
Ambitions: 2+
'Wants to try and get Keelin back.
'Wants to be a good friend and mentor to the kids at camp.
Powers: Natural Thief, has a gift for remembering and keeping up with messages.
Family and History
Personal History:
Jacklyn Smith lead a difficult life. Her mother died from cancer when she was very young, and she was left with her dad to care for her. For the first few years, everything went...okay. Not well, but nothing was as bad as it could have been.
When Jacklyn reached her teen years, her father started drinking. He drank a lot. She had always enjoyed school, enjoyed socializing and enjoyed learning, but as her father deteriorated she was forced to drop out of school in order to get a full time job so that they could keep bills paid and food on the table. She was miserable.
She began taking every opportunity she could to get out of the house, spend time on her own. She began walking. She lived in a busy area, and eventually started knocking into people, because she didn't feel like getting out of their way. One day she bumbed into a lady. She nearly fell over, but the lady grabbed her wrist to steady her before continuing on her way. As Jacklyn walked away from the encounter, she looked into her hands. There was a ring in her hands, it had slipped off the lady's hand when she'd helped Jacklyn.
Jacklyn turned, seaking to return the ring to its owner, but the lady had long since disapeared in the crowd. She looked down at the ring. Slowly an idea began to form in her mind.
She began stealing. She picked pockets, wrist watches, bracelets, rings, anything that was easy to take without notice. She got good. Fast. She sold what she found to various people and was able to make a slightly better life for herself. But one day she made a mistake.
She was walking, scouting for her next victim, when she saw him. He was dressed in a business suit. He was handsome, maybe a couple of years older than her. He had a watch on his wrist. It was a nice watch. If she could get it she could probably feed her dad and herself for a couple weeks. She prepared to do her thing.
She kept walking until she was a couple of feet away from them, then tripped. As most people did, he reached out to steady her, and the watch was hers. "Are you ok?"
His voice was deep, and rich, but she simply nodded. She stood up and shook her head as if disoriented. She had perfected the act over the past few years. She started to walk away but he jerked her back to him. "Excuse me. I believe you have something of mine."
She glared at him and shoved the watch into his hands. His eyes gleamed as he smirked at her. "Hey, don't be angry. I invented pick pocketing."
She rolled her eyes. "Yeah. Right."
He chuckled. "You may want to be more careful about whose pockets you pick. Not everyone is as lenient as I am."
He was still smirking and it made her all that much angrier. She narrowed her eyes, "Sure. I'll keep that in mind."
With that she turned and stormed off. She got home and went straight into her room and flopped down onto her bed. She didn't understand why he had affected her so. She'd been caught plenty of times, especially when she was just starting. But this guy had gotten under her skin.
After a few minutes she sighed and stood up. She moved to take her jacket off and paused. Something was in her coat pocket. She reached and pulled out a watch. No. Not A watch. THE watch. That jerk had put it in her pocket when she left! She glared at the watch and practically threw it down on the dresser. She didn't take hand outs.
She fumed over that incident for several days. But it wasn't until a few days later that things got strange. She had almost gotten over it. Almost forgotten about it, when he showed up again.
She was sitting at her usual booth at the corner dinner near her house. She was sipping at her coffee, and reading the newspaper when suddenly someone slid in across from her. She glanced over her paper and then slammed it down on the table. "You! What are you doing here!?"
He was dressed more casually now. Jeans and a polo shirt. She crossed her arms and leaned against the back of her seat, and glared at him, waiting for a response.
He was silent for a few seconds, and seemed to be studying her intently. She wondered what he was thinking, and was about to ask when he finally spoke. "You interest me."
She cocked an eye brow and almost leaned forward except she remembered she was supposed to be angry with him. Angry people didn't show interest in the other person's conversations. She forced herself to keep the glare, and snorted. "And why is that?"
He shrugged. "Irrelevent. Point is, I want to talk to you for a few mintues. Just a conversation."
Jacklyn narrowed her eyes but allowed herself to relax. And then they started talking. The conversation went on for hours. She went through five cups of coffee, and would have drank more, but the mysterious man took her cup away when she started getting jittery from the caffine. "Maybe you should switch to decaf."
She just laughed. After a while she decided it was time for her to get home, and he offered to walk her. She nodded, and the two of them headed back to her house.
Several weeks later she again sat at her booth in the dinner. She had only seen him a few times since that night, but tonight she had something to tell him. Assuming he showed up. She never really knew when he would and wouldn't, it seemed to be random but she figured he knew what he was doing.
She had just picked up the paper to start reading when a familiar shape slid into the booth across from her. "Hey."
He seemed different this time, almost as if he already knew what she was going to say. She wasted no time and told him quickly, almost babbling as she spoke. When she had finished he said nothing for a few minutes, and then, "Well, I knew this would happen."
He went on to explain about who he was, and what would become of the unborn child that Jacklyn carried. He explained to her that things would happen that she wouldn't be able to understand completely. After he had finished, it was her turn to sit in stunned silence.
He watched her, concern showing in his gaze as he waited for her to reply. After a moment she sighed. "So....you weren't kidding when you said you invented pick pocketing?"
He laughed. "I just told you that I'm a God, and that your child is going to be...different, and that's what you ask me?" He chuckled again before finally answering. "But no, I wasn't kidding."
She was still stunned, but after a few more seconds she nodded. "Well. Cool."
They talked for a few more hours before she went home, alone this time. And several months later Adam was born.
She changed a lot after he was born. She got a legitament job, and moved out of her father's apartment, forcing him to get himself together. She tried to leave the life of theivery behind, but let's face it, it's slightly addictive.
So, she ended up teaching Adam how to do it too, once he got old enough. Being a Son of Hermes, it came naturally to him. But, she also taught him his maners, edicate, and basically how to be a gentleman, but that didn't stop him from goofing off every once in a while.
When he was eleven the satyrs found him, and he was taken to Camp Half Blood. With training he became an excellent fighter, and that was how his life went. He spend his school years with his mom, and summers at camp. Everything was pretty much the same.
He of course excelled with the weapons training, and thoroughly enjoyed it. Capture the flag was by far his favorite activity, and it was after one of these games that his father finally claimed him. It was his second year at camp, and he had been on the winning team. He had been the one to steal the other teams flag and he had been the one to complete the play. That of course excited him to know end. He was proud of himself, and celebrated with his team. During the team's victory dance, he was claimed.
Of course he was estatic not to have to move out of the hermes cabin where he had made several friends, and life went on as usual.
Until he met Keelin. Maybe it was just that he noticed her for the first time, but in his late teens, he couldn't get enough of her. He still remembers the night they spent in the Apollo cabin. It had been risky, but it had been magnificent.
About a month later she disappeared. Adam was worried sick, and tried to get the camp staff to let him go look for her, and he was about to take off without permission (wouldn't be the first time) when she suddenly returned.
Something was wrong. He didn't know what, or why, but she was acting differently. It wasn't long after that that she broke up with him. His world fell around him.
He tried to stay at camp. He tried to keep training. But everything he did and everywhere he looked reminded him of Keelin. He would see her around camp sometimes, and have to pretend that he didn't care. He hated it. He couldn't stand it. After a while he couldn't take it anymore and left.
He spent several years with his mom, helping her when and however she needed it. But eventually he grew bored of trying to live a normal life, so he came back to camp to be a counselor.
