General Appearance: Most days she wears the said jeans and t-shirts. But every once in a while she surprises people with a nice sundress, or khaki colored slacks and nice blouse. She likes bright colored clothes because she thinks they look good on her skin tone. She doesn’t have any piercings except for her ears, and she is scared to get a tattoo, mainly because she doesn’t know what she would want to have on her body permanently for the rest of her life. As far as make up goes she is usually very natural if she wears any at all. She will wear the base foundation, natural shades of eye shadow and eye liner, and of course natural shades of lip gloss. She doesn’t like to wear bright colors on her face, so she usually keeps it natural. So she doesn’t wear too much make up unless it is a special occasion such as a school dance or something of that nature. She loves to wear jewelry. She layers it sometimes, almost to the point of looking tacky, but it usually comes out looking pretty good. She just loves coordinating it and accessorizing. What Makes Them ThemPersonality Description:
Tara tends to be kind of shy. She really doesn't like to be the center of attention, and when she starts to feel that way she gets nervous and sometimes overwhelmed if she's in a large crowd. She is also very insecure. Since her sister left, she feels that maybe she wasn't good enough for her sister to stay with her, so she became fairly reclusive, and doesn't open up to people easily.
Once she gets to know someone she is a lot of fun to be around. She loves to go shopping, and she and her friends go most every weekend. They gawk at the guys like most any sixteen year old girl, and search the mall for the perfect accessories.
No matter how she tries though, she cant deny her dark side. She misses her sister more than anything, and she finds herself playing with the necklace her sister gave her years before several times a day. She feels extreme guilt and anger about that whole situation.
Her mother is very important to her. Nora is the only person Tara has left now, so she is always worried about her mom disappearing on her. She has nightmares all the time, about things that could happen to her mom, sometimes she has nightmares about possible things that may have happened to Tara.
But overall she is a good girl. She has honesty like some people have incurrable diseases. She is a horrible lier, and if she does try to lie about something she feels horrible. She's also a do-gooder. If she sees a way that she can help someone she usually does, but she's also realistic in the way that she knows when people won't care if she helps or won't even notice, and those times she usually just leaves them on her own.

'Large Crowds - Too many lips to read, it almost gives her a headache. Plus she get's paranoid.

Nora was a very beautiful woman. She lived and grew up in a very small town in Oregon, and lived on a farm that had acres and acres of trails, crossing both forests and beaches. Because of this farm she grew up around horses, breeding and showing even from a young age.
When she was in her early twenties her parents died in a tragic accident, and left the farm to her, so she was alone in the world, with a huge farm to run.
It wasn't terribly long after that when she met him. She was gone for a ride on her favorite horse, Imperial Dynasty who was one of her farm's prized registered quarter horses, on one of the beach trails when she saw a stranger. He had been riding a horse of his own, which would later come to be known as Umbra, and claimed to have found the private beach by mistake. He said his name was William.
Of course the two fell in love, they had a wonderful relationship but he never told her the truth about himself. He never told her who he was, or what any children they had would become. And then a couple of years later, Sara and Tara were born. She was thrilled to have some additions to their little family, but once she told him she was pregnant he regretibly told her that he had to leave. She never saw him again.
The girls grew up a normal life for the first several years, although it was obvious from the start that Tara was deaf. Nora adapted to this of course, and even went with her daughter to speech classes, where Tara learned to read lips and talk like anyone else, and sign language classes.
Nora often drug Sara to these classes as well, of course it wasn't that difficult. The twins were almost unseperable. Sara was incredibly protective of her deaf twin, and they rarely did anything or went anywhere alone.
They were always together. They learned to swim together, learned to ride, and once they grew old enough to play alone outside, they would often go out into the forest and play games. But perhaps their favorite things to do was play in the ocean at the beach, and ride their horses.
When they were seven years old, Nora allowed them each to pick out one horse that would be "theirs." They of course were estactic, so the two girls ran out into the barn to decide which horses they would choose. It didn't take them long to decide.
Since they were demigods, they could see through the mist, so they knew that two of the horses at their mother's stable were Pegasi, and they of course picked those. Sara picked out a black mare which she called Nacht, while Tara's was a beatiful dapple grey male that was called Shura.
The two girls would often go riding together, and when their mother wasn't looking, would even get to go flying on their Pegasi. Shura and Tara became very close, and Shura was very protective of his rider since she was deaf.
It wasn't long before something strange began to happen, and it suprised Tara greatly. She was in the stall with Shura, grooming him, when suddenly she heard something. Well, not exactly heard. Oh yeah, right there.
She'd paused in her grooming, surprised and confused. Shura bobbed his head, and Tara could only assume he was nickering. Don't be afraid. It's just me.
"Shura?"
The great horse nodded, and Tara hugged him. She was so excited she could barely contain herself, and once she had finished she ran to her sister and immediately told her what had happened. Sara had already known about that, but showed excitement for her sister's discovery.
The two girls spent even more time in the woods together and with their horses. After a while they began to notice things. Out of the corner of their eyes they would see large things moving. One time they were straight up attacked by a huge dog, and if Nacht and Shura hadn't been there, Tara is convinced they would have died. After that incident they ran home and told their mother.
A few months later, the night before their tenth birthday, she went in to bed earlier than Sara because she wasn't feeling well. She was tired, so she hugged her sister goodnight early and went into bed. The next morning they had a marvelous party, with a few friends, cake, and ice cream. And those annoying buzzy noise things that Tara was really glad she couldn't hear because everyone around her was shoving their fingers in their ears. Her sister gave her a necklace that she still wears to this day.
They had a marvelous day, and then the next day came, and it was even better. Sara and Tara did all of their usual things, went riding/flying, they went swiming. Then the night came. They got into some arguement, Tara doesn't even remember what it was about anymore, and they both got so frustrated. Eventually they worked it out of course, they always did. But had Tara known that was the last time she'd ever see Sara she never would have continued the arguement.
The next morning, Tara woke up to find Sara gone. She ran out to the barn to find that Nacht was gone too. She asked Shura to tell her where they had gone, but the great horse claimed not to know. Tara ran back into the house to tell her mom. Both of them were quite distraught and searched everywhere near by for days. It was a few weeks later when Nora told Tara that her sister was probably dead.
Tara almost died herself over the next few months. She alternated between her bedroom and Shura's stall. She quit going on rides, she quit going to the beach. She barely ate except the bare minimum needed to survive. She was miserable. She didn't know what to do with herself. Her whole life had been "Sara and Tara" never just Sara or Tara. They had done everything together. They had all the same friends, hobbies, everything. Now she was just Tara.
One day, and she doesn't exactly know how long it was after Sara died, but she knows it was a long time, Shura had had enough. The pegasus forced her to the beach, and into the water. Tara immediately felt better. She wasn't sure why, or how, but the water just energized her in a way that she hadn't felt in months. She went up to her room afterwards, and put on the necklace her sister had given her for her birthday, and never took it off after that.
On the positive side, since her sister had died the monsters stopped coming. She rarely saw them, occassionally she would see something out of the corner of her eye, but they never got any closer than that.
Eventually she moved on with her life. She found new friends, some that didn't remind her of her lost sister, and as all girls do she became interested in boys. Forever was her sister's absence more than obvious. Not a day went by that Tara didn't think of her sister, and wonder why she left.
She honestly feels that it's her fault. She thinks Sara left because of their fight. The two had rarely fought, but when they did they were intense. Tara feels that it's her fault Sara left and therefore her fault Sara died. She lives with that guilt and refuses to let go of it, despite Nora's constant assurances that it wasn't her fault.
A few days after her sixteenth birthday, she made a new friend named Ralph. He was kind of odd really, and walked weird, but he was alright, and the two began talking and hanging out outside of class. One day, the two had gone for a walk on the beach near her house, and suddenly were attacked by a monster that Tara doesn't really even know how to describe. She knows it was ugly, with huge wings, but beyond that she can't find the words to describe the horror of it.
Ralph suddenly became a crazy warrior person, defeated the monster after a battle that also horrified Tara on it's own. When the monster was defeated, and had bursted into a cloud of gold dust, Ralph came over to her. "Come on, it's time for you to go."
He lead her quickly home, and had a conversation with her mom as she was sent upstairs to gather clothes. When she came back downstairs her mother was crying. "Not in sadness," she had told her, "But in happiness. You'll be happy again soon. You'll see."
Tara doubted that. She was being ripped away from everything she'd ever known. She was allowed to bring Shura, but that was little to assure her. It wasn't long before they finally made it to Camp Half Blood.
Along the journey, Ralph told her some about what was going on. The whole time he was smirking, as if he knew something that Tara didn't, and that frustrated her to know end, but he did tell her that the god's were real. That she was the daughter of one of them.
Now she is arriving at Camp Half Blood, and she knows that her life is about to change. But she has no idea how much.
