Do you hear what I hear?
A song, a song high above the trees.

A star, a star shining in the night.
Mitch got out of his bed an hour before the party. He had slept all day so that he wouldn't be tired one bit at the party. He yawned as he got up, an after-effect of sleeping so long. He ran a hand through his hair which probably looked like bed head at the moment. The rest of his cabin mates were already up and at their routine. He looked around, sleepiness still putting him in a groggy state as he grabbed a towel and headed into the bathroom. They both started to laugh and he broke into a grin. They danced for awhile until he decided to go in search of Katrina. he stared to walk away with a slight nod to her when she stopped him.
The shower succeeded in waking up the young boy. The warm water had done wonders, and the cold at the beginning had too. Well it shocked him at least. Whoever had used it before had probably used all the hot and he had had to wait until it was warm again, which meant suffering in cold water for a while. He looked in the mirror for a minute before walking out. He had half an hour left. That was plenty of time though. His eyes scanned his clothes in his closet. He didn't really have a suit, so to say, but he could get close to it.
He started off with black pants. They were jeans, not slacks. But they looked nice nonetheless. With those on, he looked at his shirts. He could go with white, but then again, wouldn't every other guy have a white shirt? Why not stand out? He grasped a black dress shirt that he had, the arms were long and he buttoned the end of them to fit them snugly on him. He tucked this in to the pants. He put on some black shoes. Out of the ones that he had, they were the nicest looking.
A royal blue tie added some color to the blackness that adorned Mitch. It was already pre-tied since he would've had no idea how to tie it in the first place. He never had learned how and his sister surely didn't know how. Thinking of his sister made him smile. She was being forced by him to come. Otherwise she would've just sat in her cabin. But now, he had forced her hand and MADE her go. No matter how much she didn't want to. She needed this. She needed to get back into the fun girl that he knew her as.
He sprayed on some Issue No. 1 cologne. But not too much. He hoped to hang out with Katrina and he didn't want her nose being overwhelmed by the smell. It smelt woodsy to him, and he liked it. A smile bigger than the one he had for Summer appeared when he thought of Katrina. It really did suck that she was a huntress. She was really sweet and kind and funny. He really liked her. But there was nothing he could do about it. He looked to his nightstand where the blue box sat wrapped in a red and green bow. He had gotten her as his Secret Santa recipient. Quite ironic really. But inside were some gifts that he hoped she would like.
Sure she couldn't see them, but she could feel them. He could describe them too her as well. They went perfectly with her mom. Even though she never got claimed, he could see that she was in fact a Demeter girl. So in the box were four little gifts. The three that went together were little golden turtle doves, the sacred bird of Demeter, and an emblem of Christmas itself. There was a necklace, bracelet, and a pair of earrings. Each had the two turtle doves facing each other, with the wings touching on the bracelet and necklace. The fourth was very special. It was an iPod Nano 5. And it had one song on it. Of course she could add more to it, but this song was special. In fact it wasn't a song at all.
It was static noise. That way she could sit in silence and read, or sleep, or relax without having all the distracting noises around her that were amplified by her loss of one of her senses. He went back to dressing himself after slipping the box inside his pants. He would hand deliver it to her. He slipped on a silver skull ring onto his left hand. Then next he grabbed a gray hat and slung it on his head. He had flattened out his hair with a comb and now he curled the ends up so that they pointed slightly towards the hat. He tilted it to the side a bit and then walked out of the cabin towards the party.
Upon arriving he glanced at all the decorations and smiled. This place looked wonderful. He walked around staring at the different couples, food, drinks, and gifts. He saw his sister standing to the side and he walked over and pulled her onto the dance floor. "Mitch. Come on, you know I don't like dancing." He rolled his eyes and smirked at her. "Yes. But you will dance with your younger brother because you love him. Even though he forced you into this."
"Remember what I told you Mitch. Be careful with her; don't get her or you into trouble. I couldn't stand seeing my baby brother hurt." She hugged him and he hugged her back, but when she kissed him on the cheek he faked a grimace and stuck his tongue out at her. "I know Summer. Don't worry, I'm smarter than I look thanks to you." With a final smile, he walked off in search of Katrina. He turned back once and laughed when he saw his sister dancing by herself.
When he finally saw Katrina he let out a little snicker. He went up behind her and covered her eyes. Useless and he knew it, but it made it all the more funny for her as he tried unsuccessfully to lower his voice to change it a bit. "Guess who?" He said a laugh coming through his voice slightly.[/blockquote]
