After spending the whole night in the Forge, Avon decided it was time to get some fresh air. Before leaving the room, he checked if everything was where it belongs. His eyes scanned over the room and with a final nod, he went out, closing the door behind him.
It was still dark outside but a faint orange colored curtain was already visible. The Hephaestus boy yawned and stretched his arms. With one hand he went through his hair and then straightened his clothes. Where to go, what to do? He asked himself. A nice spot to relax would be perfect. He didn’t want to return to his cabin – not yet. The fresh air was more comfortable than the rusty, oily and metallic smell of the Hephaestus cabin. Not that he disliked it. But after pulling an all-nighter in the Forge it he welcomed a change.
Since not many campers where awake he decided to go to his usual spot. It should be empty for now. Johnavon walked towards the North woods, his arms crossed behind his head. It was definitely a good day to take a break. Maybe not the whole day but for the moment it seemed nice.
He made his way through the trees trying to avoid to get hit by branches. The boy was well aware of monsters hanging around here and the possibility of him getting attacked out of nowhere, but he knew his way around here as it is his favorite spot. He chose a place near a small creek. It was usually a monster-free zone. But just in case he brought a dagger with him, which he hid in his jacket.
Finally, he reached the place where he wanted to be. A grin surfaced on his face. No one else was roaming around. Even with monsters it was pretty quiet. Maybe that was weird, but who cares. It’s the moment that counts. Avon zipped up his jacket, a cold breeze blowing at his face. He leaned against a tree, hands in his jeans pocket and eyes fixed on the water flowing through the small creek.
Closing his eyes, he concentrated on the sound the water made. He sometimes draws inspiration from this place and sometimes he just hangs around, doing nothing. He needed an idea for a new project he started recently. Maybe spending some time here could help.
Something felt strange though. His ADHD kicked in when he heard a noise but he kept his eyes closed. Not moving, the camper paid all his attention to the noise to figure out where it came from. He figured that it’s not a monster that made this noise. They would probably attack without hesitating. He couldn’t be bothered to take a look but then again, he did want to know who was stalking him.
"Hello there, what reason do you have to be stalking me?", he simply said and finally turned around to see who it was.
