Amadi liked the climbing wall, if for no other reason than that most other campers seemed to avoid it. Theoretically he could see why- lava baths weren't quite in style and usually led to rather horrible disfiguration that, if you lived through it, would probably cause some embarrassing commotion once you went out in public. It might be cool, though, at the very least it would make your mortal enemies tremble in fear at the site of your grotesque, warped body. Monsters, however, he was sure might just invite you over for dinner as their new friend.
Another burst of lava erupted from the peak, topping off the flow that had become a trickle and reminding Amadi that he hadn't come here just to gawk like an idiot. The boy took a deep breath, and then another. There was always the brief, sickening feeling of 'what if this time...'. But he pushed it aside quickly. if he hesitated during such a simple exercise as a climbing wall it would be all too easy for him to hesitate during a more critical time like a battle. He scowled to himself, if he didn't know better he'd think he was growing soft.
One last exhalation and Amadi launched himself at the wall, ignoring the low, creepy growling noise that seemed to be coming from somewhere nearby. It was just another one of the walls stupid tricks. He wasn't afraid of it. Stupid noise. He was better than that.
Hand over hand, Amadi began his ascent. Slow and steady as opposed to rushed and haphazard. A normal climbing wall might mean that he lost his grip and dangled, but on this wall rushing it would probably mean falling into the lava and serious injury.

notes- rushed, but hopefully someone will still join.
