This was perhaps the most perfect time of the day. The sun had not yet risen over the horizon, but it was on its way. The actual shade of the sky was a lightish navy blue that seemed to merge into a soft orange as it began to meet the line that split the landscape. At this time, two bright stars could be seen. It was probable that they were both planets. More likely Venus and another. Not that that mattered in the slightest. What was priority to the peace of ones mind was that it was extremely unlikely that anyone would be up so early. Many demigods within camp favored a long night's sleep. To Jamie Leigh, however, it was a chance to write without being interrupted and without anyone finding out. It was absolutely perfect.
Only twenty minutes earlier, Jamie had awoken. She had pulled herself out of bed and slipped on some clothes. Just the general attire for a demigod of Camp Half Blood. The plain orange shirt and blue jeans. Admittedly, it wasn't the nicest set of clothes. But it was so early in the morning, that honestly... Jamie didn't care. Once she had dressed, she pulled her writing book from its hiding place and a couple of pens before quietly sneaking out of the cabin and making her way to Fireworks Beach. Upon arrival, she randomly picked a spot and sat herself down. Pulling her knees up to her chest and resting her writing book upon the top of them. She opened it to the last page she had been writing on, took one of her pens and continued the story.
Since then, she was still writing. Her muse was constant and her story only continued to write itself. Upon her lips, she held a broad smile. It was unusual how writing about such horror and fear could make her so happy. Jamie loved to throw her protagonists into situations in which they could be tortured. Not literally tortured. But emotionally, and sometimes physically, in another sense of the word. Using the genre of horror, perhaps even romance entwined within, it was the perfect excuse for such torture. It was fun to write and fun to imagine. It also meant that Jamie wasn't so easily scared. She was already used to horrifying situations and monsters. Of course, that meant that she tended to think too much of things. Her imagination was overactive. She could imagine anyone to be what they weren't, and imagine any situation to be what it clearly wasn't.
Gradually, the sky turned paler and the colors of both blue and orange began to merge even more. Dawn was most certainly coming. And it wouldn't be long. Perhaps another ten minutes or so. Jamie's pen stopped for a few moments, as she considered her options. It was safe to say that another few hours were yet to pass before any other demigod was going to wake up. Jamie knew she could sneak back to the cabin and slip under the blankets before the others were to awaken. No one would then have to know that she had been outside. Even still, her options for the next fifteen minutes were as follows: continue writing until the the sun was starting to show, or to stop writing and just... daydream until she knew the sun was going to rise, at which point she would watch it for another five minutes to get the blissful feel of it and then continue writing until she had to return to her cabin. Jamie could probably write another chapter or so of her story before bringing it to an end for the day, continuing it at a similar time the next day... then the next, and so on. But she would have to keep being careful in her actions. The idea that someone could find her here and read what she was writing scared her greatly. They would know who she was. And they would mock her for it. It wasn't normal to write such things. And she couldn't stand the thought of being judged for it. Desperately, as she decided to wait to watch the sun rise, she hoped that upon her daily secret visits to the beach she would never be discovered. That she would never be found. This was her time to be alone and uninterrupted. It was exactly what made it so peaceful here. Exactly why she loved it.
notes: Well, here we go. xD I hope it's okay ;D
