RP Sample: (a little long :/ but I can write this much)The late June air in Hogsmeade was nearly unbearably humid. The merciless sun beat down on everybody there, and the humidity seemed to enjoy watching its victims suffocate as it enveloped their lungs. Alice herself couldn't stand either of the two — she would have preferred a cold, rainy, stormy day complete with flashing lightning than the weather that was having its way right now. She was getting sunburned and her normally bouncy blond hair hung limply looking completely gross because of the heat and thick air, even though she had washed it just that morning. She was glad to enter the post office's realms, with its colder air and halfway serenity. She had originally been working on her summer essays for school and drinking an icy lemonade at The Three Broomsticks, but some idiots had decided to order butterbeer. Those guys were at the table adjacent to her, and the steam had wafted over. She just hadn't been able to deal.
And then there was her family's comedy club. It was always packed these days, and the smell of warm food and alcohol always lingered. Add the corny jokes at night and the heavy dance music that throbbed in your eardrums, and the place was unbearable to be within a ten-yard radius of, especially in the summertime, when the humid air alone set you off and loud, suffocating noises and smells made you want to scream. And the Connollys' club was the kind of place that attracted witches that practically bathed in strong perfume.
Yeah, Alice was steering clear of the place.
She clutched her thick letter, hoping the ink on the front wouldn't smudge onto her hand or outfit, which consisted of frayed denim shorts and a black tank top. That morning, she had abandoned the ordeal of trying to find shoes that matched while simultaneously being confortable and simply shoved on her pale green flip-flops, which definitely didn't match the dress but didn't set her feet on fire. She hoped it didn't look completely horrible, even though it most likely did. As the temperature had been constantly ricocheting upwards, she had begun to care less and less about looking nice and more and more about... not boiling in her clothing.
She strolled over to the portion of the post office that held... owls. Lots and lots of owls, from tiny ones restricted to local deliveries to huge ones that looked like they might swoop down and use you as their lunch instead of deliver your letter. She scanned the hundreds of owls available to use as your messenger, and finally selected a medium-sized one whose feathers were primarily dark brown, with speckles of light brown dotting it throughout. Coaxing it to hold out its leg, Alice tied her letter, addressed to Gypsy DeVine, onto the scaly limb fairly quickly. Paying with a Sickle, she watched as the owl flew away... as she backed up, she recognized a familiar face. A fifth-year Ravenclaw like herself.
Aside from the obvious exception, her many siblings, Alice hadn't seen any other Hogwarts students, let alone those that were friends, since school had gotten out. So maybe that was a mere week ago, but still. She was starved for conversation. "Donald!" she exclaimed, strolling over to the boy she had seen. "Hey."
General Information
Full Name: Kadence Iola Walker. She usually goes by Kady; she considers Kadence a snotty rich-girl name.
Gender: Female
Birthday: November 21, 1995
Age: Kady is seventeen years old.
Camp Experience: About five years.
Sexual Orientation: Asexual
Claim Status: Kady has been claimed.
Divine Parent: Aphrodite; she also has several drops of Athena blood in her.
Looks
Hair: Kady's hair used to be very long until she decided spontaneously to hack it all off in defiance of her siblings. It is blond and shiny and the envy of some of her friends, and she wears it around her shoulders. She will sometimes do some special things with it but for the most part it simply falls down, styled in choppy layers.
Eyes: Per her bit of Athena heritage, Kady has grey eyes. Per her Aphrodite heritage, they are wide and often naturally look as though she has enhanced them with makeup. She is a fan of black eyeliner and often wears this and this only — she doesn't need to enhance her lashes.
Height: Kady is five feet seven inches tall.
Weight: Kady weighs roughly 133 lbs.
Picture: Click
Playby: Madilyn/Maddie Bailey
Dressing Style: Though Kady doesn't normally go for the froufrou designer looks some of her siblings favor, she does care about her clothing and the way she looks and will, quite honestly, spend a lot of money on clothes. She usually goes for darker colors and looser fits, and will often be seen wearing black and white in various combinations. She is also a fan of big, artsy earrings. In addition to hues like black and white, she favors silver, and will often be seen wearing grey or silver. Never try and force her into a dress; it will not end well. I can guarantee you that.
General Appearance: Chances are, if you saw Kady on the street or somewhere similar, you would be a little intimidated. She plucks her brows so as to look intimidating (she likes being in charge), and her tall, slim, angular figure adds to the image. Kady is nearly always found in not-so-colorful designs, and when some people see this, they think of her as emotionless...to some extent, she is, but on the other hand, she really isn't — it really depends.
Kady never slouches and holds her head up high...this doesn't mean she looks happy as much as she looks a little menacing. A lot of people tend to steer clear. She is usually calm but some get afraid she'll pounce or bite them in the beck or something.
What Makes Them Them
Personality Description: The first thing you should know about Kady is that she is extremely cynical of pretty much everyone. She's not the kind of person that will ask you what your name is on the first day of school; she's more like the person who sits in the back of the class with all of the troublemaking boys and doesn't answer any questions.[/li][li]Classical music
Not that Kady is at all similar to those troublemaking schoolboys. She's quite the opposite — not in the tattletale sense, but she will never ever burp on command or draw comics filled with blood and gore or continually interrupt the people in charge. She's actually very mature — sometimes alarmingly so — and will roll her eyes mercilessly at the kind of person who does this sort of thing. But as much as she despises that kind of person, she will never hate people more than she hates stereotypical, girly teenagers.
You know the kind I mean. Those who spend whole days inside Forever 21 or can be found in little clumps gossiping during lunchtime or spend an hour flat-ironing their hair in the morning. Even though Kady cares about how she looks, she isn't like this — she doesn't need friends to function, and she doesn't care. Nor does she want them at all. She sees friends as people who simply turn their back on you once they get close enough.
Kady is extremely quiet, though there is plenty going on inside her head. Since she doesn't have friends (or when she does, rejects them), she really doesn't have anyone to talk to. This often makes her angry, even though she doesn't realize that her lack of people close to her is a big part of it. Though she is ordinarily very calm and generally indifferent, she will occasionally just completely lose it. At these times, her powers may lash out uncontrollably. And by that, I don't mean just generally demigod powers, but her power to offend people. This turns people off plenty.
Kady is extremely clever and smart. In school, she was somewhat of a nerd, but...well, a mysterious nerd. Not exactly a loser, but friendless all the same. But she put her brains to good use...if elementary school had valedictorians, she would have been the one of her year. If she were a Hermes child, you can bet she'd come up with very elaborate, wonderfully crafted pranks.
Kady does have a heart. A one veiled in darkness, but one all the same. She would never try and physically hurt another living being — in this way she is a horrible fighter. She's a vegetarian and doesn't have plans of stopping.

Dislikes:
- Steretypical people with no imagination
- Preppy people/things
- Mainstream pop music
- Being synesthetic
- Hunters of Artemis (despite the fact that she could probably be one)
Fears:
- Thunder and lightning
- Dying young
- Fighting (shhh)
Secrets:
- Her asexuality (she is asexual in the emotional sense). It's pretty obvious to those who know her well but she has never gone up to anyone and just said "Hey. I'm asexual."
- She loves acting and singing. Again, it's not like it's private, but nobody really knows unless they've seen her do one or both.
Ambitions:
- To live for a long time
- To become an actress or a singer (nobody really knows this)
Powers:
- Like many other Aphrodite kids, she can control love to some extent. However, she doesn't do this when it involves herself — mostly it's to get people into snicker-worthy situations for all the world to see.
- She is resistant to charmspeak.
- Per her Athena heritage, she is very strategic.
Family and History
Personal History: Nate Hunter was a young man in his twenties who was obsessed with making it in the entertainment scene. He'd been featured and introduced in several made-for-DVD-and-video movies, but had yet to even audition for any real, big deals. He wanted to, but he didn't know how to go about it, and his agent wasn't exactly the cream of the crop.
One Tuesday night in February, he attended a seminar for small actors and actresses — those who were not yet a big deal or household name but wanted to achieve these levels of fame. The seminar was filled with blond, lipsticked women fresh out of college. In fact, there were only two other males in the seminar.
The person who was conducting the seminar was Aphrodite; she introduced herself as Felicia Booker, an agent and model. She had unconsciously started to Charmspeak, and Nate was quite entranced by everything she said. The males in the class were unconsciously staring at this goddess with wide eyes; the women were raising their heavily plucked eyebrows, taking notes, and smiling ridiculously at Felicia. At the end of the class, Felicia asked Nate to stay back and blatantly asked him if he wanted to sleep over with him. That was it.
Aphrodite was one of those people who just saw the surface. And Nate's surface...well, Nate was hot and no woman could deny it. Aphrodite's heavily lashed eyes had persistently flickered back to him every few seconds during the seminar. Accepting because of the aftereffects of Charmspeak, Nate staggered off as though drunk. He left in the morning and never saw Aphrodite ever again. He knew what had happen, but tried to push it out of his mind.
That was impossible to do when the golden basket drifted down one morning in November.
The basket was beautiful. Shining and golden with a large lily nestled in it, near a blanket. Intrigued, Nate folded over a tiny corner of the blanket inside the basket to see two things — an envelope. And...a baby's foot.
Eyes widening, Nate ripped open the envelope. In beautiful, flowing script, Aphrodite had explained everything. Who the baby was, where it should be taken, what to expect of the child. Aphrodite was the goddess of love and, unconsciously, had incorporated Charmspeak into the writing. And so Nate believed her and decided to take care of the baby. That was one explicit thing the letter said; he should not put her up for adoption. He needed to take care of her himself.
And, well, that's what he did. He named her Kadence Iola (Kadence merely because he liked the sound, Iola after his great-grandmother Viola) and raised her as best he could. When Kady was five, Nate hit it big and got a medium-small role in a big-screen movie. Kady lived with her grandparents for several months then, but Nate was always back to swoop in and take care of her. You wouldn't think of him as a fatherly figure, but it turned out he was.
Kady was not like other children. And not just in her demigod ways. She'd wave her hand in front of her face; she would exclaim about the "pretty colors." When she was eight years old, Nate took her to a doctor and she was diagnosed with synesthesia, a condition where the sensory wires of the brain are crossed (so to speak).
The child was thrown out of her first school by age nine, and was thrown out of her second school at age eleven. That was when Nate decided to start homeschooling her, a good decision. He even took a break from acting to do so, even though his parents advised him against it.
One day, when Kady was conjugating verbs and Nate was looking through several scripts sprawled out on the couch, the doorbell rang. They never got visitors, and there was an obnoxiously large "No Solicitors" sign outside the house — naturally, they were curious. Nate flipped over to the other side and Kady paused her conjugating as she watched her father answer the door.
It was a man who looked to be pretty young. Remembering the details of the note, Nate ushered him in where he did in fact tell them details. He would need to bring Kady to Camp Half-Blood. It was best for everyone. She was claimed a week after her arrival in the Hermes cabin, suddenly finding herself clothed in a beautiful cream-colored gown, a crown of ivy, and perfectly applied makeup. Though Kady's style was not like this, she secretly appreciated all the compliments.
Kady continued to receive letters from her father every week, until one of those weeks when he just stopped. Confused and disoriented, Kady lived without correspondence for several months. And then she got a letter from her Aunt Brielle saying her father had died.
This was about the time when Kady shut herself off from the world, unconsciously. She stopped hanging out with her friends and obsessing over Clinique makeup with her siblings. She would read under a tree or simply loiter doing nothing. Her friends noticed; some left her alone, others tried to reach out. She refused their help.
She's stuck in a daydream and has been so since thirteen.
Mortal Parent: Nathan "Nate" Hunter (dead)

And Finally...
I, Maria, have made this entirely up. I did not rip somebody else’s application from any site, and have followed the rules accordingly.
And…? Yes.
