One month. One fabulous month she had been with her boyfriend. Uriel Mikhail. The thought brought a smile to her face as she put the finishing touches to her outfit for the day. It was a slightly cold day. The sun wasn't shining. Instead it was playing peek-a-boo behind the clouds. But that didn't mean she still couldn't dress cute.
Her outfit consisted of skinny jeans, vans, curled hair, a one-shouldered blouse, the necklace he had given her, the ring her dad had given her, and a bracelet and earrings she had bought for herself. She spun in front of the mirror and gave herself a satisfied nod. It all came together spectacularly. But with the weather, she would get cold. So as she walked out of the cabin she grabbed her lightest jacket. Just enough to protect her from the chill and look fashionable.
Lana seemed to give a little skip as she walked out of the camp. The last time she had visited her dad, she had requested that she needed her car at camp. The car that she had bought would be perfect for when she wanted to get out of camp. It was a little Chevy Sonic. Great gas mileage and it was cute. Not to mention the commercials were sick. At least, she thought they were. As she hopped in and started it, the small hum of the engine brought a smile to her face.
She pulled out and went on her way to the bistro were she had met with her father and Uriel. She had asked him to meet her there. She wanted to stop by her dads first and see how he was doing then go over. Plus, it gave him time to do things. He had said that he was a little busy. With what? She had no idea. But she didn't ask. It was always best not to ask.
The first stop was her dads house. As she pulled in the driveway, he opened the front door to welcome him in. A couple minutes in there and a short chat and she was back out the door and heading to the bistro. A quick glance at the clock and she realized she was going to get there a few minutes earlier than she had planned. That would be good. It would give her time to get a table first.
She arrived at the bistro and parked her car out front. Luckily it wasn't a busy day and she was able to get seated quickly. It was an outdoor table. She liked being able to people watch. Look at cute clothes and stuff of the like. She couldn't help this uneasy feeling though as the girl who seated her came up to her and asked what she would like to order. At first Lana wasn't going to order anything until Uriel got here, but then decided that she was in fact quite thirsty. She ordered just a water for now.
The girl nodded and went on her way. Lana shrugged off the weird feeling. Looking around the bistro, she noticed two guys dressed in white lab coats. They had the air of being doctors but were quite big. Muscular big. Usually doctors were on the smaller size, she shrugged she wasn't one to judge. But it wasn't hard to overhear their conversation. They were talking about their patients. She frowned at the bad cases and smiled at the ones who went home.
When the girl finally came back, Lana noticed her name was Lilly, she gave Lana her water and walked over to go get the orders for the two guys. Maybe it was the look. Lilly was quite pretty after all. She shook her head. That was rude. Automatically getting bad vibes just because the girl was pretty. What was she thinking? She sipped on her water as she waited. It was the precise time and Uriel still wasn't here.
She gave a small frown. But the water tasted off. She looked down at the glass. It looked like water. Smelt like it too. But the taste. The taste was off. She was about to call the waitress back when she started feeling light-headed. She shook her head blinking, trying to keep herself awake. She yawned once and her eyes stayed closed. Her arms folding on the table and her head falling on it. Maybe she would take a quick nap and when she woke Uriel would be there.
She didn't hear the soft laughter of the waitress or the brash voices of the so called doctors as one picked her up. The waitress saying she would be there shortly. The guys had nodded and tossed Lana in a car. No one had seen them. They bistro had been empty. As they drove off the waitress smiled before leaving a note on the car she had seen Lana pull up in. Saying that she went to take a walk and she would be back shortly. But, her mistress knew that wouldn't satisfy the spawn of Athena. So she had also laced it with a secret message. With a little warm air and lemon juice it would be revealed. The other message stating the address of the warehouse where Lana was and that's all.
Lilly clapped her hands excitedly as she took off towards the warehouse. Her mistress would be so happy. The blonde Demi-god stayed passed out unknowing of what was happening or where she was going. As they passed the state lines, it was official. Lana King had been kidnapped.
----------------------------------------------------------
As Lana awoke, she noticed two things. One; she was tied to a chair. Pretty tightly. Two; she wasn't in New York anymore. She could hear heartbeats of people wherever she was, but couldn't hear any honking horns or other car noises. Her head felt so fogged up and she felt exhausted. She gave a huff and opened her eyes as she lifted her head.
She wasn't alone in the room. Well not for long. Whoever was in here stirred and left before she could see them. She heard the close of a door and a snap as a locked clicked. She surveyed her area. Her eyes landing on anything and everything, which wasn't much. Her throat felt dry. But she didn't want to clear it. As she heard the door unlock, she straightened her position as much as possible and made her face neutral.
The two guys that had been in the bistro walked in. But they held the doors open as someone else walked in. Lana's nostrils flared and her eyes narrowed slightly. Empousa were beautiful yes, but the older they got the smellier they were. At least to her. She never asked the other Demi-gods this. The elder empousa looked at her with what could only be an evil smile. Then she spoke and Lana could hear the Russian accent behind the words.
"So you are the one he is so infatuated with? Not much too look at. Not even that pretty really." Lana stayed silent. What could this monster want with her? Well the 'he' was easy to figure out. Lana spoke next. Her voice cracking at the beginning until she paused and cleared her throat and restarted.
"Why kidnap me if you want Uriel? Don't you think that would just make him pissed at you. Giving you no chance with him?"
"I don't want him. I want to kill him. Kidnapping you was the easiest way to get him here. We shall capture him and make him watch as we kill you before killing him. He left me and that is unacceptable. No one leaves me!" Towards the end she had stomped off and raised her arms. Almost acting like a spoiled brat. "It is just unacceptable. Now. You two. Stand outside this door. I shall get one of the other empousas to watch after her in here. Do not leave your posts. I hope your comfortable." the last was directed at Lana with a shallow laugh.
Lana listened to the whole charade. Her gaze stayed neutral, but a fleck of fear crept in at the death part. This was too soon to see if she had nine lives. She watched as they all walked out. Then with a deep exhale of breath, which she hasn't known she'd been holding she dropped her head. Her mind started racing with all possible solutions of trying to get out of here.
When she heard the door open, her head snapped back up and her gaze slipped into neutral. In walked Lilly. She blinked a couple times allowing shock to overcome he features for the briefest of moments. Lilly just laughed. A soft almost child-like laugh that racked Lana's nerves. She didn't say anything though. Just stared at Lana before walking over and perching on a chair. Her eyes strayed to her nails as she started filing them.
Lana was glad she was to the wall. And she was also glad that they seemed to under estimate her. After all. She was tied to a chair with rope. She smiled inwardly as she let her claws unsheathe. One nail starting to work at cutting through the rope. If only she could get it undone before Uriel got here. If he ever did of course. Otherwise, she figured she could try and fight her way out. It would be difficult but if necessary she would do it.
