He led the little girl into the house, holding in one hand the handle to a case filled with her things. The other hand was clasped around the child's. It was easier for him to walk now with his shoes off, now that he didn't have to worry about the shoes falling off his hooves. He turned and closed the door behind the child, looking down at her for a mere second or two before moving on. Usually the child was open with him; she hadn't said a thing since they left Port Clements. He wasn't at all surprised, though. He had revealed himself as something she had thought was only in the stories her father told her every night before bed. He sighed softly and led her further in.
"Where are we going?" the little girl asked quietly. Her skin, abnormally pale, was cool to the touch. Her hair was currently a light gold-blond, but Francis knew that would change with Spring. The girl's hand that wasn't holding the Satyr's was clutching a small polar bear that had been left for her by her mother. Khione had needed to return to Quebec so her father Boreas wouldn't find out about the demigoddess she had birthed.
"Well, Rima-chan, we're going to find an old friend of mine," Francis replied, using the Japanese honorific as Rima's father had. "My friend runs this camp. I wanted you to meet him so you know who to go to if something happens." Rima nodded, but said nothing more. Also not surprising, given how she'd been treated at school. He hadn't heard about it until after the little girl's powers had manifested. The only passive ability she had was her lower body temperature, making her less suseptible to cold.
