Reverie sat quietly by herself, as usual. She had become used to solidude, though, she couldnt say she didn't enjoy it. Too many people overwhelmed her demigod senses and made it very difficult for her brain to function. Although, it did sometimes become lonely since she didn't really have any friends since her powers scared people Off. There were times when she wished she had just one good friend, but she had become used to being with herself.
Glancing up, she looked out over the water. She was no Poseidon kid, but she'd always found something poetic about water. The sound it made as it rippled and turned was soothing, it helped her clear her mind. As did reading, which was way she was actually doing. Coming down to the lake alone and sitting under a tree to read was one of her favorite things to do. It was so peaceful, that is, as long as there was nobody there to make noise and ruckus. Today it was very quiet though.
The blonde-haired girl leaned back on the tree and glanced down at her book again. It was a fantasy novel, as usual. Today she happened to be reading Inheritance by Christopher Paolini for the third time. She loved that series, well obviously if she was reading the convolution for the third time, but in her opinion, her mother's novels would always be the best stories ever written.
For quite a while, she sat unbothered and read page upon page, savorimg the sweet solitude. She wondered if this was what it was like for mortal, and even other Demigods. To hear nothing oher than your surroundings. It was kind of nice, not something shed ever been able to experience often her whole life.
But just as she thought she'd have some extended quality time, she heard someone's thoughts mumbling in the distance, growing closer. She groaned at tried to block it out, but she couldn't just block out her senses like that, unfortunately. She'd never had the ability to really control her mind reading powers much, its like they were always turned up high, it was hard to ignore them. Her dream-bending and dream reading were easier to control though, but still difficult. Reading a dream was pretty simple, it was willing it to change as she pleased that took most focus. But even all the focus in the world couldn't block out other's thoughts. It was very frustrating.
There was nothing Reverie could do about it now though, this person was getting closer andAnd closer and she was probably already seen at this point anyhow, so there was no point in trying to scuttle off. So she stood her ground and hoped that whoever this was didn't want to bother her much...unless maybe they were nice...
