Knife-throwing was a dangerous activity.
Therefore, it qualified as freaking awesome in Olivia Mae Raine's book. She felt the shining surge run through her as she launched yet another silver knife into the straight heart of the dummy. It hurt her sunburn drastically, but the surge of the leather grip sliding through her palm covered up the sting of her baked shoulders. She retrieved the knife and put it down, then unsheathed her sword.
Olivia's sword - she called it Thunderblade - was an original. It was custom made for her, because she had forged it herself. It had taken her almost a full year to create it, but it was a beauty. Five feet of thunder and wind and celestial bronze. The grip was molded to her fingers, so that when she held it, there were small creases for her fingers to wrap around, so she could comfortably hold the sword. Olivia had needed various spells (courtesy of some Hecate children) to make it deflective. Bullets bounced off of the sword without even leaving a mark, and almost everything else was the same. And - considering how shiny the bronze was - Olivia could see her enemies from the reflection, sneaking up behind her. It came in very handy. She loved her sword.
The daughter of Zeus pushed her glasses up her nose a bit (they were falling down) and took some sips from her water. Then, an average looking girl (with a stormy aura - Olivia would say) walked in. Olivia had heard about this angry, crabby girl. She was a daughter of Nike and her name was Maxine Darke (but if you called her Maxine, you wouldn't wake up the next day). Olivia took a second to plan out how to approach the girl. Since she was known to be a bit touchy, Olivia would take a friendly approach. She walked up to the strongly built girl.
"Hey, there. I haven't seen you around the arena much. I can show yoiu around a bit, even teach you some techniques if you want." Olivia sounded optimistic, and her offer could be tempting "I'm Olivia, daughter of Zeus." the brunette put out her hand, signaling for Max to shake it, as that is what you do when you meet someone new. Olivia smiled warmly, awaiting her reply.
