As Chase walked out of his cabin and into the sunlight he couldn't help but throw on a worried glance. He had hated, more accurately been scared of, Pegasi ever since his first encounter with one. When he had tried to ride it, he had thought of it as riding a horse. it had gone fine for awhile but as they took off into the air, well let's just say that he wasn't up for very long. He had found himself flat on the ground with a sore body from falling. He hadn't known what had happened, but ever since then, he hadn't been able to be around them.

He sighed as he ran a hand through his hair. Today he decided to leave it as is, and do nothing to style it. His feet carried him towards the barn because today he was going to try and ride another one. Try being the very big keyword. He was nervous, that much was clear. But he tried to not make it show because he didn't want to seem weak in the eyes of whomever might walk his way.

As Chase arrived he couldn't help but breathe in the scent of the barn, everything about it made him smile. It seemed so comforting, but then when he saw a Pegasi stick its head through one of the open doors he couldn't help but take a quick step back. Although the creature seemed friendly enough, Chase held up his hand very slowly to stroke its head. It seemed this one was used to treats though as it tried reaching towards his pocket. "Sorry buddy I don't have anything."

[/b] As if offended by him, the Pegasi just walked away.

Chase stood there, an expression one of bewilderment as he shook his head and continued on down the barn to pet one every time it stuck it's head out. His unease seemed to be wearing off, but he was sure that as soon as he took the next step onto riding one, it would be back. But ten fold.

Olivia's eyes opened to morning light pouring out the window next to her. Nice to have a corner bed. There was a big selection anyway. She flipped her legs down and stood up to head into the bathroom. She took a shower, washed her face, brushed her hair and then went back to her trunk to get some clothes.

Today Olivia selected some cropped jeans and a flowy tank top. She decided to rest and relax today, because for the next two days she had volunteered to help out at the infirmary. She had been helping out there a lot, because she felt really bad for all of the Apollos, cooped up in there with all of the sickies. She was supposed to help out today, too, but the healers had insisted that she took a little break, because - after all - it wasn't even her job to help out, and she was volunteering anyway.

So, to chill out, Olivia planned to spend her day in the skies, flying high on a pegasus. Of course, she preferred to be in the sky than on the ground, being a child of Zeus. And since she controlled more air than storms, the sky was pretty much her place to be. So, after she was dresses, she threw on some Toms, and walked out the door.

Once Olivia walked around for a bit, she found that camp wasn't bustling as it was usually. The camp was practically deserted. So many people were sick. It had been like this forever. Olivia tried not to be too depressed. Hope was their best chance for now. And the questers. She tried to be optimistic about it, even if it was hard. At least no one had died.

As Olivia walked into the stables, she breathed in the milky scent and air of pegasi. She went over to her favorite pegasus - Skyhigh - and pet his mane. He neighed happily at her. She walked off to the nearby apple tree, and picked him off an apple to eat. Skyhigh gracefully licked it out of her hand. Olivia laughed happily at the feeling. The pegasus lapped at her glasses and she smiled. She leaned in and whispered in his ear "We're gonna have a blast today, buddy," she brought her head back, and she could have sworn that she saw the pegasus smile.

She turned to the other pegasi, and down the stables she saw a boy, admiring them. He didn't seem to notice her. Olivia grinned, "They're beautiful creatures, aren't they?" she asked him, expecting him to turn around and answer. She may have startled him a bit but .. hey, whatever? Right?

Chase turned as he heard a girls voice. But as he did he found himself answering the question. ”Yeah. They are beautiful.”

[/b] He found himself smiling at her, as he looked at her. He cleared his throat before speaking again. ”But powerful and scary at the same time.”[/b] He looked down at the ground silently cursing himself for letting scary out. He didn’t even know this girl and he just told her what he actually thought of the Pegasi. What was he doing. He rubbed the back of his neck as he picked up his head. He chewed on his lower lip for a second before walking over to her and the Pegasi she was by.

He ducked his head to the one who was now staring at him before talking. ”Is he yours or just one you ride?”[/b] His face allowed that easy smile that he always had slide back onto his face as he talked to her. He took the closer inspection to notice her eyes behind the glasses. Though not many people thought what he thought about brown eyes, hers were actually beautiful. Of course he wouldn’t say that right now since he didn’t even know her, but he kept it in the back of his mind for when it became the right time.

Then as if realizing for the first time that he had no idea who he was even talking too, he held out his hand for her to shake. ”Chase Taylor by the way. Son of Athena.” He wondered whose kid she was, whoever it was was lucky since their daughter was pretty cute. His eyes flicked back to the Pegasi for a second wishing he had some kind treat to give him since it seemed like Chase was getting stared down. Once they shook hands, he let his drop down by his side. His other hand had stayed in his pocket, but his stance seemed awkward, he felt awkward, and he really didn’t know why.

So he went back to doing the one thing he knew how to do. Talk. His smile still on his face as he went back to that tactic. ”So what are you doing in here? I mean like are you riding or just visiting, although your probably riding because that’s what most people do when they come here. But I just came to visit, and maybe ride. I wasn’t really sure. But I’m going to stop rambling now before I make an even bigger fool out of myself.”[/b] He stopped talking then and couldn’t help the blush that had spread through his face. He breathed deeply a few times and could feel it sliding away.[/color][/blockquote][/blockquote][/size]

”But powerful and scary at the same time.” Olivia blinked. Talk about awkward. Looks like this kid just stumbled a bit. He looked super embarrassed. Olivia felt kind of bad for him. It was slightly obvious that he liked her a bit, and he totally just screwed up. It was a bit cute, honestly, how guys do that around girls. Olivia laughed a bit to herself. This kid had character. An enjoyable trait.

Olivia saw him eyeing Skyhigh ”Is he yours or just one you ride?” "A bit of both, honestly." she said with a grin. Her hand was automatically stroking Skyhigh's mane. ”Chase Taylor by the way. Son of Athena.” he introduced himself. So, Athena? Interesting kid. A little unconfident for an Athena, actually. "Olivia Raine, Daughter of..." she said, and paused. She didn't really like introducing her father to other people. It made them judge her. But since this kid didn't seem all that judgemental, she said "...Zeus." her eyes met her feet - her navy toms. She looked up, and saw his outstretched hand. She shook it.

”So what are you doing in here? I mean like are you riding or just visiting, although your probably riding because that’s what most people do when they come here. But I just came to visit, and maybe ride. I wasn’t really sure. But I’m going to stop rambling now before I make an even bigger fool out of myself.” Olivia smiled to herself. Foolish kid. "Golly, nice guess," she said cheerfully "Yup, I'm here to ride!" she smiled at him as she unlocked Skyhigh's gate.

Olivia plastered a really happy-looking face on, as she mounted Skyhigh and said "Grab a pegasus and we'll set out." she paused and then mischieviously said "Of course, if you're man enough to ride one." she winked at him, and fed Skyhigh another apple. "The easiest one would be Starlet, over there." she glanced over at the pale gray pegasus, who was munching on a treat. Skyhigh's white head turned to look at Starlet as well, copying Olivia. "Hope that you aren't afraid of heights."

When Chase heard her talk he couldn’t help but smile, she had a nice voice. But when she laughed, that was when his smile got bigger. Her laugh was sweet. It wasn’t too loud or too quiet, it was just perfect. At least to him. It was then that he decided, no matter what it took he would make it his goal to make her laugh just so he could hear her laugh. He watched as she looked down at her feet and then back up only to shake his hand then, almost like she was afraid about telling him her dads name. He shrugged it off and decided he would ask her about it later. But for now, he just looked at her. She didn’t seem like the Zeus kids he had met before, but he liked that. One just had to talk to him for a bit to find out he wasn’t entirely like his siblings.

He laughed at himself and with her when she stated she was doing the obvious and started pulling out the Pegasi she claimed to be hers. He watched as she mounted Skyhigh and shook his head, seeing how easy it was, when he would probably fail a couple times trying to get on. ”Oh I might be man enough too.”

[/b] He mumbled under his breath hoping she didn’t hear him as he turned towards the Pegasi she had pointed out. As he walked over to her, he walked by the apple tree and plucked one down, seeing how Skyhigh had liked apples he figured Starlet would too. He held out his hand with the apple and watched as the Pegasi took the apple and started munching on it. Then not moving, he let Starlet push her head up against him as if asking for more. ”When we get back. I promise girl okay?”[/b]

That seemed to be enough for the Pegasi as she walked until she was standing in the right spot for Chase to hop on. Almost as if she knew he was scared she looked back at him. He reached out a hand and patted her fetlock before grabbing onto the gray mane and trying to hoist himself up. The first time he didn’t really succeed and he sort of slipped off. The second time he launched himself up and he sat down but when Starlet started walking over to where Olivia was he could feel himself getting off balance. When they were next to each other, he looked over at her. ”So what if I have a slight fear of oh let’s say falling off while flying?”[/b] His smile faltered a bit as he looked into the air praying that he didn’t fall when he got up there.[/center]

As Chase walked over to where she was sitting happily on Skyhigh, he said casually, ”So what if I have a slight fear of oh let’s say falling off while flying?” Olivia didn't want to make any promises, so she said, with a small chuckle "I can't tell you that you aren't gonna fall, but Starlet is a good flyer. If you start to fall, she might catch you. But you probably won't even fall in the first place. You'll probably only fall if I knock you off, and I won't do that. Your pegasus is way too sturdy to fling you off." she smiled at him, and flipped her hair back over her shoulder.

Olivia nudged Skyhigh in the side, and the pegasus began to gain speed, until he got faster and faster. Finally, when Skyhigh had enough speed, he began to launch into the skies. Skyhigh shot into the morning light. Olivia almost slapped herself in the head right then and there. She had totally forgotten to look back to see if Chase had followed. Oh, well, he was a reliable kid. Maybe. Too late to look back now. She let a happy laugh out into the skies, and willed the wind to fasten a bit around her. Skyhigh sped forward.

"Falling off yet?" she called back to Chase jokingly, and waited for his reply, which would probably be muffled by the wind whipping through her ears.

Olivia reflected on the fact that it was such a nice day. There were a few whispy clouds that were almost completely blended with the sky. It was still morning, so it wasn't blistering hot, but it wasn't freezing. The perfect day. Olivia smiled to herself. Such a nice day.

Chase listened to what she had to say, and it did make him feel a little bit better. So as he watched her maneuver her Pegasi to get a running start he let out a sigh. He copied what she had done and was surprised to feel himself in the air a few seconds later. Although he was still nervous, still a lot nervous, he couldn’t help but smile. The wind tussled his hair, and he was glad he didn’t spend time this morning trying to get it all perfect. He laughed after a couple minutes, and almost felt himself wanting to lean back.

His fear of heights was temporarily forgotten, until he looked down. Why did he have to look down, as soon as he did it hit him right in the gut. He straightened himself out and looked forward making his eyes not look back down again. He realized that if he kept his eyes on Olivia in front of him, the knot in his stomach would start to dissipate. He heard her call out to him and he smiled. ”No, though it helps if I don’t look down. Still high up here though!” He yelled hoping it was loud enough to reach her ears. He leaned down next to Starlet’s ear and talked. ”Hey girl can you catch up with her?”

He was surprised to hear her snort almost as if she couldn’t believe that she couldn’t do that. Then with a lurch he felt her going faster to speed up next to Olivia. He smiled, patting the Pegasi and holding onto the mane. They were only a few feet away now so he felt her wings start to slow.

Olivia smiled as the two flew (lol rhyme) side by side on their pegasi. As Olivia streamed through a thick cloud - a slightly dark one, promising rain - she was caught off-guard. The cloud ran through her teeth and down her throat, making her mouth feel all smokeyness. She coughed helplessly, but there was nothing she could do, because the next thing she knew, she was falling fifty feet through a misty sky.

The fall was like nothing Olivia had ever, ever, ever, ever experienced before. She felt like she was tumbling forever and ever through nothingness. This is it, she thought. Fifty feet down? She doubted that she could survive it. Even if she did, she would badly injure herself, and be unconscious for a bit. She shrieked with horror. Her ears popped, and she closed her eyes, because she was getting dizzy.

Suddenly, Olivia felt daggers of pain slice through her skin. Everywhere hurt like crazy. She opened her eyes, and found herself laying on her back right in front of the stables. She tried to sit up. No success. Pain raged through her. She fought her best to stay awake, just until Chase came back for her. Her breathing was slow and heavy. Her vision was blurry and spinning, with black spots dancing around her. She could feel the cloudy dirt stain her face, making her feel cluttered and dirty.

Olivia lay still, fighting the urge to black out. Her body screamed with fiery pain, but she wouldn't let it overcome her now. Well, at least she wasn't dead. But she could be soon. All she saw was a gray blob and a white blob and the shape of a person. Then, black was all that she could see.

Chase had seen the cloud ahead of time and had skirted around it. The blackness spooking both him and Starlet, but as they came around the other side the most horrible thing flashed across his view. Olivia. She was falling. And falling fast. ”Oh Zeus no. OLIVIA!” He yelled as Starlet and Skyhigh both zoomed towards the Earth. His fear of heights completely forgotten. All he cared about was making sure that Olivia was going to be okay. ”Oh please let her survive this fall.” He whispered as the Pegasi landed on the ground next to her. He slid off Starlet as fast as he could and ran/tumbled his way to her.

”Olivia. Olivia.” His face turned white when there was no answer. He leaned down and could hear her breathing, although it didn’t sound good. ”I’m sorry, this might hurt.”

[/b] He said as he stood up and then bent down to pick her up. Once she was in his arms he carried her, quick but not fast enough to jostle her in his arms to the infirmary. He looked back at the Pegasi behind him. Skyhigh looked miserable like it was all his fault. ”She will be fine boy. It wasn’t your fault.”

After a couple minutes, Chase arrived with Olivia in his arms. An Apollo kid rushed up to him and once he saw Olivia he beckoned Chase to carry her to an empty bed nearby. The kid asked him what was wrong and in a hurried and rushed voice he explained. ”We were riding the Pegasi in the air, about fifty feet, and she went through a dark cloud. Next thing I know she’s falling to the ground. So I rushed down and automatically brought her here.” The kid nodded and asked for him to step outside since the room was full of kids who had caught the sickness. Chase took one last look at her and stepped outside. He sat down on the ground, his back to the infirmary and his legs pulled up to his chest.

He crossed his arms on top of his legs and set his forehead against his arms. ”Oh please Zeus, let her be okay.”[/b] Seeing her fall like that had scared him so much. But sitting here brought back his memories of his flight and how terrified and hurt he had been. He don’t know how long he sat there, but he would sit there waiting until she walked out of the infirmary.[/center]

Olivia's eyes flickered open. At first, she didn't know where in Tartarus she was. Am I in the Underworld? she thought Did I die? but then she sensed the sickness and crowdedness around her, and knew where she was. The infirmary. How the hell had she gotten here? Then she remembered the fall. She was sore all over, but her leg was the worst. It was wrapped up now, but it blazed with pure pain and agony. Tears of pain threatened to spill over onto her cheeks, but she bit them back.

On the table next to her, she saw two plain squares of ambrosia. She leaned over - using all of her will - and grabbed one, then gently placed it in her mouth. It tasted like a banana nut muffin. Her favorite. She let it recharge her. She felt a bit better. She ate the last square, and felt good enough to stand. She was still sore, but she could move without having to sit back down, and her dizzy spell had faded. Feeling refreshed, Olivia rubbed the fatigue out of her eyes with balled-up fists, and reached for the crutches that were placed next to her.

Then Olivia remembered Chase. Oh, crap, he probably carried me here, she thought. Gosh, he must be a pretty decent kid to have carried some girl that he barely knew all the way to the infirmary from the stables. Olivia took the crutches and secured them under her arms. Then, she moved her way out of the infirmary, struggling with the crutches a bit.

As Olivia came to the entrance, she saw Chase sitting with his back to the infirmary. She quietly shut the curtain, and snuck up behind him. "Boo." she whispered softly into one of his ears.

Chase didn’t know how long he had been waiting, but he could feel himself nodding off into a light sleep. His body, finally tired from all the adrenaline just wanted to sleep. So he let it. His eyes closed, he had leaned back on his hands and let his head lulled forward. His breathing was slowing almost not noticeable. But breathing he was. His mind though was racing so fast, images passed him by. He lost track of time and almost where he was. But that changed as soon as he heard a voice in his ear. He jumped up, his heart feeling like it stopped, and his breath coming fast and hard. ”Holy crap.”

[/b] He turned to look at Olivia and as he did he calmed his breathing.

He exhaled deeply for a second and when his breathing was normal again he shook his head but had a smile plastered on when he spoke. ”That’s the second time you nearly scared me to death. Keep it up much long and I might not be alive next time.”[/b] He smiled and then looked to her leg back to her eyes. ”Looks like you’re feeling better. That leg should heal pretty quickly.”[/b] All the worried feelings he had been getting finally disappeared as he realized she was okay. He looked down for a second then stepped forward and wrapped his arms around her in a hug. ”Not sure if you like hugs or not but you are getting one. You really scared me.”[/b]

After what seemed like a minute he stepped back from the embrace and looked out towards the Pegasus barn. ”You know who else is worried about you. Skyhigh felt pretty rotten about the fall.”[/b] He looked back to her a smile in his eyes and on his face.[/center]

As soon as Chase jumped, Olivia cracked up. "That was hilarious." she said, giggling at his shocked face. ”That’s the second time you nearly scared me to death. Keep it up much long and I might not be alive next time.” Olivia smiled That's a new record for me. Beats the one time I almost got killed four times in the same hour." Olivia laughed a bit at her stupid comments.

Olivia saw Chase glance at her leg ”Looks like you’re feeling better. That leg should heal pretty quickly.” Olivia snorted a bit "Barely." then she realized that he was actually worried about her, so she quickly added "I mean, like, it's gotten better, but, like, yeah ... so, um ..." she shook her head. What was she even saying? Blinking back everything she realized that ... holy crap her glasses were totally gone! She made a mental note to look for them at the stables soon.

Suddenly, Chase wrapped her in a warm - and awkward, she must say - embrace. He smelled like mint. After a moment, they let go, and he said, ”You know who else is worried about you. Skyhigh felt pretty rotten about the fall.” Olivia did a mental facepalm. Fudge! She'd totally forgotten about the pegasus. "Oh, whatever." Olivia shrugged "She knows to go back to the stables and wait for someone to lock her gates. I'll swing by later and give her an apple. I think that she'll be fine."

Olivia didn't know what the hell to do next, so she leaned in, kissed Chase on the cheek and said quietly to him, "It was really sweet of you to come back for me and bring me to the infirmary." it wasn't a totally awesome 'thank you', but it was what Olivia did. Even though that was one thing that she would never see herself doing. Maybe she was drunk on happiness that she was alive. Or maybe she was too in love to care? Well, let's see, then!

Chase ‘s mouth dropped. ”Four times in one hour! Well...i think my total is 10.”

[/b] He said totally kidding and acting all high and mighty proud about it. He shook his head at himself wondering why he was acting like such a goof. Of course he knew why, but he wouldn’t admit it to himself. At least not yet. But everything faded from his mind when he saw Olivia move closer to him. His eyebrow shot up wondering what was going to happen when she kissed him on the cheek. When she backed away, he blinked a couple times, his face red.

”Well...um...it was really no problem...I mean I’m sure any person would’ve done it. But you’re welcome. I will always help you when you need it.” He stopped talking and averted his gaze for a moment, trying to get his blush under control. When he finally looked back at her he had a smile on his face, but there was still a slight pink tinge to his cheeks. He coughed once to clear his throat and looked over to the barns and then back at her. This was when he noticed that her glasses were gone.

”Your glasses. They are probably near where you fell. Want to go look for them?” He paused as he started to turn to walk away and then noticed her crutches and how she was a bit unstable on them. He looked at the distance to the Pegasus barns, and hadn’t really noticed the distance they were from here when he was carrying her. All he had noticed at the time was just getting her to safety. ”I could carry you back over there if you want? ”Well...um...it was really no problem...I mean I’m sure any person would’ve done it. But you’re welcome. I will always help you when you need it.” Olivia smiled a bit, and laughed to herself "The thing is, anyone could've done it, but not everyone would've done it." Olivia thought that she made a pretty strong comeback. Not every guy would have willingly carried her to the infirmary *coughcoughFINNcoughcough* from the stables.

”Your glasses. They are probably near where you fell. Want to go look for them?” Olivia shrugged ”I could carry you back over there if you want? It wouldn’t be a big deal to me?” Olivia shrugged again, "I have about six spares. And even if the Hermes kids raid my trunk again, the Hecate kids have been conjuring up new pairs for me for pretty much forever," Olivia had remembered when the Hermes kids had raided her trunk. She had just woken up one morning and her Patrick hat was gone, and her glasses weren't there, and she was missing about three pairs of jeans and two shirts and, like, four pairs of shoes. But then - the next night - Olivia raided the candy stash of Hermes. She even left a note. It was so funny. She didn't take all of it, but she took a lot. She had meals in bunk! Olivia could eat tons, and never get too fat, but could diet, and never get too skinny. It was a satisfactional life.

Now, Olivia couldn't believe that she was standing here, on crutches, and she had just kissed a guy on the cheek that she had barely met an hour and sixteen minutes and thirty-two seconds ago? Please. He had messy brown hair, and sparkly dark brown eyes. Brown eye to brown eye. Olivia couldn't believe that about an hour, sixteen minutes, and ten seconds ago she had told herself in the infirmary that she wouldn't fall for this kid. Because - even though he was nice, funny, and fairly cute, okay, hot - she was never, ever, ever going to fall in love. This woman flies solo (no pun intended to Zeus XD). Slightly literally! And here she was, twenty-two seconds later, rambling on and on and on in her mind about how dumb she was. She liked him. Okay, love. He was cute. Okay, hot. There, she admits it. x puts confession on camera to show to Aries x. Olivia: x glares x. Avie: x runs away from post screaming x.

The two met eyes for a single second, and then Olivia looked down. "I guess that I'll see you around then," she said quietly. Sudden mood change. Because Olivia wanted to spend more time with him. With him, she felt like she didn't need to be constantly watching her back. She could actually chill out and have fun. Then, Olivia started crutching away, towards the Zeus cabin.

Chase nodded as she explained that she could always get more. He hadn’t realized but as she said that she would see him around and started walking off, he wanted to spend more time with her. He watched her pass him a couple feet before jogging up to her and turning his had to look at her while he walked with her. ”Hey don’t think you can escape me so fast, I have to go to my cabin. So I might as well walk you to yours.” He smiled his hazel blue green eyes *coughcough not Brown* catching her brown ones.

He listened to her as they walked *just in case you do talk XD* and it seemed that in a short time they were already to her cabin. He stopped outside her cabin with her not wanting to go just quite yet. His hand rubbed the back of his neck as he looked at her. He was going to take a giant leap, one that he normally didn’t take, but he was taking it nonetheless. ”Hey, umm...do you want to go to the beach later tonight?”

[/b] His eyes shone with hopefulness at the offer, wanting to just spend more time with her.

He stepped up next to her again, and couldn’t stop himself from giving her another hug. This time though it seemed to be less awkward. While he was still hugging her he finished up their conversation. ”So I will meet you out there at 8?”[/b] He backed up a couple steps and smiled at her before talking again. ”I mean unless you want me to meet you in front of your cabin?” He resisted the urge to do what he really wanted to do, which was kiss her. No it would be better on the beach at night. It would be way better. With nothing left to do, he turned around and started walking back over to his cabin. ”See you later!” He called over his shoulder to her as he turned to look and wave bye.
