Ivy thought about a lot of things when she was training. It was like a constant beet in her head. Something to keep her going that was not just hit here and here and dodge this. It made things spicy. But sometimes it made her take her eye off the ball and open for an attack. She did not mined it was only training right? Her thought had gone today to family. She did feel for her brother but he was just a good fighter as she was. Just because there dad did not come and say the same speech she got. She rolled her eyes. She dropped her sword to her leg as practice was over. Putting her things back in there place she headed for the showers.

Sweat, sun and dust was all over and she could not relax in the warm weather when she was feeling grimy like that. Plus if someone saw her, she would not live it down. So when she got washed and changed she slipped her bikini on and shorts and vest top. She had been thinking all day she had not been for a swim in a long time so that was what she was going to do. Ivy made her way to the canoeing lake. It was calmer and less busy here so she would be able to relax and swim in her own time.

Walking through camp she smiled at a few girls she knew and a few other said hello. She walked past her crush and dropped her head. She still could not believe she had a crush on a counselor and it would not go away. She had told no one of this but it eaten away at her. Ivy finally made her way to the lake and dropped her things. With a smile on her face she slipped her clothes off and went into the cool refreshing water for a swim.

Walking through camp was one of her favorite things to do. She just gets to see what everyone is up to. She would deny this if ever asked but she loved gossip and rumors, she just liked to know things. She saw Chase and Olivia, they were a cute couple. Sarina heading towards the climbing wall for some practice. Apollos cabin in the Amphitheater except for a boy who she guessed was Nathan Lockwood, he didn't ever go to his musical training. Thinking about all this on fast forward in her mind she almost knocked over a little Ares camper, she apologized sweetly and smiled. Katerina was always smiling her 1000 watt smile. Her look on it was life is too short to be unpleasant so she was never mean, only nice. It wasn't hard she liked being nice, helping others just being a good person.

Katerina reached her destination. The Canoe Lake. She had her bathing suit on under her clothes and a towel in hand. She left her towel in the sand and grabbed one of the canoes and set out onto the lake. She paddled out not too far, but far enough not to be interrupted. Sinking down into the canoes bottom she looked up at the slightly cloudy sky and frowned there was a darkness coming and it was a little strange. Strange as in no one was panicking but everyone knew of it's presence.

She watched the clouds for what seemed like an hour when she heard splashing in the water as someone walked into the water from the shore. Now Katerina was not very tall so sitting on the bottom of the canoe her head just peeked over. She peered at the shore and saw a girl with long, wavy, redish browish hair walk in then submerge completely and began to swim closer. The girl was unrecognizable from the distance she was at. She sunk back into the canoe.

Ivy let the cool water splash over her toes as she looked across the lake. The waster was cooling and refreshing, for the hot day. She could not help see though that there was a storm coming. She hoped her mood would stay positive through throughout. Getting deeper into the water a cold shiver went up her spin. A sly smile crossed her face as she dived into the water submerging herself fully and swimming a few breast strokes under the water, until her head broke the glass like surface. Ivy pushed her hair out of her face and took a big gulp of air. She giggled to herself as she let the cold water dance around her body making her hot skin cool and refreshed.

Ivy pushed herself into a backwards stroke but laid there looking at the shy as she lazily floated around with her thought. This did not last to long as she snacked her head against something. SHe shot up straight away looking at what she bumped into. "Oww, what the hell!" It was a canoe. She just looked at it for a moment then saw a face pop up over the side. Ivy got startled and pushed the canoe away making her face go under the water and she stared coughing and wiping the waster off her face.

"Sorry i did not know anyone was out here and well i got startled. She said in a cool voice. Ivy did not think she knew the girl however she had seen her in the forge a few times maybe she was a hep child. She did not know. You think being at the camp so many years she would know a lot of people bit in ivys defence she lived her life for her and no one else.

Letting her feet dangle over one side of the canoe, Katerina watched the sky. Several clouds passing by she looked at the shapes and the images they formed. Pegasus with a toaster she thought. Giggling to herself she continued on with her cloud watching. She loved doing this after a long day of training, just coming out onto the lake and watching the clouds, just peace. At first she wasn't so keen on coming out onto the lake because she had a fear of tipping over and falling in. The past years she got over it after many terrifying trips out onto the lake, she finally realized that she was fine and it wouldn't tip her.

Four years ago when Katerina first got to camp she had so many fears, she assumed she got from being traumatized at the young age of 12. However she knew that fears equaled weakness so coming to this camp she tried very hard to get over all of her fears. With the help of her best friend Patrick, the Satyr. He had been with her since before she even got to camp, just having him around made her more at ease. He knew what she felt, what she went through. He would never tell her to just get over it, like some others did.

As her thoughts wondered she felt something bump into the canoe "Oww, what the hell?" came a voice from the lake. Katerina jumped up to her feet, rocking the canoe slightly. She peered over the edge and saw it was the girl from the shore. Katerina smiled apologetically "Oh Gods, sorry about that..." she started but before she could finished the girl must have been startled, she pushed the canoe. Katerina being the clumsy girl she is, lost her footing. She stumbled backwards over the edge and into the water, flipping the canoe.

She popped up to the surface, coughing as she draped herself onto the upside down canoe. She looked across the canoe at the girl as she started to apologize. Katerina just smiled "Don't even worry about it. I'm Kat" she said giggling a bit. Wow she thought that was a stupid fear as she moved a strand of her straight hair from her face.

Ivy was startled by the canoe she did not expect someone to be in it. But then she was not looking for it. She looked at the now wet girl. She had just got her wet, she was sorry about that. If that was an aphrodite chick they would not be too happy. So her guess was right. She bobbed about in the water as the girl spock. Now she could put a name to a face. "I was not expecting anyone to be out here, and i'm Ivy. Your a hep aren't you i think iv seen you in the forge a few times." She kept herself up by moving her legs under the water. The water was nice around her body. She was studying the girl. She looked younger then ivy, but thats all ivy could tell about the girl.

Ivy did not have many girl friends she prefered the company of guys but then she thought that was because of her Ares farther making her more into fighting getting down and dirty. Her mind drifted back to were she was. "I'm sorry about knocking you out i was startled thats all. I am sorry. I was not expecting anyone to be out here. She could not go back and tell the boys what had happened all they needed to know is that she went for a swim. Thats all she was going to tell them.

She moved her head to look at the shore checking on her thongs and to see if anyone else was there. She could not seen no one and was glad. all her things should still be there.

Kicking her feet in the water, Katerina scrambled for a better position on her tipped canoe. Truth be told she was never a great swimmer, she never tried really learning how to swim. She only knows a little because before she knew of this camp and that she was a demigod, her friend Patrick, the Satyr threw her into the school pool. She learned how to keep her head above water very quickly that day, for fear of drowning.

Ivy, the girl introduced herself as. It was a nice name. Katerina smiled "It's alright Ivy." she repeated "I'm still breathing aren't I?" she added jokingly. Ivy went on and guessed her parent. "You're a hep aren't you i think I've seen you in the forge a few times." Kat nodded in agreement "Yep that's me daughter of Hephaestus at your service" she said smiling. "Need something fixed?" she added jokingly. It seemed that the Hephaestus kids were known and stereotyped for staying in the forges all day, only fixing and creating thing. Not true, they had lives too. Although yes it was enjoyable in the Forges and Katerina did spend a lot of time ther.....OK maybe it was true.

Katerina had seen Ivy around camp before although she didn't know her name before, she seemed to always be surrounded by boys, although not romantically more like best friends. That was Katerina as well. It was a little weird at the beginning of camp being the only girl in her cabin but she quickly got used to it and learned to love it and her brothers. "Alright now it's my turn.....errr.....Poseidon?" she guessed as they were out in the lake after all.

Kat laughed some more "Don't worry about it Ivy, I was going to go swimming anyways, although not with my clothes on" she said smiling. she saw Ivy looking at the shore where their things were, jogging her memory that her new weapon was there with her towel. She did not want that stolen. "Errr I actually have something important way over there" she said pointing to the shore "I just don't want anyone to take it." she said adjusting herself on the canoe.

Ivy looked back and laughed slipping under the water as she did. She got a mouth full of salty water and she had to shut her eyes. Re-surfacing she dribbled the water out of her mouth. The taste was not that pleasant, like dirty socks and salt. "No, i'm an Area kid myself. she said through her laughing. She looked back over her shoulder where she was looking. Ivy did not trust many of the people in camp. She knew of a few pick pockets. "i know what you mean, i have all my things over there. There are some characters about camp that i don't trust.....if you know what i mean" She said.

Ivy bobbed about in the water a little cold now as she was not moving a lot. She thought to herself' all i wanted was a quite long swim.' she smiled. Ivy shivered in the water. " We could go in? i'm getting a bit cold now iv stopped swimming, it could give you a peace of mind." She said as she smiled to the girl.

She swung around and started swimming back to shore. She slipped and swam under the water a few times. She swam faster underwater than she did on the surface. She often thought as a girl that she wanted to be a mermaid. She loved the water and how free it made her feel. She surfaced took a few breaths and went back under. Getting closer to the shore she felt the bottom of the lake. Ivy brought her legs up and pushed off the bottom and walked out. She brushed her wet hair out of her face. She had a bobble on her wrist and she pulled her hair up into a messy bun. As soon as the wind made a cold lick at her skin she shivered and rushed to her things. She pulled her towel around her and sat down with her knees to her chest. As she dried off and warmed up. She looked out the the lake and smiled at the girl.

Clinging to the canoe, Katerina kicked towards the shore. It was much harder getting to shore with a canoe, even though they weren't really that far out. "Ares? Really?" [/color] she said through strokes in the water. "I don't know if this is offensive or not but I didn't peg you as an Ares kid" [/color] she said smiling. Paddling along behind Ivy as she dipped in and out of the water, flipping her hair out of her eyes she huffed. This was why she didn't swim...Metal and water didn't mash well together. "Yeah I know what you mean." [/color] she said "my things used to disappear daily but I made this sot of alarm system that...well...long story, short...they end up in a net." [/color] she said smiling. Everyone now knew not to invade her bunk space or touch her things.

Katerina smiled "Yeah sounds like a great idea" [/color] she said still paddling into the shore. Ivy being much faster and such a great swimmer reached the shore first, while it took Katerina a few more minutes. When she reached the dock she scrambled onto the tipped canoe and jumped to land gracefully on the docks. She flipped the canoe back upright and dragged it from the water up to the sand and went over to where her belongings lay in the sand.

Quickly shaking the sand from her towel she wrapped herself in the blanket. Her newly made weapon laying in the sand which was buried under her towel. She snatched up the compact mirror that she had been given by her half sister...she really didn't know what this blessing constituted but her half sister Sarina, one of the head counselors of the Aphrodite cabin gave her this mirror something about some grease on her face, no matter she just kept it around and not until recently had she made a weapon out of the tiny mirror. No one would suspect a weapon as her mirror. Genius. She walked over to where Ivy sat down, which wasn't to far away and sat down. Smiling she showed her the compact mirror. "You'll never guess what this is" [/color] she said a devilish smile on her face.
