Chase had been spending months on these blue prints. He felt like he had to do something for this camp before he decided to leave or stay. And this was what he decided to do. If his kids ever came here they would be proud of their dad for helping out the cabins. In his hands were the blueprints for a cabin for the unclaimed kids. The Hermes cabin was already too crowded with how many kids Hermes had. They didn't need the unclaimed kids in there as well. This cabin was big enough to hold all they had now and more so for the future.
He had already had these plans accepted by Chiron and today was the day his cabin would start, and hopefully finish, building it. A lot of his cabin members had been down to help and even a few unclaimed, that wanted a say, wanted to help as well. He was fine with that. The more the merrier. He stood in front of the empty spot that would host the cabin. It sat at the end of the cabins, next to the minor cabin. He looked at that one as well. What he wouldn't give to build a cabin for each minor god or goddess kid that came to camp as well. The future. Perhaps.
He was the first one here, which was probably the best. It allowed him to set up a few things before the rest came here. He had a tool belt, thanks to the Hephaestus cabin, that was charmed to give him almost any tool he might need. And right now he needed a tape measure and some flag stakes. After retrieving those from the bag he measured out the dimensions of the cabin. Placing a flag stake at the point of each corner. It made the perfect area for building. He hoped he would get a couple kids from other cabins that could control rock or something to build the cabin from. It would be much easier this way.
As he placed in the last couple stakes, he noticed that a small group had gathered and started to converse. Someone, probably from his cabin, had been smart enough to bring a table for the blue prints. Walking over to the table, he laid out the schematics and places a pin at each corner to hold it down. With that done, he turned to look at the group gathered. He cleared his throat before speaking. "Hello everyone. For those of you who know me, thanks for coming and helping. And for those who don't, thanks as well and my name is Chase Taylor. I'm a son of Athena and have made it my mission to make this camp fair. As of right now, it isn't. The Hermes kids have to share that cabin with every new kid that comes in here unclaimed. I've been there before I was claimed. I know how crowded it gets."
He glanced around to see some heads nodding. "With this cabin for the unclaimed, it will give the Hermes children their cabin back. Here's the blue prints for the structure of the cabin. Of course, the unclaimed have the responsibility of getting a majority of the interior to their liking. After all, I'm not supplying beds and dressers." He gave a small smile before continuing it. "If you guys don't mind, I have assigned groups based on your capabilities and strengths. Some of you will be laying the floor while others will be building that sides and so on. Lets make this cabin unique. It will hold a bunch of different kids from The Big Three to the minor gods and goddess."
As he finished his little speech, he waited to see if anyone would ask questions before starting to assign people to their stations. Pointing them in the direction of the tools they would need. Hopefully this would all run smoothly and by the end of the day a new cabin would be standing amongst the others here.
