There is almost always one kid in your class who almost never talks to anyone. And Hastings just happens to be that one person. Some may think that the reason she doesn't talk to anyone is because she is shy and simply quiet. That, as-a-matter-of-fact, is not the case. Hastings is not shy, she simply doesn't enjoy talking to people or social interaction in general. The only person she really likes to talk to, or really will talk to is her twin sister, Elizabeth. Yet, just because she is anti-social, doesn't mean that she is quiet.
Hastings for sure has a way of making her opinion known. And known to just about anyone within earshot. Hastings can be a little bit opinionated on certain occasions. So with that she can also get a little bit defensive when others begin to question her opinions. At times, Hastings may even try and force what she thinks and believes onto other people who don't share her thoughts or beliefs. And she can be a but honest when it comes to what she thinks about what they believe. Maybe a bit to honest to say the least.
When it comes to honesty, Hastings finds it to be extremely important, and takes the whole honesty thing to a bit of an extreme. With her, it isn't really honesty anymore, it is more of bluntness. Some may even call it rudeness because Hastings doesn't skip-a-beat when it comes to telling the truth, and this also plays in with the fact that she is a very opinionated girl. Also, when she is asked what she thinks of something, Hastings isn't afraid to say exactly what she thinks, and may not take a persons feelings into account when she says it.[/ul]

`` history & family
Personal History:
Six months later, Penelope gave birth to her twins, two baby girls. Although, she regrettably died giving birth to the two, dying from blood loss of all things. And having no family that would be willing to take two small children the would have to go into foster care. Which was the last thing that Penelope wanted. Also, even though they where babies, no one wished to separate them, and not many wanted to have to take care of two babies, especially when one of them would never stop crying no matter what anyone did to try and calm her down. This then lead to Hastings and Elizabeth to start their endless journey through the foster system.
Over the next few years of Hastings and Elizabeth's life, they had gone through several foster homes, almost getting adopted several times, but then a better offer would always seem to come up. Sending the sisters to another foster home where the same thing would happen. Although getting given up to another family was partly Hastings fault. Even at a young age, she was always getting herself into trouble, even where she never meant any harm.
As Hastings began to get older, she became much more sensible and realized that she probably wouldn't get adopted, especially when she was getting into so much trouble all the time. But she didn't let that bother her too much, after all, she still had her sister by her side, and hopefully, she always wouldn't have her sister there to get her through everything that had been going on with the foster system and everything.
School was even harder for Hastings then she had imagined. It was also hard for her sister. Both of then had dyslexia, along with ADHD, Hastings having a more severe case of ADHD then her sister, Elizabeth had. Hastings found it extremely hard to pay attention in school, and extremely hard to learn, especially when she had dyslexia and it being almost impossible for her to read or write at all. Hastings would then have to work extra hard, even harder then her sister when it comes to school.
The longer that Hastings spent in foster care, the more and more distant she became when it comes to people. She never made any friends at school, for she knew that it would only make it harder to leave when the time came for her and her sister to switch schools and move somewhere else. She always tried to tell her sister that there was no point in making friends, but Elizabeth would simply go and be friendly to another person and tell Hastings that she could make friends if she wanted to, and Elizabeth is the only person that Hastings doesn't try and argue with.
By the time she trurned 12, Hastings had been in so many schools and so Manu foster homes that she want even sure how many exactly. And the only two people she talked to on a regular backs was her sister, and her social worker, Mr. Daniels. But due to how long they have known each other, Hastings calls him by his first name, Leo. Hastings finds that he is always wearing a fedora which covers up his black curly hair. He also has a limp and uses a crutch, he says it's because of a car crash he had as a kid, but Hastings has her doubts.
One day, after arriving in Leo's office because they had need "given back" by yet another foster family, Leo told them that he believed them to be ready. At first, Hastings was confused as to what she and Elizabeth could possibly be ready for. But based on the smile on his face, it had to be something at least remotely good. And so, Leo told them he would drive them to a "special place for special kids" at first, Hastings was a little freaked out, she wondered what was so special about her. But seeing as she didn't have any other options, Hastings reluctantly went with Leo to the special place she and Elizabeth would be going to.
Once she reached the special place, Hastings couldn't believe it. She couldn't believe what Leo had to say either. She was sure that she was being pranked, and even ran out of the camp and sat at the base of a tree. And asked Leo when he came to see if she was all right, if this place was for crazy people. He asked her why it would and she responded because she saw him with horns and goat legs. Also that she was being told her father was a god. And with Hastings being such a serious and rational person, she couldn't seem to find any realism in any of this.
Finally, Hastings managed to accept that it all was real. But that didn't stop her from constantly questioning how this was real, mainly to herself then anyone else. Elizabeth on the other hand, was completely accepting of it all. That is, until they got claimed by their father, who turned out to be Ares, the god of war. After that, and they started their training to become heroes, Elizabeth began to fall behind her sister.
With Hastings having a more severe case of ADHD, she then had much better reflexes then Elizabeth. Which made fighting much easier for Hastings then for her sister. And around camp, people questioned if Elizabeth was even a child of Ares, she is just so... gentle. Of course, after a long tine of training, Hastings began to make them regret making fun if her sister. And even though Elizabeth is still behind Hastings, she is helping her sister, helping her so that Hastings won't always have to act as the "big brother". Luckily, since they each arrived at age twelve, both are much better fighters. And have a much better understanding of where they came from. [/ul]

RP Sample:Throughout her entire life, Milli had been given everything she could ask for. Everything was simply given to her without a second through. Her mother wanted everything for her little girl, and wanted to make sure that she had everything that she didn't as a child. Which was pretty much everything. She had to work for everything she ever had in life. Which was why she wanted her daughter Milli to have everything, and never have to lift a single finger.
Most people would find this life close to perfection. Not having to work or do anything for yourself, but Milli didn't. Milli couldn't stand the fact that she wasn't alloyed to do close to anything because it was done for her. All Milli wanted to do was feel what it is like to work and do something herself for once. But every time she would bring that topic up with her mother. She would get shut down faster than a restaurant with a rat infestation. Only, all that trying only made Milli all the more protestant, the time had finally come here Sawyer would able to stand on her own two feet. After years of asking and begging, Milli's mother finally allowed her to become a trainer.
Milli still did not know what she was going to do with her life quiet yet, but she strongly hoped that this journey as a Pokémon trainer would help her to find out who she really was, and what she really wanted to be. And also to make friendships, with people she would meet along the way, and Pokémon that she would come to love and grow a strong connection to as she journeyed across the Kurhe region in search of who she was truly meant to be and what she really wanted to do with her life. But most of all, to show her mother that she was independent and ready to be her own person and to write her own story.
---
The early morning air was cool and crisp. It felt good against Milli's pale skin, as she took a step out of the comfort of her warm, familiar home in which she had lived all her life. But it was also her past, it was time for Milli to move on, move past her old life, and onto the new life she would start on this journey. Her journey to find herself.
Finally, it's here, the day I start my journey! Milli thought with excitement as she took her first steps true steps into the world. These where the first steps she had taken that where not watched over so tediously by her mother's eye. These where the first steps that Milli would take on her journey to finding herself and what she was truly made of, and who she really was on the inside, not just the person her mother always said that she would be, from this point on, it was Milli's choice what she would day say and do, not her mothers anymore.
Although, of course, Milli's mother couldn't help but to come running out of the house to say good-bye one more time. Tears where apparent in her green eyes. It couldn't be easy for her to let go of the daughter she had held so tightly for so long. It almost made Milli feel bad for wanting to leave her. But she quickly scolded herself. This was her time. This was her chance to finally break free, follow her own heart, not listen to the words of someone else. Her mother would soon realize that too.
"Mom, don't cry, I'll be back home before you know it. And I'll tell you all about my adventures," Milli said, feeling as if she where going to start crying herself. Then gave her mother one last hug, fighting back tears as she heard her mother weep on her shoulder. For a while, they just stood there, holding each other in front of the house. When finally, Milli had to pull away, she couldn't stand to hug her mother anymore. "I have to go mom, I love you," Milli said, giving her mom a kiss on the cheek before turning a leaving, trying not to look back.
Her father had told her that the best way to start her journey as a Pokémon trainer, was to visit the Pokémon lab, and he would know, Milli's father had told her many amazing stories about Pokémon. He had been a trainer himself, and as a matter-of-fact, he had been the one who inspired Milli to become a trainer and start her journey. So the Pokémon lab was to be where Milli would start her Pokémon journey, and be the first place that she was to travel.
Feeling as if she wasn't sure where she was, Milli gazed down at the map that had been given to her by her over protective mother, just in case that she got lost. Although she had argued that she wouldn't need a map to tell her where she was supposed to go, Milli was happy that her mother is just as stubborn as Milli is, and she had ended up with the map, because without it, she defiantly wouldn't be able to find her way around, and would most likely be lost now if it wasn't for that map.
Slipping her map back into the bag that she kept at her side, Milli continued on. And as she walked along, Milli took in everything as she passed. She watched as everything slowly began to change as she become further and further from her home. It fascinated her at just how much things could alter and how different the scenery began to look. It was awe-inspiring, Milli was glad that she hadn't chosen to stay home.
Finding herself at the doorstep of the Pokémon lab, Milli took a deep breath, attempting to comprehend her excitement. This had to be the best, if not one of the best moments of her entire life. This was the place where she would be attaining a Pokémon. The Pokémon that she would be taking with her on her journey. The Pokémon that she would be bonding with and growing a relationship with. Maybe she would get a grass type, or water type. Maybe even a fire type, which was the type that she really wanted. There was just something about them that Milli loved.
Turning the door knob, Milli stepped inside the door, a little hesitantly at first, but Milli swallowed her hesitation and stepped all the way inside the lab. "Hello," Milli called as she gazed around. Curious as to who would be there to greet her and what Pokémon she would have to choose from. Hopefully strong and powerful Pokémon that would really help her along her path.
