Hastings sat on the edge of her bed, foot pulled up on the bed as she began to tie her usual black combat boots. She usually wore the exact same thing everyday. Her one pair of shoes, which of course where her leather combat boots. Then she wore one of her three pairs of skinny jeans. And then, Hastings would wear an orange Camp Half-Blood t-shirt with the camp name across the chest. Sometimes when it's cold, Hastings wears a black zip-up jacket but not now, it was too warm out. Then around her neck, a bronze locket which transforms into a long bronze sword.
With her shoes tied, Hastings stood up and walked across the floor of the Ares cabin, which was more like a war hut if you ask anyone else. But Hastings had to admit, it does seem that way, especially with all the barbed wire that is located all over the cabin. On the roof and various places around the cabin. Not to mention how the table on the other side of the cabin is stained with blood. But that's just another day in the Ares cabin.
Making her way out of the door, Hastings chuckled a little at the huge stuffed boars head that hung there. Hastings herself had nicknamed the boar, Boris. Although she had no idea what he was really called, or what everyone else called him. Hastings just liked to go her own way. Also, she never really talked to anyone else around camp much. Hastings had never been one to make many friends, or ever have any. But she may just realize that she would have a much better time here if she actually made friends.
"See'ya Boris," Hastings told the head as she made her way down the steps that lead up to the cabin. And as she walked across the ground, Hastings made sure to step carefully because of the mines, but after four years, she had mostly memorized where all of them where located and didn't need much thinking. After all, after a long time of doing things they start to become simply habit. Which was what avoiding the landmines had started to become for Hastings and most likely all of the Ares cabin.
Once out of the way of all the landmines, Hastings headed straight to the arena. It was the place in which she started her day, and usually where she finished it as well. After all, Hastings didn't have any friends so there was no real place age needed to be throughout the day. Besides, she enjoyed hacking up huge, life-sized wooded training dummies into tens of pieces. It relived stress, even though since getting here, Hastings didn't have much to get stressed about.
Upon reaching the training arena, Hastings slipped the bronze locket from her neck and opened it. Once open, it turned into a long bronze blade with a leather handle. It was the perfect size for Hastings, and she had become rather skilled with the long blade. Also, if it was ever lose, the locket would end up right back on her neck. That was the best thing about it in Hastings opinion. It is also brilliant for chopping up fighting dummies, which Hastings was doing rather swiftly with her bronze sword slicing through the air with pristine accuracy.
