The weather had yet to cool down, even though fall was approaching swiftly. Lux herself couldn't believe that it was already almost September, and per tradition, her mother had sent her some more winter-esque clothes — but she had yet to wear them, because the weather was anything but respecting tradition. The New York air was humid and sticky and made it hard to breathe.
Lux was not a big fan of such weather, and so she had taken to spending more time inside than normal. If only it would snow, or a gust of cool wind would blow through the camp or — or just something. The long strip of sunburn on the Ares girl's arm was a reminder of just how brutal the sun had been the past few months; even more than was normal. Every day when she woke up now, Lux would either roll over to try and escape the sunshine or jump in the lake right after breakfast.
But the sun was beating down so thickly that it was little comfort.
There was one thing you couldn't skip all the time regardless of weather, and that one thing was mealtimes. Lux herself wasn't that hungry, but she had promised herself she would try and train that morning and so she decided to at least try and eat a good breakfast...a regular breakfast, something that would stay in her stomach. After eating several strawberries and a bowl of cereal, she cleared her plate and got up, heading in the general direction of the arena. But before she got there...
"Oh my gods!" Lux cried, rouge creeping up her cheeks, as she rammed into another camper. "I am such a clod. Are you okay?!" She extended her hand to the camper, not taking the time to really examine them and memorize their face. She was too embarrassed and sincerely sorry. You would have thought she had accidentally maimed someone.
