"Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all."
It was starting to freak her out.
It was just the flu, right? There was no reason for everyone to be so up in a tizzy. But they were, and that was what worried her. She hadn't caught it, thank Persephone, but she'd be watching herself like a hawk. Too many people were getting sick, and the Apollo kids looked like every one of them was about to drop dead on the spot. She'd ended up running back and forth between the infirmary and the Big House for nearly three hours the day before, which had been exhausting enough, but to think that those poor kids did it all day - she'd have to stop by and offer to help again later. She'd never been sick in her life, not with anything more than a headache - perhaps that was part of her mother's gift, she mused. The the 'poisons of the world' include illnesses?
The weather was cooling down - probably not a good thing, with as many people were sick. She was still wearing that bright orange shirt, though she'd pulled on a long sleeved black shirt before hand, and as the wind blew her hair into a mess, she was glad. It kept the chill away, even if it wasn't really cold quite yet. She was a creature of springtime, but seeing as that was one of her mother's domains, that wasn't really surprising. She continued on her trek to the climbing wall, glancing around. It was a Saturday, she knew, but there were so few people around. Might be some party by the lake, of course, as she was rarely invited to those, but she figured she would have at least heard about it like usual. Then again, it was still early in the morning - everyone was probably sleeping in on their day off. Or trying, anyway.
She was prone to rising almost before the sun, most of the time with it. She'd complete her morning ritual, check on her roses, and then creep out of the Minor cabin, usually without waking anyone up. This, though, wasn't really early... it was about nine, and she'd probably run to eat after she finished at the wall. Probably wouldn't take her long - she'd hit the top for the first time when she was fourteen, and it had continually gotten more difficult from then on. She'd made it since, several times, usually at least once or twice a month, but the bruises and scars she had to show for it almost weren't worth it. She was fit, and she was strong, but she wasn't an Ares kid by any means. They were like bulls to her... sheep. Yeah, she was pretty sure she'd be a sheep.
She couldn't help her train of thought from going to what some of the other campers she knew would be, if they were animals - comically enough, a few of the Aphrodite girls were flamingos. She reached the wall and chuckled at herself, tossing her bag into one of the spectators seats and squatting down to roll up her pants. She was not going to repeat the time she'd tripped herself up by stepping on her own pants ever again - that had been painful. And she really didn't think that the Apollo kids could handle much more to deal with.
