It's the most beautiful time of the year.
Lights fill the streets spreading so much cheer.
I should be playing in the winter snow,
But I'mma be under the mistletoe.

David sat inside his cabin looking at the gifts that he had gotten for Chloë. They were all roses, all with some sort of meaning of love as far as their color went. Apart from the gold necklace of course. Two pairs of earrings, one light pink and one a deep red. Then of course the silver ring with the light pink rose. They were beautiful gifts he did not think so himself. All hand-picked by David as well. No input from any of the girls in his cabin and no one had seen them either. He closed the purple box that was wrapped in red and green ribbon and set it beside the watch he would put on later.
He had already showered and was lying on his bed as the girls in the cabin ran around throwing on different clothes and such. He wore his black pants so far. He hadn't gotten up to do the rest yet. His hair was still wet from the shower. Just then a dress was thrown on him by one of the girls who were throwing clothes out of her trunk trying to find the perfect dress. "Cynthia. This one would be good for you." He said holding the dress up and off of him as he stayed down. The dress was elegant and red with a green bow around the waist. It also was hemmed green. She turned around saw it and gasped before grabbing it from him and running into the bathroom to change.
He rolled his eyes but couldn't help the laugh and smirk that escaped his lips. He wondered why Cinder had even chosen to make his Secret Santa gift Chloë. Sure she was cute and they flirted, but that was it. He hadn't ever really asked her out on a date of sorts or anything like that. But Cinder must have saw something between the two that even he was unaware of. He sighed and rolled up so that he was sitting on the edge of his bed. The cabin was still bustling with activity but he had a feeling that would not be dying down anytime soon.
He got up turning to his clothes that were laid out on his bed. He quickly tugged on the white button up, and started to button it up while facing the cabins. All the girls here, and some of the guys, were just finishing their touches. The girls with their makeup and hair, and the guys with just their hair. He turned back and grabbed the bow tie that was already pre-tied. The purple stood out against the white, but he liked purple so he wasn't going to stand out. Plus, he had a feeling that Chloë like purple as well. If they ended up seeing each other then maybe he could persuade her into a dance.
He looked between the purple vest and the black suit jacket that he had laid right next to each other. They were supposed to go together to complete the outfit, but with the dancing he would probably do tonight he would be fine without the jacket. The white button up had long sleeves and would be fine enough without another layer. He grabbed the purple vest and slid it on buttoning it with the couple buttons it had. He pulled on the gold wrist watch to give him some other color and a little something extra. He also wanted to be aware of the time. He had already gotten in trouble enough the past couple days with not making curfew. But even though the party went till 4, he would be in his cabin by 5.
That was definitely enough time. He walked into the bathroom and stood behind one of the shorter girls who were applying her makeup. He quickly combed out his hair and then laid it all down. The front he made puff up a bit to make him appear taller than the girls who were usually shorter than him, but thanks to their heels, they would be the same height. His hair in totality came along pretty well. With that he was out the door. Cynthia caught up to him just as he stepped off the porch. His hands were in his pockets and he couldn't help the feeling that he had forgotten something.
"I think you left this behind. Whoever getting it is a lucky girl. If it wasn't your bed it was laying on I would've swiped it." She said handing him the little purple bow with green and red ribbon. He gave a sigh of relief before giving her a quick hug and then sliding it into his pocket. "Thanks so much Cyn. You really saved my butt. I owe you one." With that the siblings walked the rest of the way to the dance.
He was amazed by how well the decorations turned out. But then again, it was Cinder he was talking about. Cinder never slacked off. She always did a great job. If she wasn't taken by Jaime, or James as he liked to call himself again, he would probably try to flirt it up with her, he would have to be stupid to not see her beauty. Cynthia waved bye to David as she headed over to the table to drop off her Secret Santa gift and then head to Paul. Her boyfriend from the Ares cabin. The two actually were really good and cute together.
David paused at the entrance trying to decide. He could drop off his present at the table and then just hope that Chloë found it and him. Or he could hold onto it and try to find her. His face was contorted into a bit of focus when all of a sudden he was snapped out of it. A girl, whom he believed he had flirted with before was touching her lips to his. His eyes widened for a minute. Sure he had flirted with girls, but he didn't kiss them. If so not publicly like this. She broke it off and beamed up at him. "You are under the mistletoe so I had to take advantage of you." She said with a wink as she ran off.
He stood there in a daze. Take advantage of him? That just didn't make sense. He shook his head and looked up. Sure enough there was one right above his head. He was near the entrance. If Chloë hadn't arrived yet, she would see him near here and he wondered what she would do. He smirked to himself and leaned to the side and against a post. He smiled and watched the people go by. When some girls would step forward he would feign interest with something and turn around and walk a couple steps away. Once they would leave he would go back to his spot. His hand never left his pocket where the gift box was. Guess he would just have to give it to her in person then.
