General Information
Full Name: Her birth name is Katrina Marie Botticello, but Artemis gave her the name Alegria Bendetta Beatrice, meaning “Cheerful and Blessed Voyager Through Life” in a rough translation. She reserves the name Artemis gave her for the huntresses and Artemis to use, so most people know her as Katrina.

Birthday: June 1st, 1985.
Age: She's twenty seven, but she looks fifteen.

Claim Status: Not really, but she knows who it is.
Divine Parent: Demeter, but she's a Huntress of Artemis.
Looks
Hair: It goes just past her chest in spike-y and brown waves. For the most part, it's easy to take care of. She doesn't know what it looks like. So she usually just throws it over her shoulder carelessly. When it gets to where it's too messy, she does her best to brush it out, but messy or brushed, it looks really pretty.
Eyes: Needless to say, she's blind. Her eyes used to be a dark blue-gray, but since she went blind, her eyes are bright white, like a snow bank had settled over them. She usually keeps them open so that people don't think she's sleep-walking or something, and she uses her ears to guess where people are. Don't be surprised if she pinpoints exactly where your face is and actually looks at it while you talk. And don't be surprised if she stares six inches above your head, or two feet too the left or right of you. She has skills, but they are not perfect.
Height: 5'5''; not tall, not short. She's like, the perfect female height, if that's possible.
Weight: 98lbs. She's skinny, but surprisingly strong.

Dressing Style: When she's hunting or just with her fellow Huntresses, she usually just throws on a t-shirt and jeans. She knows what she's picking out by feeling it, so she generally sticks with forest-y colors that will make her blend in. Sometimes she'll get her shirts confused and accidentally put on the wrong one, or wear a shirt inside-out until someone tells her, but for the most part she is competent in picking her own clothes and wearing normal things. Though, on occasion, she doesn't mind dressing up if the opportunity arrives.
General Appearance: There is always a smile on her face, whether it's sympathetic or loving or kind is another story, but it's always there. She seems to have “imposing emotions”, as in if she where to walk in somewhere happy, the room would light up, but if she walked in somewhere sad, the room would darken.
Other than that, she's pretty. Men are usually attracted to her until they get close enough to her to tell that she's blind. They usually see that as a serious physical flaw and usually turn away. That and the scar on her neck and the other scars on her arms turn people off. She is good at fighting while blind, but years of mistakes have taken their toll on her looks, and that is easily visible.
Fun Fact: She is really resistant to cold; she could wear shorts and t-shirts out in the snow.

Personality Description:
Believe it or not, she could probably kick your butt. Unless your extremely good, I mean. But blind or not, she's still a huntress. She hears you moving (she could hear a rabbit breaking wind if it was in a thirty foot radius, so don't pretend that your quiet enough to sneak up on her) so she is able to pin-point where you are in order to strike. And sometimes she misses, but when she strikes, she strikes hard. That said, Katrina doesn't exactly LIKE hurting things. And it's not like she sits there beating the crap out of someone. She just wrestles them to the ground or get them to the ground via punch, then turns around to who ever is standing there and says, "Do you guys want to go get waffles?" and walks off in her own day-dream.
And that's another part of her personality. She's as sweet as apple pie and as day-dreamy as a lucid dream. In a lot of ways, she's like an old fashioned teenager. She enjoys reading braille (her favorite books include To Kill A Mocking Bird, Perelandra, Animal Farm and all those classics) and listening to classic rock (Carry On Wayward Son, Eye of the Tiger and Dust in the wind are among her favorite songs) – sometimes she even listens to full-out rock music like Bon Jovi or Metallica because it reminds her of her time in the hospital, which she finds important to remember, but she only does rarely. Another way she's old-fashioned is that she doesn't understand iPod's and iPhones and all of those. She was around people very old for far too long (her fellow Huntresses) to care about modern technology. And it is also the reason that she talks like she's older then she is. Instead of saying "I dunno what you mean," she would say, "I do not understand." And it is also the reason that she does not get most modern music and text chat. She just doesn't get the world and where it's heading, and that's why she usually is in her own little world.
But that does not mean that she doesn't understand anything else, she just simply refuses to accept modern techniques and does things her own way, or the way of Artemis. She still is in touch with other things, but she keeps her own originality on everything. She is her own person, so she keeps it that way. Or, sometimes she will consider opinions based on those she is loyal too and does her hardest to find things in common between them so that they will be more relate-able, but she still would not conform herself.
Her fatal flaw is fear. Not only because it comes easily, but because she pushes herself to the breaking point. Somewhere in her is enough to pride to set off a bomb, so she refuses to admit that she's terrified of things until she's on the floor, crying and screaming because she can't handle what's going on. The reason that fear comes easily is because she can never see what she's up against, so she always fears that it's bigger then it really is. Take a monster for example, every time she finds one she assumes it's as big as the sky so that she doesn't underestimate. She tries to keep others close to her so that they can quickly tell her what it looks like or whatever so that she knows what to do. Being alone is her downfall that leads to her fatal flaw.

Powers: Her greatest skill is also her greatest weakness. She is usually good at separating sounds, but sometimes she gets confused while in a crowded area and misjudges how close people are and who is who and if someones behind her or not. For example, everyone has a unique footstep, and if she is around certain people a lot, she can identify who it is just by them walking. But if there are a bunch of people walking, she can't tell who is who and she starts inwardly or outwardly freaking out. Unless she's in a large group of Huntresses, because she will most likely know every single one of them and, even though she'll get confused, she will be able to sort herself out easier.
She also has heightened taste and smell and touch, even by the Huntresses standards.
Family and History
Personal History:
Demeter came to Italy in the form of Maria Angellica DeMire. She met Alex Botticello, who worked as a landscaper and she was instantly in love. He had boyish charm and good looks, along with strength to till the ground. Because of Demeter's knowledge of plants and her beauty, they soon had an affair and as a result of faulty birth control, Demeter became pregnant. When she gave birth, Alex had no idea he had a daughter. Maria Angellica DeMire gave up a blind baby for adoption before staring at the birth certificate and scribbling down a name she thought sounded nice, which was Katrina Marie Botticello.
She got adopted by Alexandra and Alessandro Conti. When she was four, she got cancer. Mixed with her ADHD, dyslexia and blindness she was a freak. When she was eight, they moved to America and Alessandro got a job in the world trade center. She was still in and out of the hospital, in serious pain and bullied by the few people she knew. There was hardly a day that went by without tears.
When she was fifteen (September 11th, 2000), she still has a shaved head and scars all over her. For the moment, she was out of the hospital, but she was expecting a swing at any moment. She and her adopted mother where picking Aless up from work. Katrina remembers sitting in the car wishing she could see, before opening the door to step out, tears streaming down her face from an incident with a bully earlier that day. She and Alexandra walked towards the building, and that's when she heard it: a sound like a gunshot, only much louder, followed by the sound of breaking rubble and a huge explosion, like something destroyed the sky and it started crashing in on them.
She remembers the instant pain of getting crushed and pinned by rubble before it all went black.
When she woke up in a hospital room, she heard "She's not going to make it. Her vital signs show her on the verge of death." And other things of that manner. She remembers feeling the instant tears wet her face as she tried to breath through the pain and thought, this is it... and felt fear claw out her heart and dump it into the trash can. She tried to tell them to tell her adopted parents she loved them, but then realized they where probably the ones she felt holding her hands. Before she faded into nothingness, she remembered hearing "Wait... what? This makes no sense!" She thought that they where talking about her dying sooner then they thought, but she then blacked out.
When she awoke, there was a beautiful women in front of her. She explained how her mother was Demeter and how she, Katrina, would be welcomed to join something called the Huntresses of Artemis and take an oath to be rid of any company of man in exchange for Artemis giving her life. But she decided that Katrina would have amazing skills without her sight, so she wouldn't cure her of her blindness. Katrina was dubious at first, but soon gave in – the company of a man seemed a small price to pay for life.
She turned healthy, the doctors all saying she was a walking miracle. Her cancer was cured and her body intact; everything except for the sight. Katrina gave her loyalty to Artemis and soon Artemis gave her a new name, Alegria Bendetta Beatrice. Soon she found a wolf in the woods and named her Pillicca, meaning Silver in Italian, because that is what everyone said she was. She taught the wolf tricks as they went along hunting, going all over America, then soon stopping at Camp Half-Blood.
