RP Sample:Minerva sat in her office. It was late at night and she was grading quizzes from her third year students. The aging woman was exhausted, but she knew she had to get the grading done. Luckily for her she didn't have to wear her robes and was wearing her green nightclothes. This was so she could she blow the candle out and go to bed when she was done grading. Her eyes looked around a few times. Several ghosts had taken refuge in her office to do their own thing and Minerva let them be. She had no problem with the ghosts.
The only sounds she heard were the scratching of her quill and the rain beating down outside. A stormy night, but luckily Minerva's living quarters did not see her outside in the rain. Humming to herself she finished grading the last quiz. Like always there were some good students and some not so good students. Setting the papers to the side she prepared to head to her rooms. Turning to the ghosts she told them they had to leave and so the ghosts left without complaint. Minerva looked at the time. 11 PM. It had taken her three hours to grade the papers. Oh the joys of being a professor.
With a wry smile she took the candle to her rooms and set it on the bedside table. She took down her tightly pinned hair and felt the hair fall past her shoulders like a curtain. It felt good to let down her hair. With a sigh the woman blew out the candle and slid into her warm bed. It was rare that she ever got to bed before midnight and it meant she just might actually get some sleep. Making sure she could be up in enough time for her lessons the next day Minerva fell into a deep slumber.

What Makes Them Them
Personality Description: Artemisia has always been an active child. She could never keep still during school and was always frustrated when the books she tried to read always looked like they were written in another language, despite them being English. While growing up, Artemisia had been classified with A.D.H.D., Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder. To Artemisia she didn't really understand the medical language, but she understood that it made her struggle in her surroundings.
However, Artemisia has always been interested in Greek history and mythology, she herself being of Greek decent. The girl enjoys learning things about the subject and her favorite mythological Greek figures are Ajax and Chiron.
Artemisia has a great love for animals. She has begged her mother to get her a pet for some time and was always disappointed when her mother said no. Artemisia feels that she could be capable of something as simple as caring for an animal, but the girl has come to realize that maybe her mother is correct. She wishes she wasn't so different and could be a normal girl.
Because of this, Artemisia has no friends. No one, but her mother understands her and she finds herself the laughingstock of her peers because she can't read properly. This makes Artemisia angry and depressed and she lashes out in retaliation. Some of her teachers try their best to help her while others are content in putting her in detention for her "violent" behavior.
Artemisia hates fighting and tries to avoid it at all costs, however, she will never sit by and take a beating from her peers. She will throw some punches back in order to defend herself. Because of the fact that no one understands Artemisia she won't step up and defend another student if they are being bullied or harassed by their peers. To Artemisia the world is completely against her.
Artemisia has three known fears and a secret one, though the secret one was guessed by her mother. Artemisia is of the monsters that have been hanging around, she started noticing them when she was nine, losing her mother, she was always close to her mother, and fire. Campfires is one thing, but Artemisia is terrified of something like a house fire.
Her secret fear is cars. She had caught a bit of a horror movie one night and she has been a little scared ever since. She never told her mother and even came up with a little ditty to make herself get onto the bus or into a car to go somewhere. Artemisia is also afraid that if she is in a moving vehicle that it will crash and that she will die.
Likes: Learning new things, hearing stories about her father (whoever he is), Greek mythology, animals, and swimming
Dislikes: Fighting (even though she has great reflexes), bullies, certain teachers, being different, and sunny days
Fears: The monsters chasing her, losing her mother, and fire
Secrets: Has a fear of cars (never told anyone, though her mother figured it out)
Ambitions: To find out who her father is and to live a normal life (like that will ever happen)
Powers: Ability to swim underwater and not lose air and healing wounds when touching water.
Family and History
Personal History: Artemisia was born to Laura Williams at Saint Jude's Hospital. Laura never told her daughter who her father was, just that he was a kind and compassionate man. Growing up, Artemisia was always close to her mother and often begged her to tell her stories of how she and dad met.
Artemisia loved how the romance between her mother and father happened and led them to have Artemisia. However, the girl's cousins would always tease her relentlessly about not having a father to be there for her as she grew up. Artemisia took this concern to her mother who in turn talked to her sister, Elizabeth. This led to Tia and Rebecca teasing Artemisia even more.
When the girl was seven she started swimming for pleasure and quickly learned how to swim. That was when she first started noticing that she could swim underwater without losing air for many minutes at a time. When Artemisia was nine her cousins witnessed one of Artemisia's solo swimming sessions and called her a freak for staying under the water for six minutes or more.
From then on Artemisia tried not to go around water when her family was around. No matter what Artemisia's mother, aunt, or uncle did, Tia and Rebecca were always there tormenting their cousin. Even when Artemisia was at school her fellow peers would torment the poor girl and treat her like she was not wanted. If a physical fight would happen all Artemisia would do is throw a punch to defend herself, but that was when she was branded "violent" by most of the school staff.
Around this time, Artemisia began noticing some weird people watching her every movement. At first she played it off as nothing, but as the months wore on she saw that these "people" were not people at all. Artemisia thought she was going crazy and never told her mother. She could have sworn three of them looked like the Fates from Greek Mythology, cutting a string. The girl was terrified.
However, it was a week after her eleventh birthday that things got really weird. She was walking home from school and this huge dog came out of no where and ran at Artemisia relentlessly. The dog, a hellhound, even gave Artemisia a nip on the hand. The girl ran home in fright and told her mother what had happened. She found her mother upset that she hadn't said anything before and told her daughter to leave and go to Camp Half-Blood.
Artemisia tried to ask her mother why she was saying that, but Laura only told her daughter to run. Artemisia ran. She didn't even take anything with her except the clothes on her back and the necklace that her father had given to her mother to give to Artemisia when the time was right, she had gotten the necklace when she was six. Since then, Artemisia has been on the run trying to find this Camp Half-Blood and find out what the heck was going on.
