So, there have been some violations of the unspoken cbox rules recently, and now they will be the spoken cbox rules. *clears throat* Here goes...
The most violated rule here on DotD is, first of all, impersonation. There have been some major and minor violations of this. And I'd like to make a few things clear. Even if it's a joke, impersonation is still a rule violation and will get you banned. Repeated offenses may result in permanent bans from the chatbox and/or the site, depending on seriousness.
It doesn't matter who you're impersonating. Whether it's a joke or serious, an actual member here, your imaginary sixteen-year-old sister who took your characters, or even a guest asking for information, it's not funny. Whether there are varying degrees of seriousness in impersonation, these will ALL result in banning. Pick an identity and stick with it, please.
Second of all, please refrain from ADVERTISING in general in the cbox. Advertising will result in banning for at least an hour. It doesn't matter what kind or form of advertising it is; it's advertising and advertising in the cbox is not allowed. In addition, conversations about other RPs are not permitted.
LINKING is another matter. Linking to a PiratePad where you would like a critique of your work, for example, is fine, however, excessive linking, particularly to other sites, is not allowed.
Third, FIGHTING in the cbox. Please just refrain. It's bad enough to fight with someone on a site without dragging everyone else into it. Take it to PM or take it nowhere, preferably the latter. We're all friends here, no?
And last, and one of the most serious issues, CYBERBULLYING. This is not allowed on our site to any degree, and ANY form of it will result in PERMANENT banning by the administrators. Any kind of bullying, cyber or RL, is extremely immature and mean. Not to mention, if you're bullying someone you don't even know on a Percy Jackson RPG site, you're the one with the problem.
Please don't hesitate to PM an admin with a screenshot of rule violations. The cbox should be a nice, OOC chatting place, but if it continues to be abused, the admins can and will take it away.
Thank you,
Maria, Ana, Rev and Zach.
