Er, I don't think I really have a representative RP length due to not having forumed for the last few months, but here's a post I like from 12-2011
Narrowing her eyes, she sat up straighter. The "we" was not promising. By the Disaster, were they an orphanage now? They were pirates; she hadn't signed on to play matron to a bunch of brats who were just going to die anyway. But of course the captain indulged his lover too much and Jase had a heart as big as a dragon and the brains of one too. Which was unfair of her, but she wasn't inclined to care.
He answered the accusation she hadn't mentioned. She closed her eyes, rubbing at her forehead with her palm. This was a sore point of his, she knew that, but it was one for her, too.
At the mention of that dratted Myla, she grimaced. Not that she had anything bad to say about the girl - even Elary had found herself privately horrified by the circumstances the kid was in and had given the brat's parents a good threatening - but it was clear that the girl didn't belong on the ship. Too soft, too shy, one more mouth to feed and too stupid and emotional to realize that the babe she'd been carrying was no good for her.
"People die every day," she said, her previous light mood gone. "And in case you haven't noticed, we're in the business of killing - or at least bankrupting - some of them."
"Besides, don't be so dramatic," she added. "They can't suffer Myla's fate, as you put it, if they don't even have parents."

Dressing Style: Amy doesn't dress too fancily most of the time - jeans and a t-shirt most of the time, though she picks flattering clothing. After all, her counselor prefers casual clothing most of the time - who is Amy to try to upstage Sarina? When she has a chance to dress up, though, she eagerly does so and goes with whatever the mainstream fashion dictated by the Aphrodite cabin and fashion mags is. She likes expensive, designer clothing, and wears perfume - something that smells a bit like lavender.
Her goals are twofold and slightly contradictory here: first, to look good, but second, to blend in with her sisters and not draw too much attention to herself.
General Appearance: Amy has a wide face that ends in a narrow chin; the result is that her large, bluish-grey eyes are prominent in her face. Her skin is pale, and her hair light blonde. She's of relatively average height and build.
As a daughter of Aphrodite, she's inherited her mother's ability to, well, look pretty and graceful. There's something small and subdued about her, most of the time - a reservedness to her expression, a hesitance to the way she moves .
What Makes Them Them
Personality Description: There are those who say that a lot of Aphrodite's children tend to be vapid, shallow, and little more than just a pretty face. When they say that, they usually include Amy in that group. And for good reason, perhaps. She really does care obsessively about her appearance, trying to make sure her clothing suit every occasion perfectly. She usually doesn't have anything that clever to say, and she's not particularly good at anything; she hates athletics, grows easily discouraged by hard work, and falls head over heels into crushes easily. What she /is/ good at is arranging jewelry perfectly, picking complimentary colors to wear, and letting everyone else do the thinking.
Amy tries to be the stereotypical Aphrodite girl; it's not a role that is very difficult for her to play. She isn't very assertive save when she loses her temper (and she's quick to back down afterwards), and beneath the pretty face is a mess of insecurities - she's convinced that she's not good enough and that her powers aren't of any worth - and since that's true, why not just be the stereotype people want her to be? It's easier to just be shallow, vain, and not worry too much about anything else. She tries to blend in - even when she does have something she wants to say or there's some role that she thinks she can contribute to, she hangs back. She takes every criticism as a deep cut to the heart; every compliment, however, is to be treasured. As much as she says and believes she wants to blend in because it's safer, she does want to be noticed; just like her divine mother, she wants to be adored and complimented. In spite of all that's going on, she's managed to remain sheltered - there have pretty much always been other people around to protect her and more importantly, not expect too much of her.
While she's not willing to act for herself, she's less hesitant about acting for the sake of others. She has a soft heart for others. Just shoot her a wide-eyed stare (or be a cute, furry animal) and you'll win her heart and sympathies. She's terribly easily to manipulate that way, and while she expects people to think the worst of her, she thinks the best of them until truly proven wrong.
Likes:
+ Love. She likes romances, whether they are camp romances or trashy romance novels. For a daughter of Aphrodite, she still has a rather wide-eyed view of love, expecting it to be absolutely perfect. If it isn't, well, clearly it isn't love!
+ Smells. That is, she likes appealing smells, especially flowery ones. Her favorite is lavender.
+ Fashion
+ Compliments
+ Drawing and art in general: She's not very good at it - she'll certainly never rival demigods whose powers revolve around the crafts or the arts, certainly - but she likes it. As a daughter of Aphrodite, she feels like it's partly her duty to capture beauty wherever she sees it.
+ Mythology: She doesn't like it, exactly, but she tries to stay knowledgeable.
+ Fashion designing
Dislikes:
+ People being upset
+ Bullies
+ Dirtiness - she just likes things to be clean, neat, and orderly
+ Ares's children. It's more that she's uneasy around them. They're kind of scary and they could beat her up if they wanted to, okay.
+ Being the center of attention: she doesn't have the self esteem to stand it without questioning herself too much
Fears:
+ Rejection
+ Pretty much all of the outside world? Monsters are scary; the recent events, even more so.
+ Embarrassing herself.
Secrets:
She's recently been introduced to feminism; her knowledge is shallow, but it's given her new ideas to wrestle with. Perhaps love and beauty aren't every bit as important as her mother would have them be. Consent is important - therefore, love magic and charmspeaking might be unethical? She hasn't really talked about this with anyone yet; she's afraid that it might rouse her mother's anger if she did. In the meantime, though, she's been using her charming skills with a lot more hesitance.
Ambitions:
If you asked her, she would tell you that she has no real ambitions, and she believes it herself. Her powers are mediocre even for a daughter of Aphrodite - she can't charmspeak, she's not resistant to illusions, all she can do is make people like her better. What use is she?
Her first is to get by at camp, not make too many waves, and fit in - while living up to the beautiful image of an Aphrodite girl, of course.
Her second is to bring beauty into the world. Somehow. She would love to do it through art or fashion designing, but she feels like this is an impossility for her - she's just not that good. So she's decided instead to do it by helping people - bringing a smile to people's faces, giving people makeovers if they ask.
Powers:
+ Minor Love Magic
+ Resistance to Charms/Mind Magic: Her resistance is minor, here, mostly because the charmspeak/illusions can prey on her desire to go with the flow. Most of the time, she'll get an uneasy sense that something is wrong, but not enough to actually snap out of it assuming that the charmspeaker continues speaking. However, this does mean that it'll be easier for others to break her out of a charmspoken trance.
+ Control over Jewelry/Magic Makeovers
+ Minor Magic - Completely untrained, though.
Family and History
Personal History:
David Seddon was a poet; his subject was the goddess of love. The poems themselves never became that famous, but Aphrodite found them since her last lover had a copy. She was pleased by the flattering portrait of herself the poems presented - so pleased that she paid the poet a visit and decided to sleep with him, just for variety's sake - she thought he was cute, in a scruffy, artisty way. She told him she was the goddess of love, and showed him just a few tricks to make sure he believed her.
Nine months later, when he still was trying to capture what it was like to see the goddess of love in the flesh in a poem (an impossible task), a dove pecked at his window. Then, when he went outside, he saw some doves fly down and drop a reed basket onto his doorstep. Inside was a tiny, sleeping baby and a note that misspelled David's name, mentioned that their night together had been very nice, and oh, and by the way, don't tell the baby that her mother was a goddess, since that would ruin the surprise. The doves flew away, and David kept the baby girl, naming her Amelia after Amelia Earhart, the first female pilot to fly across the Atlantic.
He stopped writing poetry, went back to his mother's house for her help with raising the child, and eventually becoming a teacher. He never loved another woman again.
Amy grew up with a perfectly uneventful childhood. Her father and her grandmother loved her. Her looks helped; adults tended to like her, since even as a child she looked rather pretty. She gained an affection for art - at that time, it was untainted by the knowledge that others would always be better than she was, and she thought that she wanted to become an artist. When she was twelve, Arimaspi attacked her school - coming not for her, but for another, more powerful demigod at the school. Aided by a satyr, the two of the fled to the camp. The Arimaspi were the beginning of her fear of monsters - Amy learned, very quickly, that a) the Arimaspi were really ugly and b) life in the outside world was dangerous.
A few days after she entered the camp, her mother claimed her at dinner. At first, it was great - she had a cabin where she could belong and the siblings she'd always wanted. But then came the sinking feeling that her powers were useless (she couldn't even charmspeak), and so she decided that she would just try to survive the camp and attempt nothing more.
Out of her fear of facing monsters, she's elected to stay full-time at the summer camp, with only brief visits to her family.

And Finally...
I, Spar, have made this entirely up. I did not rip somebody else’s application from any site, and have followed the rules accordingly.
And…? Yes.
