Hastings carefully rolled off of her warm bed, pulling her white and grey sheets off of herself. Reveling normal clothing instead of pajamas. It was the middle of the night, and everyone was asleep. Aside from Hastings of course, at least as far as she knew. But in the Ares cabin, everyone was sleeping from what Hastings could see from the moonlight streaming in from the windows around the cabin.
Swinging her legs over the edge of the bed, Hastings carefully set her feet onto the floor, attempting not to make too much noise and wake her siblings. Even though she had socks on, the floor was still cool underfoot. Picking up her black combat boots, placing them under her arm, she didn't want to make noise as she made her way across the cabin to the door. Hastings then leaned over and picked up her jacket. It may be summer, but there was a chance that they could be cool where she was going. Just a percausuon.
With her boots and jacket in hand, Hastings quietly began to tiptoe her way to the door, gazing from person to person as she passed them being sure that they didn't stir. Once she reached the door, Hastings opened it slowly, wincing a bit as it screeched. Stepping out of the cabin, Hastings closed it slowly behind her, then sitting on the steps in from of the cabin to put on and her boots. Standing up, Hastings began her walk to the north side of camp, there was located the North Woods, which was where Hastings would be heading into.
Stopping at the edge of the woods, Hastings pulled on her black jacket over her orange camp shirt. It will help her to be less conspicuous, especially with all the monsters roaming around. Taking a deep breath, Hastings felt for the bronze locket that hung around her neck, holding it tightly in her hands. The locket was the one weapon Hastibgs carried with her at all times. When opened, it turned into a foot and a half long bronze sword. Which was good, considering that Hastings had a slight fear of the dark. Only, it isn't exactly the dark itself that Hastings fears, it's what could be hiding in the dark.
I can do this, Hastings thought to herself as she took her first steps into the woods. Hastings could feel her heart begin to race at every sound that seemed out of place. Even some of the normal sounds, still gripping her locket tightly in her hands.
