Max still had no idea how to hold schedule, much less wake up at the same time every morning. Today was early -- but this time, it was for a specific reason. She had to meet Talia Winchell at the arena at seven o'clock sharp for self defense lessons. This was, honestly, the only reason she forced herself to sit up and swing her legs over the side of the bed. She winced as her feet hit the cold floor, her sore legs pushing herself up off the bed until she was standing. She stretched quickly, feeling the dull pain in her limbs that she was so accustomed to.
Still not fully awake, she stumbled over to her dresser and rummaged through the folded clothes for several seconds before she pulled out the clothes she needed, then she stumbled into the bathroom to change, brush her teeth, put her hair up, and do several other things that were needed. Once she was done, she was feeling considerably more awake, and stopped only to grab her gym bag before running out the cabin door.
She slung her gym bag over her sore shoulders to jog to the mess hall to grab two smoothies -- one for Tal, and one for herself. She started drinking hers on the way to the arena, wincing at the taste (strawberry and kale with almond milk -- not horrible, but definately not great), but then growing accustomed to it and sipping it quickly, still trying to shake the sleep from herself. For the first time, it occured to her that maybe it wasn't the best idea to stay up until two am the previous night.
When she reached the arena, her smoothie was almost finished, but Tal wasn't there yet. Max made a split-second choice to set up for her, though she was previously going to make Tal do it. Max picked up a punching bag and hung it on a low bar, then hung a similar one roughly five feet to the side. She punched the cracked material once, feeling the dull pain in her hands, and cracking her knuckles. All that was left for Max to do was wait.
