`` specifics
personality description: Ada is not exactly the sort of person you'd want to be friends with. Though she accepts the idea of "family" within the hunters group and will work to help or protect her "sisters" should they need her, she is incredibly self-involved and cares only really for what benefits her. Indeed, the actual protection of her sisters is for the sake of Artemis which in the long term benefits her as an individual. She is selfish and should you want her help, she needs to be assured some benefit out of it. Though, she is a good person to have on your side. She is a remarkably good hunter and tracker. Once her target is set, she is certain she will achieve it. In addition to this, she is rather smart - tending to use logic and psychology in her tracking. However, she doesn't tend to make friends. The chance in which this happens is very rare. For instance, should she work with someone for her own benefit and potentially grow a connection in which she feels she needs to protect the individual then it could happen, though this, bar the "family" of the hunters, is all she could really accomplish in terms of friendship.
Ultimately, she cares only for herself. She cares not for sex and relationships or for people. She would support an immoral cause if it meant something benefited her. She possesses a "don't-give-a-f*ck" attitude about anything and everything that doesn't include her somehow and so appealing to her "better nature" is merely crying to deaf ears. Ada speaks her mind, too. She cares not for hurt feelings and would speak her mind without trouble. Should someone dispute her words she wouldn't care. Though, in reality, she does care about one thing besides herself and that is Artemis. Indeed, this is ultimately because of personal interest but for that reason she protects the idea of the goddess very well. The goddess is the source of her immortality and well being, and so Ada works hard to keep in the favor of the goddess. Though this itself is more in her mind. She works hard for it, though realistically it doesn't get her any more in or out of Artemis' favor.
Overall, Ada is a careless and selfish girl. She cares only for herself and considers only what benefits her, no matter how immoral. She's a good person to have on your side but the only way to get this is to come up with a compromise to plans that benefit her. Basically, she's an easy person to dislike.

`` history & family
personal history: For a couple in Victorian England there were two years in a happy marriage, with four years of pleasant courting beforehand. That was what Edith Morgenstern had enjoyed prior to the death of her husband. In the two years of their marriage, the two had been constantly trying for a child, to be able to start a family. However, this never went well. Upon his sudden death, Edith was distraught. She relied emotionally on her husband and wholly too. When he died, she could no longer take it. She rushed to the nearby pier and spent a long time contemplating what to do, though she was extremely tempted to end it there. To join her husband. When she got closer to the water, she was stopped by a man who embraced the crying woman and soothed her, calming her down. He sat her down and talked to her. They just spoke for hours on end, until on impulse, Edith kissed him. She wasn't entirely sure why. She was upset and needed something, the warm embrace she missed... the one she couldn't say goodbye to. Perhaps it was heartless of her to end up in bed with another man so shortly after the death of her husband, but when acting impulsively, she didn't really know what she was doing and this ended up only upsetting her further, resulting in her suddenly shooing the man from her home.
That one night together, however, had left Edith pregnant. Though from then on, she had lost it. Upon the birth of her child, she thanked her lucky stars that the family had had enough money for household staff, who thus took care of the child in place of her mother. Throughout Ada's childhood, Edith remained unresponsive and stayed in the same chair in front of the fire all day every day except for when she had to sleep. Her heart was broken and she was not sure what to do with herself anymore. Ada, on the other hand, was raised normally for a child in the era born in wealth. Though upon attempts to communicate with her mother, Ada's heart slowly began to shatter piece by piece as she started to feel she wasn't important enough for her mother's attention. Eventually, this depression became carelessness. Ada came to a point where she failed to understand exactly what was wrong with her and so changed her spirit. She decided just not to care. She decided to take an approach that didn't rely on anyone else, something that was just for her. Even the household staff began to quietly resent the child, though they couldn't ever say such a thing out loud.
Upon the age of thirteen, Ada was claimed by Poseidon. She wasn't sure what this meant, but Ada being Ada, she didn't think it significant at the time - though it did mean her doing a little research into who exactly her father was. This was merely the icing on the cake to her heartless personality, however, as her whole life she had been led to believe another man was her father. It had all been lies. Thus, she her tendencies were only strengthened and there seemed no chance in her even having a heart.
Five years later, upon the age of eighteen, Ada began to be courted by a certain gentleman. Despite his attempts, however, she cared little for him and refused him every time. She insisted she didn't care for relationships including sex or even romance. He, annoyed at this, ranted at her and claimed she would never find a partner. Her reply? Simply that she didn't want one. Who needed love if all it caused was pain.
Such a response interested Artemis. Within days, Ada was confronted by the goddess and invited to join the hunt, she was given the terms of this invitation and within seconds Ada happily accepted and joined the hunters of Artemis. She didn't exactly care for the promise of eternal virginity, in that there was definitely no problem with it.
Until now, Ada had been on the hunt. Though, she had to stay at camp and has been stuck there for about a year, though still attempting to properly settle in.
