Personality Description:
Daniel has a bubbly personality which many people levitate towards. Curious, intelligent and open-minded with a dash of naive, that’s how many would describe Daniel Collins. What most people don’t know is that when Daniel gets home, he lies down on his bed, staring up at the ceiling and wonders why his life still feels so empty with all the great things going on around him, with all the people that seem to love him and with all the great things he has already achieved. His mother raised him to be strong, determined, and responsible; and that’s exactly who he is. Taking care of his younger sister was always a top priority for him since his parents were always traveling.
His bubbly personality is just a front. Daniel still yearns for the day when he can fill his void, this sense of emptiness that had lodged itself in his heart. His intelligence should make others feel weird, intimidated even but no. He portrays a little dumbfounded sometimes. Daniel hardly ever uses his powers in front of the other campers. And since he is an only child of Zeus right now, it isn't to much of a problem. Unless his emotions get the better of him, if he feels he has to, or if he has nothing better to do. He just doesn't like the looks he gets when he calls forth a thunderstorm to shroud the camp or a lightning bolt to electrocute his enemies. He just doesn't want to be taken advantage of, being a son of Zeus (one of the main three).
Daniel is a secret hero. He wants nothing more than to save the day and feel the praise of his fellow campers. Completing a quest would be the best thing for Daniel. To make his father finally pay attention and proud of him. He was his only son after all, it wasn't like he had anyone else to be proud of...well his Olympian children he guessed.

Personal History:
Angelique was the picture perfect, ideal girl that any guy could ever want. Obviously Zeus saw that quality in her, he had to have her. It was on that day that he introduced himself to her in a vineyard in England. They talked and laughed and 9 months later Daniel was born. And as usual Daniel grew up knowing nothing about the Greek world or even anything about demigods. It wasn't until the attacks started that he was intrigued. Reading soothed his mind and paranoia. Always scared that something somewhere was hunting him. His mother told him that when they started. She said that his father told her that this would happen eventually, and sooner was more probable. Given that his dad was king of the gods and all. When Daniel was 3, his little sister was born, Taylor.
Daniel was walking with his mother and sister when the newest monster attacked them in the middle of a park. The usual procedures started his mother took charge and unsheathed the dagger that always hung around her waist. Daniel was too close ans was slashed at. The monsters claw taking a chunk out of his upper arm. His mother screamed and charged the monster, burying her dagger deep in the monsters side. This was not your average one strike=dead monster. Strike after strike and the monster still charged. Angelique begged for Daniel to run with Taylor. Daniel was too scared. Grabbing his sisters hand he tugged her behind a large oak tree. Screaming was emitting from the void where he knew his mother was fighting, and then silence. Nothing but monster grunts and then hurried thumping up a street, how the other people didn't see this was astounding to Daniel.
After a few moments to make sure that the monster was gone and wouldn't be back he told Taylor to stay where she was while Daniel went to investigate. His mother was on the ground a long gash across her head and blood was pooled around her. He leaned in close...not breathing, no heartbeat. Angelique Collins was dead. Tears streamed down the 10 year old face as storm clouds formed above, lightning stroke all around and thunder rumbled in the sky. The electricity was intense in the air and emotions were pouring out of Daniel. A long and loud scream sent a lightning bolt right out of his right palm and struck the oak tree where Taylor had been standing. Had been. She had taken off. Was gone. Feeling the exhaustion of the last hour he fell to the ground over the corpse of his mother and closed his eyes, passing out, as a half man and what seemed to be half donkey approached him.
When he woke up he was in a white room and there were people rushing around poking and touching him. He woke up freaked out. Sitting bolt right up he startled a good chunk of the lot. They seemed scarred, worried, relieved and astonished. Daniel looked down at his shirt, no it was hardly a shirt anymore, it was seared and burnt and there was long white bandages on his arm where the monster swiped at him. The donkey man was there too. He was trying to explain that in the commotion Daniel had caused, he had electrocuted himself. "My mom...Taylor??" was all he could say. The donkey man just shook his head. Said that his mother was gone and his sister had disappeared into thin air. But apparently had been claimed while he was unconscious. Zeus. The king of the gods. The almighty Zeus was his father? This was just too much to take, he slipped back into his nightmares.
Awaking again, he spent the next six years experiencing his family come and go, die and leave. Daniel was just about to turn off his emotions for good. He just couldn't handle it anymore. If it hadn't been for his friends that he had made at camp, they kept him bubbly and upbeat trying everyday to make himself forget that awful day. He never burdened his friends with his story though. He was only a year rounder, he said, was because he wanted to train to make his father proud. It was true but not the only reason. He had no where else to go.
