“Ooo! Well lookee who’s here: it’s the S-s-st-tutterer." Winter looked up from her book, startled, and then her heart sank at the view. Looking down on her from her full height of six foot zero, was Dana Esther Morgan, daughter of Hermes and the most spiteful person that this shy child had ever met so far. With ruby red lipstick, hard high heels made for kicking, a malicious smile, and the talent for lending punches to words, she was Winter’s nightmare and knew it.
As the tall girl sank down onto the bench that the child of Apollo was sitting on, Winter tried her very best to ignore her. It had never worked. Somehow, Dana had always known exactly which subjects would bring a flush to Winter’s cheeks and tears to her eyes. It was one of the many talents the children of Hermes had: to be able to sense what to say at what times to get the best results. In Winter’s case, Dana apparently considered the ‘best results’ to be a flushed face and teary eyes.
With that malevolent smirk on her face, Dana looked over Winter’s shoulder, pretending to skim the page she was on while managing to sneer, “Bored anyone to death, yet, darling?” Winter immediately reddened. It wasn’t so much the words as how she said them; the derisive, sarcastic inflection of her voice.
“G-go a-away!” Winter’s protest sounded weak even to her own ears. And of course, there was that added stutter. Never had she hated her stammering more than when she was being teased with it. Desperately, she glanced around. No one ever noticed her problem; Dana was too clever for that. But this time, Winter was just too far gone. She’d had a horrible day already; what with getting lost, forgetting her books when she went to Greek class, and tripping at the mess hall.
Abruptly, the small child tried to stand up, but with alarm, felt the older girl’s claw-like hand encircle her wrist. “Oh-no you don’t, you little brat! I’m not done with you yet!” With a cruel jerk, the bully forced Winter back into her seat and dug her finger nails into the little girl’s pale arm. As a group of people passed, Dana put on a cheery smile for them, and then turned back to Winter with a wicked grin growing on her face, black eyes sparkling with apparent anticipation. (((Maybe Maxine could be in the group that just passed and noticed what Dana did?)))
Words: 402
Muse: Horrible. I’ve discovered my inability to write about bullies.
Notes:
1) SORRY THIS TOOK SO LONG. Please don’t hate me
2) NPCs are so useful (:
3) This is a terrible, cheesy post and really not the best example of my RPing. Would you like me to start another thread with another one of your characters to make up for it? I’d love to do it and would get to it much faster. Finn has the most muse.
