Sara's day so far had gone splendidly. Of all the days that the weather had been terribly, today it was looking up. Or well, this morning. Because in all reality it was only 5 in the morning. Why was she up so early you may ask? Especially on a Saturday! Well my friends, that is easy to tell you. She was at the beach. You see, for the past couple days the weather had been horrible and so had the waves. But now...well the crystal clear water and great waves that broke at the right time were here.
She sat on her long board, looking out at the ocean. The salty water mixing with the crisp morning air to make a delightful scent in the air. She dropped her head back to look at the sky. It was cloudy. But not terribly. Not to the point that it was be raining anytime soon. She gave a sigh and laid back on her board. Right now she was far from shore. Past the waves that were big and breaking upon first impact.
Sure she could make the waves herself, but she liked the wait. She liked feeling normal during these times. She sat up. The water out here was flat. But her eyes narrowed. Surfers had that sixth sense where they knew when a big one was coming. And she had that. She flipped over so that she was lying on her stomach as she started paddling out. There. The water was just starting to rise. She started to turn her board and when she felt the water starting to lift her, she pushed herself up.
She grinned as she stuck to her spot. She rode on the crest of the wave before dropping down to the middle. This was a great wave. It was huge and breaking at the right time. She let out a yell of excitement as she entered the tube. She reached out her right hand to run it through the water. As she did she looked at where the other side was falling. The water looked like glass. She could pretty much see through it.
As she shot out, she skimmed along the top before doing a backflip off her board and diving into the water. When she came up she swam over to her board and climbed back on. That had been the wave she had been waiting for. She made her way back to the shore.
As she arrived there, she stuck her long board in the sand. Next to it stood her short board, and next to that her boogie board. Grabbing the latter, she ran back out. Getting on it like she would her surfboard she paddled out, though not as far as before. This one would be great for the smaller waves. So she sat. Say and waited. Until a wave would come that she like. Because the few that she passed over were sort of small. She tried to not go for the smaller waves. Her back was to the shore so she couldn't tell if someone was watching or not.
