Rissie shook her head in disapproval. Something seemed weird. What the hell was it? In the place of where her favourite book should be was a banana. Not just any banana. It was painted purple. Stopping still, her eyes narrowed. Iris was sitting on the floor of the Poseidon cabin, beside her bed. Her book was always on the floor next to it. Except, like as before, in its place was a purple banana. Her lips pursed and she ducked under the bed, seeing if it had been moved around. "Damn!" Exclaiming such words would not help anything. So her expression sobered and she tried to calm her mind. Thinking less of this banana. Which, admittedly, was something she'd never thought she'd have to stop thinking about. Weird, wasn't it?
Instead, a smile grew upon her lips. She jumped up onto her feet and paced across the room with a spring in her step. It was raining outside and although she was a child of a god who had given her such powers to stay dry in such conditions, she had still not wanted to go outside. Maybe it was just that mood... the atmosphere that was always emitted during depressing weather. It always purged the grins and sing-songs in people's minds and words. I wish life was a musical... then it wouldn't be so... meh when it rained. Instead, we'd sing about it! So she hummed. Rolling onto her bed and continuing to hum. Not like it wasn't in tune, however. Iris sang with melody and rhythm. If it had words, it could be beautiful. Maybe it was the connections to the naiads her father had. Was it naiads that could sing? Nevertheless, she didn't sing often. So whoever heard it was lucky. Even though she had so little confidence to sing aloud. She was glad that Bobbi wasn't here. Or at least... not directly in front of Rissie's eyes. Most of the time, she was so caught up in her own world that sometimes she didn't notice who was around her or who had said things to her. It was really bad. Again, her head began to shake in disapproval and she stopped humming. "Why do there only have to be two people staying here?!" Springing back to her feet, she paced again. "Not that Bobbi isn't fun to be around." Now, in Iris' opinion, that was true. But she meant groups like the Hermes cabin who had had four or five members within who would prank each other at any time and have fun twenty four seven. Or like the Athena cabin, with their continuous scheming or architectural planning. Or the Ares cabin with their fighting. Or the Demeter cabin with their cooking. The list went on. What do the Poseidon cabin do? splash each other? Nah, more could be done. But Iris was not openly proud about her powers. She was a generally happy person, lively and excited most of the time - now being the exception, but as soon as her father was mentioned she was forced to sober her expression and just shrug it off. It was impossible bringing back the pride of her father's given powers now. She had to use them in secret. So no one would or could know. That was the best way for it.
Iris brushed a strand of her red hair behind her left ear and let out a sigh. "What to do what to do what to do." She stole a glance at the door, could she escape? No. She'd be openly using her powers in front of all of the cabins. People like her who would be stuck inside and just watching the goings on of the outside world. This was going to difficult to deal with. There must be something to make the day happy and lively again. She could escape to the Hermes cabin and say 'hey'. Maybe she could sing some song from a mortal musical. All of the things suggested in her mind could lead to fun and frivolities. The idea was just how to get there.
