ooc; I've learned to capitalize titles. -.-
Tal absent-mindedly combed her fingers through her long brown hair as she watched the sun rise over Camp Half-Blood. The temperature was somewhat moderate now, but she was sure that within an hour or two it would be stifling... given that it was the month of July in New York. For the gods' sake, it was kind of warm, and it was — Tal checked the analog clock that she had hung in the center of the wall — six-fifteen in the morning. By noon, the temperature would be ricocheting up like nobody's business and everyone would be sweating buckets.
Ignoring her own logic, Tal crept into the bathroom so as not to wake her siblings. It was one of the first days walking on her newly healed ankle, so she was a little unstable... she was ecstatic that she was off of the crutches, though. She stepped into her blue denim shorts and slipped a tank top over her head, adding a strawberry-colored crocheted sweater that she had borrowed from Em. After yanking a brush through her hair one more time and checking in the mirror, she decided she looked passable. Makeup would come later.
She opened the door of the bathroom, which creaked loudly and rather non-subtlely. Crap, she thought as she avoided the equally creaky floorboards as she crossed the cabin before sitting back down on her bed. She really didn't want to be responsible for someone waking up so early in the morning, and also knew that Jamian and Em were light sleepers to some extent. She wasn't so worried about Bailey or the unclaimed people.
She lay down on her stomach and opened her book, Bliss, but before she could get far a loud explosion carried across the cabins area. Tal peered out of the window, where the cabin inhabitants next to Hermes's cabin had... conducted an experiment? Tal craned her neck like a tactless rubbernecker, but she couldn't see anything from her bed.
She continued reading as her siblings started to stir.
ooc; crap, my muse sucked for this; sorry. D:
