Long, blonde hair fell around Arrine as she sat on the shore of Fireworks Beach. Her day had been absolutly perfect. First, she had woken up and it had been slightly cold. Cold plus salt equals water that was AWESOME for Arinne's skin. Then she had swam to the bottom of the ocean and met a hammerhead shark. That was so cool. Then she had swam for a while, then she had met a very, very cute camper named Kel. But she hadn't flirted too much, considering she was currently in a relationship with Bobbi Koester. Sure, they weren't too serious, but still... Arinne thought that they might have something a bit more serious in the future. Of course, they couldn't exactly openly express that... it would just be a bit awkward.
She dug her toes into the sand as the water flowed over them, then retraced their steps and pulled back into the blue waves. Without even thinking about it, the demi-naiad pulled her hair behind her head and started to fishtail it (no pun intended). It was a lot classier then a braid, and a lot more comfterble then having it down. And yes, she understands the irony of it being called a fishtail. Once it was done, she pulled it into a hairtye and put a flower that had been sitting on the grass a few feet from the shore in the fishtail.
Arinne got up and ran into the water, then completely submerged, then she just floated there for a second. She could literally feel the water surging around her. As a naiad, Arinne was naturally able to feel water. I mean like, FEEL it. The energy that flowed through it and she could feel fish swimming from several feet away from her. Probably because she, technically, was a deminaiad. Somewhere along the line, she was related to Hecate, so she could sort of feel auras. But that's not the only thing she could do that regular naiad's couldn't. She could walk on land for forty-eight hours without drying out. Euwh, what a horrible way to die. Her skin would shrivle up and her brain would dehydrate, therefor killing her. The whole thing seemed really, really painful.
The blonde girl let the sun bathe her face and the fish swim beneath her. Camp was so beautiful... that was the only word for it. Beautiful. She had been to many places, but camp was the best. That might have been because her parents left, so Arinne didn't get in trouble for falling asleep on the sand and spending the night there, or being found flirting with someone. I mean, sure, they where her parents and she loved them... but still, Arinne was glad that she was her own person, now.
