David's life was everywhere, all over the place. First, Max - his little sister - had died. He heard that a few people saw her rushing out of camp, and then a couple days later he went looking for her. He found nothing. His little sister, missing. Just like that. One day there, the next day not. And he was unemotional for at least a week, blank expression all the time. Not smiling or frowning or laughing or getting mad or really talking to anyone. Just silent, just neutral.
And then he met Delaware. Delaware Conway wasn't like any girl he had ever met. David didn't really hang around girls that much, but they met and it seemed that his dull world returned to colour. He smile, her laugh, the mischievous twinkle in her bright blue eyes. She was his today, his tomorrow. It started with flirting, and then some sort of skinny love until it all came together. Then they were dating, and his world that was torn into puzzle pieces so suddenly came together, and the picture was complete.
But it just had to get more complicated.
This girl came, small and young, a child of Nike. Her name? Cara Darke. Darke. A Darke child who just happened to be a child of Nike. Coincidence? Clearly not. David befriended the girl, she was sweet, she was adventurous. David was her brother, and she was eight, for heaven's sake. She told him about her dreams about Nike to find her sister, Max. Max, again.
And this was where he was now, sister issues and an Athena girlfriend. He wasn't even sure where his emotions were. It was sad then happy then a bit sad and then he still had his happiness a bit. So where was his life leading to now? Nowhere.
