Unfortunately for Bailey, the beginning of summer didn't just bring more daylight hours to go surfing and the sun; it also brought people, droves of them. As soon as the temperature passed the 60s mark, campers popped out, crowding the beaches and other various areas, trying to enjoy the heat. And when it was a hot day like today? There were swarms of them. Bailey had no idea where they all came from. But that didn't matter because they were still there, taking up space as they tried to roast themselves in the sun. Not only did it mean that he could no longer surf in solitude, but it also meant that his claustrophbia started to worsen.
And that was why Bailey had insisted on leading Tal over to the strawberry fields to chat. Although there were still a few stray campers lounging about, there weren't nearly as many as there were by the lake and the beach. As they strode through the endless rows, Bailey pestered Tal with questions. Lately, Tal had been acting strange. At first, Bailey thought it was just her being upset that they had completely screwed up a prank, one that had ended with her going to the infirmary and getting a cast. But when Tal still insisted on being depressed, even after getting a boyfriend (that creepy Ares dude), he knew something was up. After going through all the possibilities (creepy Ares dude had brainwashed her, she had been taken over by some alien who was now impersonating her, she was possessed by an evil demon, etc), he had concluded that the only way to find out why she was acting... Tal-ish was to ask her why she wasn't acting Tal-ish.
"So, Tal, you wanna plan a prank? We haven't pranked those Dionysus campers in a while... It'd be unfair to ignore them when planning victims. Hey, Tal, why're you so quiet lately?" He paused briefly before forging on. "And why- who is that?" Bailey pointed up in the sky at something that was moving erratically. "Not who, what?" he corrected himself. It looked vaguely pegasus-shaped. It was hard to tell because it constantly jerked back and forth, and he thought he saw it gleam in the sun.
